Test results are in but I have to wait till hubby and I are both home from work to open it. Ahhh. About 4 hours. This is going to be a long wait. Suddenly very nervous to know one click of the mouse will tell us what the future hold (results are online).

Hi girls just seen this thread now. I'm about 11 weeks and due the start of September. I'm going out of my mind wondering what the gender is. I won't find out till April. I was going to get the nipt done but my hospital is doing the nucheal scan and bloods so will only be getting the nipt done to
Find out gender so it doesn't seem worth it as it's expensive.
I'm going over what I done to even see if I have a chance as I feel I done it all wrong.
We were ttc a girl and dtd once on first positive opk. Would this of been right for ttc a girl. Just trying to have some hope.

Yes I have 4 boys and I girl and lost another baby girl during pregnancy so desperately hoping this baby could be a girl but I'm wondering did I do it wrong by one attempt at first positive opk or was that more a boy sway.

Snap! I’ve literally just seen this too and am due the same time as you
I did the nipt test in my last pregnancy, (failed sway) and I regretted it. My chances of downs and other chromosomal problems were no higher than they were for any other previous pregnancy’s. The tech ended up telling me girl, by ultrasound (very unprofessional) then boy by results!i Was heart broken by being messed around and am fully aware it doesn’t happen to most but at that point, I did feel it was a waste of money.
I too, should be finding out gender in April but have decided to complicate things and go team yellow/ green (never know which means what )asthus is our last baby, I’ve never found out at delivery so am keen to at least experience that once. I may consider letting dh find out by asking the tech to write it down but that may just complicate things
I have a feeling I will spot the bits without needing to find out anyway as this is my fifth pregnancy, but 6th baby

The NIPT test shows that this baby is a boy, so our sway didn't work. I wish I had been able to convince my husband to do IVF but since he actually preferred a second boy to a girl, it was no go. :( Well, maybe we'll surprise ourselves someday and go hi-tech for a third...At least we preferred having no girls to having no boys...I feel resentful that my husband robbed me of my desire to stick with only one child and now he also got what he wished for gender instead of me, ugh.

I am so sorry about the test. I know how you feel!! My boy was born Aug 2017 and I was really hoping for pink this time. I swear, I have every "symptom and sign" of girl but NIPT test shows boy (due aug 2019). I still wish that is was wrong sometimes. I have googled myself to death with wrong NIPT and everything and its very tiresome. But i'm trying to look on the bright side, because these boys will have a best friend for life and be able to grow up close together, and maybe down the road, if it is meant to be, be able to watch over baby sister! :) Like you said, a Hi-tech third! Sounds like a good plan to me!

I have two boys and they love eachother soooo much!
When i hear them laugh together i feel the luckiest mother in the world.
I don’t know the gender of this baby yet but when its another boy i know the dissapointment will be strong but after its born and filled with love i know i will be lucky forever with three handsome men by my side.
And praying they will give me some nice daughters in law

im sorry Amelia  its really tough when you have a successful sway followed by an opposite, my dh is also 100% against HT and wont do anything to sway either. I hope in the future he agrees to allow you to go HT for your daughter if it is what you still want to do xx

Hello ladies. How is everyone? I am 21+3 now and feeling mostly normal again except fatigued easily. Sorry I've been MIA lately. It's kidding season on our farm and we had 17 baby goats within 4 days last week! We now have 25 baby goats, which is super fun! We still have 7 more mama's to kid but we have a month or so til that happens. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well! ❤❤

I am one of those 1 percent people for whom the Nipt has come back as inconclusive. I have now done the tests twice and both times it was inconclusive.
Although my NT has come back as normal with low risk for abnormalities, it has been a stressful 4 weeks to deal with this all. I was so keen to hear the gender of the baby but I heard the tests were inconclusive twice! So, now I am keeping fingers and toes crossed for a normal healthy baby and hoping I hear boy too!

They are tons of fun! They're not much work if they're born in warmer weather but it's been colder than the norm here so I've had to make sure they get dried off sooner a d move them to the barn if needed. I had to bring 3 in to warm up bc they were wet and cold. But so far so good. We have 3 bottle babies and the boys take turns feeding them, they love it!

