TBH I think a lot of how the "ring test" works is tied in with wishful thinking!
however, I hear that the blood test can be very accurate - 98% BBC News - Baby gender blood tests 'accurate' (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-14457670) but it's pretty expensive

I think the accurate blood test is newer than that article! There was an inaccurate blood test going around a few years ago.
I totally agree about the ring test and just so people know, the Drano test is not true either and a woman was actually blinded when she tried it (she was trying to spit into the Drano and the powder flew into her eyes and blinded her.
