I'm so confused.. my period has ended or just about to end. Yesterady was the 5th day. This morning I tested opk and as you can see the line is almost as dark as the control line (I think)! I felt like this has happened to me before in which I seem to get a opk+ literally next day or so after period ending. Is this normal? I should mention that was my first morning urine too, perhapas I should test later? I think I read there are false opk+ readings too. I don't have cramps or anything but I did hear those stomach noises lol

I should also mention that this was 7-8 minutes after - no good? It says to only read at teh 3 minute mark but I did something and totally forgot about it lol

Anyways wht are you thoughts.. does this look positive? Should I attempt even though I literally just finished my period..I have a very regular 28 day cycle too. So con

Not positive but close. Yes if you test with fmu, it's going to be darker than normal because your urine is more concentrated. You can test again in the afternoon but I'll bet it will be negative.

In my experience a defitnive pos opks will be positive also in the afternoon (and Atomic even recommends to test after lunch for best results!) and also after no hold.

If it is an „almost“ positive, it will be lighter after drinking much, but you can try either more sensitive tests, or do a hold, 2hours at least;)

That is a negative OPK and it's not unusual to get darker negatives during AF.

Your body uses the LH hormone to do all sorts of things (and believe it or not even your husband would get faint lines on the OPK because his body uses it too). It's only when it reaches a certain concentration in your urine that it will trigger ovulation.

i don't really see a point in wasting OPK during your period. Wait till CD 8 at the earliest.

I really seriously doubt this is going to be positive on CD 5. I wouldn't sweat it.

Because the LH reaches the highest concentration in your urine after lunch, it's a good time to test geneerally speaking (a couple brands of OPK are calibrated to use FMU but most are best after lunch) Most people will still get a pos at that time even if they didn't restrict fluids. But some people do need to restrict fluid and hold their urine to get even the after lunch tests to go positive.