17w3d and been feeling baby a lot lately. Can’t recall if this is earlier than last baby. Also had US this week and baby is still a girl...haha, even though I know how accurate NIPT is, I still feel good having US confirm it.
So we still haven’t told a single person that I am pregnant and the longer it goes, the less I care to tell. We are having a baby shower for my little sister this weekend at my house and I was thinking I would tell in the days after that but now I might try to hold out till 20 weeks. I like a challenge and frankly hate people asking me questions or saying stupid comments so the secret is nice to keep.

Hi there!
I posted ages ago and then went quiet - I’m due in September and have been quietly lurking whilst waiting for NIPT results. We swayed boy and results said boy!!!! We already have three gorgeous girls.
How’s everyone feeling. I’m only 12 weeks - just waiting on my first scan appointment. Will be interesting to look at nub actually knowing gender this time - it’s been obviously girly every other time so I’m intrigued as to what boy bits look like!! Haha (& praying my NIPTs not wrong and I see 3 white lines again!)

I love that ur “confirming “ your NIPT with the US because I did just that too, first thing I asked the technician was to let me know if I could freely do some boy shopping (which I did do straight away)
Can I ask what comments/questions ur avoiding ?
I too wanted to tell as few people as possible but my MIL has told the whole world it seems. I do get a lot of really stupid questions and comments about gender ; “ it must be a boy this time” “I’m sure you wanted a boy” etc. it annoys me to no end because yes I do want a boy but not for the reasons my culture want, but because I just want one to complete my family..... garghhhh people are stupid and annoying.
Have you let DD1 feel the baby move? How does she feel about being a sister?

Not yet 4blue2pink. I’ve had some complications so planning to wait a while. I had obstetric Cholestasis in two of my pregnancies and the last one I was really poorly, in & out of hospital and then had csec at 37 weeks due to risks. They removed my gall bladder after as they thought that would help but lo and behold - it’s already raising its head and I’m only 12 weeks :( it’s really early but they’ve diagnosed as my bile levels are up. Usually it starts in third trimester :( I’m on the meds and they are monitoring closely but I do worry having it start so early. Hopefully Bubs will be ok with all the close monitoring, tests and meds. Just gotta watch this space but I think we’re going to keep it quiet a little while longer - although I’m already showing so not sure how long I’ll get away with it!! Haha!!

3littleladies, so sorry that you have to go through it.. any minor worry causes a great deal of stress and doesn’t let us enjoy the pregnancy. Fingers crossed for you.
4blue2pink, so glad you are feeling better.
I am constantly worried about the nipt and also anxious that I don’t know the gender. Sometimes I think about if it is girl and the thought makes me sad. I feel like a terrible person in general for feeling that way. To top it all, I have no symptoms now and don’t feel pregnant at all! Is it common? All this is also resulting in sleepless nights for me. I truly pray that I get a closure soon and I be able to enjoy this pregnancy.

Boydream , I understand how you feel exactly. I too would feel sad at the thought of having another girl and then feel bad for feeling that way, and when they said I had SUA at the 12 week scan I felt even worse for ever worrying about gender at all.... but fingers crossed you get your closure soon and enjoy your pregnancy. If it makes you feel better there are quite a few women who have no signs and symptoms of pregnancy. If your not having sickness it might just be a blessing. Let us know if you want to talk anytime.

We are such a quiet group. Haha.
Just for fun, how is everyone doing with their baby names. I feel like I have looked at 1000 lists on Pinterest and online and we have no real options we love. I have a list of about 30 “maybes” but nothing that jumps out at me. Won’t be surprised if I am in labor and we are still picking a name. Makes me sad because I love my 1st daughters name but daughter #2 is going to get something we settled on instead of something we love.

Girliecat, I understand! We don't even have another daughter and we can't decide on a name! We both have a name we really really like and want to go with but neither will concede to the others name pick. Dh likes Kinley and I like Everlie. Her middle name will be Faith either way. I have looked at dozens of name lists and can't find anything remotely close to how much I like Everlie! I would love to settle soon! I like personalizing things and making monogram decorations. You would think it wouldn't be so hard to name our only daughter!

