Alright ladies! I need help. I nurse my three month old baby. Exclusively breastfeed, because so far there isn’t a bottle she will take. That’s a problem, because my three year old is going to need surgery on his eyes real soon and no one can watch her really, because she won’t take a bottle. We’ve tried avent, nuk, spectra, medela, and playtex with liners with no luck. She literally screams and refuses until she gets my breast. So I need help, best bottle for a picky baby!

https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/50268aHave you tried Comotomo? They are expensive but my sister had the same problem and it was the only one she could get my niece to take!

Have you tried giving her a tiny bit of milk directly from breast to take hunger edge off, then unlatch her and offer the bottle?
Otherwise, the on,y bottle that helped transition was the Medela Calma, as it forces bub to suck like on breast.
Last resort, cup feeding...she doesn’t have to feed via a bottle to get her milk when you are away.
When is the surgery due hun?

No, just been working my way down the line, but I seen those and wondered if they worked.

No, but I will try that next time! I’ll have to look up the medela calma. The surgery is nov 21.

Tagging in just to learn since I never managed to get DD on a bottle, but the few times I had to be away from her during a nurse, actually spoon feeding or cup feeding milk was enough of a novelty to get her through those few hours.

You’ve still got a month, you and Emmalyn will find a way to make it work :)
Also, maybe try to get hubby or someone other try to feed her (bottle, cup etc) whilst you aren’t in the room...if Mummy is there, She will always choose mummy so if she can’t see you she’s might be inclined to at least try ;) good luck, and keep us posted on the surgery too!

Thanks LMSM! [emoji4] Mom tried her when I was at the two hour appointment with Braxton and she still refused, but we are trying.

I could never get dd5 to take a bottle either. Tommee tippee closer to nature seem to be good :)

Yep mine would never take a bottle either. But by 4 months most of mine were really curious about taking food off a spoon and I was able to leave them for a short time. FXFXFX for easy surgery and quick recovery.

Thanks ladies, her dr suggested letting my mom or someone feed her with a medicine dropper as some breastfed babies absolutely will not take a bottle. So I’m going to start leaving her with my mom for an hour everyday and pumping a bottle so they can get used to the medicine dropper. She also said Emmalyn’s weight had slowed on her growth chart so suggested I started taking the supplement fenugreek, which I have around here somewhere in the house. Just need to find it. I think it’ll help if I start pumping everyday also and drink more water. Have also started with sting rolled steel cut oats also.

Hope it all works out for you mommy. I hate pumping, but we all do what we don't want to for our babies x (I'm still dairy free 4 weeks now.)

Thanks atomic, I’m so nervous about his surgery. I’ve put it off for so long hoping his eyes would just heal with prayers, but the lord has it in his plans for surgery. So now I pray the surgery is one and done. I’ve been leaving her with my mom for an hour while I go get the kids from school and she’s gotten her to take an ounce out of an xxslow nipple tommee tippee brand bottle. So It’ll get better by the 21st of November. Just going to have her keep doing that while the hour I’m gone. Like my mom says it feels like we are punishing her. [emoji853]

I have a 3 hour assessment with my 12 yr old in November. At least I can bring baby with me but I have to fill in forms the entire time, so if he needs Fed or starts crying, I don't know what I'll do to get them completed :/

Hopefully it all goes smoothly for you and ds mommy. It's bad enough the worry of surgery without the added anxiety of baby too xx

Bbb, breast feeding is a great thing, but sometimes it leaves us full of anxiety, because they want to nurse at the most awkward times! I hope it goes smooth for you!

Thank you!

Awww, it's so hard! She won't remember though. Our parents did all sorts of horrible things to us LOL and we turned out ok! They make babies very adaptable for a good reason. :hugs:

She actually let me do it without wanting my breast! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181020/58d75de8234130f5f60898466595fc84.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181020/31115790df896569724297271bac82a8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181020/9fafc46a1cd0cb81c14f4815d1464d64.jpg

Actually the worse person someone should ask if they should have another baby. My motto if you want another baby go for it, a baby brings so much joy to a family, the lord’s timing is always on time and he always provides. So if you want another baby go for it!