Girliecat, we didn’t pick DD2s name until 2ish months before she arrived. We were team green, and we had two boy names picked but not a single girl name that we really liked. DD1s name is very special, and I didnt want any old name for baby2. We were on our way to New Orleans for a date weekend/baby moon, and we decided on it on our way. I should’ve known she was a girl, because I got so excited about the name! We have a boy name picked out, but again, no girl name this time. Any family names you like?

girl names are so hard for us, boy names we have no issue with all the boys have been named before birth or within a couple of hours after but with our 2 living girls dd1 was nameless for 2 days after she was born and dd2 was nameless for 5 weeks!!!! (over here you have 6 weeks after the birth to register the baby)
totally get you on having lots of girl names you like but nothing standout, thats exactly how i feel, there is a list i like but no front runners!! i love nature names for girls, both our living girls have nature names so im looking towards another nature name if this baby is a girl.. and dont get me started on DH, when it comes to girl names he's all "no no no" while not suggesting anything!!
to be honest if baby is a girl i feel like she wont be named till after shes born, i just cant imagine finding THE name for a girl before seeing her.

In the netherlands you get three days to naming the baby.
So we have to pick a name before birth.

How is everyone? I am 24+2 today. Having lots of round ligament pains lately! The other night it was so bad it gave me contractions! Thankfully that all subsided once I could lay down on my side. It was massively uncomfortable tho. Anyone else have those lately?

4blue2pink, it's a sharp pain usually on 1 side or the other toward the underside of your baby bump. To me it feels like I pulled a muscle or someone is stabbing me in the side. Gotta love pregnancy!

Hi everyone!
Been gone a while so have some catching up to do.
In terms of names we didn’t find it hard to pick or agree on our daughters names. For our son now though we can’t seem to agree ... my husband wants Danial and I would like Sami - both are Indian yet western so works wherever we are. We might have to wait til we meet the little one to make him.
RG I’m sorry for the ligament pain, it’s the worst. I only had it after 36 weeks both previous pregnancies but I know how bad it is. Take some rest and hopefully it eases off a bit.
I will be 25 weeks on Friday. Im dreading the glucose tolerance test coming up. Im scared I will actually have GD this time or even preeclampsia at the end ; I’ve been gaining so much weight according to my scales [emoji2960]
On a side note, what’s everyone’s plans for returning to work after this baby? I know it’s quite far away. I initially agreed with my work that I was going to take a year off , but now they are having so much trouble finding my maternity replacement that they are asking me to come back in 6 months at least for Saturday’s. I’ve said once it’s 6 months if they still need me earlier and I’m able to do it then I’ll definitely come back early but I’m not sure if I’m agreeing just to be able to keep my position for when I want to come back .
How’s everyone going? Anymore gender results? Any news or stories from anyone ?
Thinking of u all even when I’m MIA

So I am 21w now and we finally told people we are pregnant. That is right, we had not told even one person until yesterday and I wish I could have gone on even longer because I am already annoyed at the stupid things people say when you are pregnant or you announce. My mom especially says stuff that annoys me, but that is even when I am not pregnant so I am trying to brush it off (unsuccessfully).
Husband's grandma said "how do you know it is a girl?, Isn't it to early to know? Are you just saying that because you hope it is a girl, but you don't really know?"...Clearly grandma is not happy it is a girl and we knew that she wouldn't be because a few months ago she mentioned wanted us to have another kid and that she hoped it was a boy (mind you we already knew at that time I was pregnant with another girl but we didn't tell her). Haha.

Wait you haven’t told anyone you are pregnant or just not telling the gender? I just meant we hadn’t told even one person we were pregnant. Only grandma made the comment about gender, the other stupid comments are about pregnancy in general, not gender. I can actually handle gender comments well because I am blunt and don’t care about offending anyone when I say I didn’t want a boy. It is the other stupid questions and comments about pregnancy that annoy me.
Haha the name search basically stopped. I feel like I have looked at so many name lists that it is the same names over and over and nothing was changing my mind so I am taking a break.

Viola, yes, the girls will share a room! My youngest is actually still in the crib, but we’ll transition her to a big girl bed sometime after the baby comes. We have to buy new beds for them. I’m looking for something with storage underneath. And I’m still trying to wrap my brain around storage for ALL the TOYS. I’m not sure if it can be done, but I’m gonna try! I think I’m going to wait to buy crib bedding for baby until delivery when we find out gender. The baby will stay in the room with us too, so we will have plenty of time.
I’m pretty sure I’ve been feeling flutters since 13 weeks. DH said it was gas lol, but at my 14 week visit, the OB had the doppler on my stomach and we heard a “whoosh” of a kick, and I definitely felt it. I’ve only felt a couple of kicks though so far.
Also, I’m showing big time! I look like I’m 26 weeks, and I’m only 17 weeks.

I’m still feeling down as all the OWTs point to girl. I had those high hcgs at 4 and 5 weeks. I ovulated from the left ovary. And here comes TMI in 3...2...1... my nipples are still light pink, and I’ve heard so many people say when they were pregnant with their boys they turned dark brown. Ugh.
I had already planned on getting the big ikea kallax storage furniture for most of their stuff, and I’ll have to look at ikeas storage beds too! Thanks for that recommendation!
Im hoping my abdominal muscles are just lazier after two previous babies, and this baby isn’t too big! But honestly, I’m not sure which is worse lol!

Hey girls! Glad to see everyone is doing well lately! It's been a busy time of the yr on our farm and finishing up 2st grade with my oldest. Today was his last lesson! Woo hop!
Viola, ew the sugar test sucks! I have it Monday, can't wait to get it over with! Hope your results are good! I haven't started decorating the nursery yet but I've bought lots of clothes on sale and shoes and some receiving blankets ( I use them as breastfeeding covers and burp cloths). We added a shelf in the closet for her clothes and I've started to paint the trees but haven't gotten very far yet. She is sharing a room with my ds3 so we are coordinating the theme (deer and arrows) together. Now that school lessons are done, I can hopefully decorate the room and finish the trees and birds! I will be 27 weeks tomorrow so I plan to take a bump pic. When I do I will post it in here! Anyone else want to add theirs? I love baby bumps!

Awe! Such a cute bump!! So glad your test went well! I never heard from my ob either so I guess I passed! I am feeling better tho, idk what was going on with me but luckily I was better by that Tuesday. Do you wait for baby to come when she's ready or are you planning to be induced? I have been induced 2x and it went fine so I most likely will again this time

With both my girls I went into labor myself on my exact due date, so I’m hoping this Bub comes on time or early... but I heard boys tend to come late so I’m not sure ... I’m just so over being a blimp already lol. I am considering an early induction just to make sure Bub comes right at the time DH has his scheduled paternity leave . Is it scary being induced? I heard it makes for a fast and intense labor. I didn’t have any epidural or anything with my girls so I’m a bit scared to induce. DD2 was such a fast intense labor (start to finish in 4 hours) so I’m having Trouble making up my mind.
What are everyone else’s plans?

It's not at all true boys tend to come late. My brothers were both early and I was 11 days late. My ds1 was 2 days early naturally. My ds2 I was induced bc he was measuring big. It wasn't bad at all compared to ds1. When my water broke with ds1, 30 mins later contractions started and it was beyond painful! Epidural didn't work either and I ended up with a 3rd degree tear! With ds2, I got pitocin for 2 or 3 hrs before the Dr broke my water. Then I got an epidural and an hr later he was born. It was easy peasy. I got an elective induction with ds3 bc I was afraid my water would break on its own again and I wouldn't get to the hospital in time due to waiting on someone to come stay with the kids. It was easy peasy too. It was nice to have things planned out and not worry about getting there in time.

Y’all, these bumps are too cute!!! Viola, you’re FAR from a blimp! Y’all both look great! I feel so big already! Our anatomy scan is tomorrow, and I’m praying for a healthy baby. Still team green for now ;).
For my DD1 I went into labor the day before her due date. She had meconium in the amniotic fluid when my water broke at the hospital, so they put me on pitocin to speed up labor so she didn’t sit around in it. I got an epidural with her right after my water broke. DD2 came 3 days before her due date. I had planned on having an unmedicated birth, so I tried to labor at home for a while. We got to the hospital around 7:30pm, got to our room around 8:35, and I had her at 9:04pm. I wouldn’t have had time to get the epidural if I had wanted it! The funny thing is, both girls were born on Saturday’s, the first day of my DH’s vacation both times! And both born shortly after 9 pm! My DH actuall gave both of them “pep talks” the day before and told them to come soon. And they did! If it happens again this time, I’ll tell everybody to try it!

Ooo that’s interesting to know. Yes I’m really considering being electively induced but I’ll have to talk to DH and my midwives , I’m not sure if they do that here in the public hospital in Australia.
I’m cringing just thinking about ur tearing, I had a first degree tear with dd1 and nothing at all with DD2 but I still feel like the recovery process was just horrible. I’m in awe of how u managed

Yea the tearing sucked! It took an hr to see me up lol. But I only had 1 or 2 stitches with ds2 and ds3...So not near as bad. Crazy thing is my ds1 was my smallest baby! 7 lb 2 oz. Ds2 was 8 lb 8 oz and ds3 was 8 lb 3 oz. Glad he wasn't as big as ds2! Youch!
So tomorrow I have a 3d/4d US scan to see the baby! I've always wanted to do the 3d images of the baby's face and compare after birth, so my dh got it for my mother's day present! Can't wait to see who she looks the most like!

Scan went well! Baby looks great!! I’m so relieved! I’ll try to upload a pic but it hasn’t worked on this site the past couple of days. The tech didn’t let any gender hints slip either!
RG, I can’t imagine tearing that badly! I bet that was a rough recovery! I feel like all I do for the first month PP is sit and breastfeed! And I imagine sitting on your rear with a third degree is a nightmare.
Nope, upload didn’t work. Dang!

Yea it was no fun! I had lots of pain meds too so I got constipated and so my first bm was a nightmare! But all has healed great and I was VERY pleasantly surprised with ds2 when I could sit Indian style on the floor and change his diaper the day after I had him!
Glad your scan went great and the gender was not hinted at! You're very lucky really. It'll be such a great surprise in a few months! Now that I know my baby is a girl, I wish I would've waited and had the HUGE surprise but I couldn't. And neither could dh! Haha

I love that ur doing a 3D scan for your Mother’s Day present, see if u can share a pic! I would love to do one but I can’t seem to find the time between the girls and work and everything else.

It's really cool to see what they look like already! She has a double chin, chunky cheeks and even hair! The tech also confirmed gender and it was so clear that she said I almost feel bad for printing that one! It might need censored! Lol! Baby name search is still dismal, DH and I can’t agree at all. We are trying to find a perfect Indian name that works in a western society - we want to keep our heritage even while living in Australia.
To compensate I’ve been stocking up on baby boy clothes wayyy more than I realised . I just kept getting one little piece here and there and all of a sudden I’ve got two drawers full of clothes from 0-3 to 24 months [emoji85][emoji85][emoji85]

Ugh the name game is dismal here too. My dh and I like some of the same names but our favorites are different. Now we have 3 names but can't pull the trigger on either one! I have made a bunch of decor for her nursery and 2 of them will have either her name or initial...So I'm in limbo! Luckily I have nesting stuff to do! He said he's gonna pray and we will decide within a couple weeks so I hope he feels satisfied with one of the names we have now. Our names are Everly, Aubrey, and Elliana. All with the middle name Faith. My fav is Everly still but Elliana is a close 2nd bc the name means My God has answered. So we will see!

27 weeks now and in a lot of pain. Not sure if it is round ligament pain or just normal pressure but I didn’t have this with my first. I am uncomfortable almost 24/7. 13 more weeks feel like such a long time.

Thanks 4blue! I feel huge but I don't think the bump pics show it very well. I don't have to be induced, it's elective. It will only be 6 days early and I have been induced 2x before. It's just easier for setting up childcare and it ensures I will get to the hospital on time (unless she comes on her own earlier!). I usually labor fast. I know tho, 7 weeks is crazy soon! My ds1 my water broke and then my contractions started 30 mins later. My epidural didn't work and I had never planned a medication free labor. The contractions were insanely painful bc my water broke and nearly all of it came out so all the so-called cushion was gone. It was awful labor bc I had a 3rd degree tear (with 2 tears inside and 1 outside). With my ds2 I was induced bc he was measuring big and I didn't get an epi til 6 cm. Personally it was not near as painful and once I got the epi I had him within an hr. Same with ds3. So for me, it is not near as painful as regular labor! It's probably different ei th everyone 😊

an epidural that fails must be horrific, and the tears too!! im so glad you had really positive births for ds2 and 3, it sounds like you know exactly what works for you :) everything crossed for another great birth!!
tears scare me, ive been very lucky so far with no tears but it still scares me every time, my friend had her baby a few months ago and tore, she couldnt sit down and was living in the bath as thats the only place she found relief, it was awful for her :(
when they work properly do epidurals take all the pain away? such a stupid question i know but ive never had one and have always wondered what you can feel with one in :)

My friend just got a 1st degree from an instrument being pulled out incorrectly.
She actually had a section so is upset that she has stitches in both the abnominal and downstairs department :(
Ive heard that epidural can make tearing more likely, and coached pushing.
This will be my first natural delivery (if it goes to plan).
Would love to avoid stitches

an epidural that fails must be horrific, and the tears too!! im so glad you had really positive births for ds2 and 3, it sounds like you know exactly what works for you :) everything crossed for another great birth!!
tears scare me, ive been very lucky so far with no tears but it still scares me every time, my friend had her baby a few months ago and tore, she couldnt sit down and was living in the bath as thats the only place she found relief, it was awful for her :(
when they work properly do epidurals take all the pain away? such a stupid question i know but ive never had one and have always wondered what you can feel with one in :)
Epidurals take all the pain but you still feel pressure/urge to push if they're done right. I was watching a movie when the nurse checked me with ds2 and said I was ready to go. When she left to get the Dr I had the urge to push so I still felt it well enough to be able to push easily. I've never pushed longer than 20 mins with or without an epidural

There are probably some tricks to not tear or get an episiotomy but I don't believe epidurals cause you to tear more. I tore with my ds1 with no epi. Surprisingly he was my smallest and I tore the most with him. Only needed 2 or 3 stitches with each of my other ds and had a working epidural with them. Maybe it just depends on the woman too

Does it also depend on how your body reacts to the epidural.
My sister and Mum have had 4 between them and both needed forceps and help.
They said they couldn't feel anything to push.
Theyre both super senisitve to even Tylenol!
Reading your experience of still being able to feel to push, makes me wonder if the negative stories of epidurals are from women who were given too much, or are sensitive to it ?

I just want to let everyone know that epidurals don't always take all the pain away. Some people (sadly, ME!) they just don't work that well for - they are spotty and you may still hurt in some places. No one ever told me that and so it was really a bad shock when they didn't work for me. This ended up with the docs turning up the medicine so far I had a very hard time pushing. So just go in knowing that for some people they work ideally and for others you may still feel some pain.
RE tearing, while intuitively it makes sense that if you can't feel anything you would push harder but in my experience having both epidurals and natural births, when it's time to push, you want to push so badly that you don't stop for anything LOL. The stitches were no big deal to me I had some with an epidural birth and some with a natural birth and then some I didn't need any.

it sounds like the epidural really works well for you :) so you basically feel everything except the pain? thats really interesting!! i (wrongly) assumed you would be totally numb from your chest down and feel absolutely nothing.

Hi MrsSparkles :)
that is awful for your friend :( i didnt realize that they put anything down there during a c-section?!
for me, ive not really done anything to prevent it other than perineal massage (im not sure it makes a difference but after 7 tear free birth's im not willing to take the chance!!) ive had all my babies at home (most in water) never had any sort of coached pushing and all birth's have been completely "hands off" probably not much help but thats all i can offer really :)

Oh wow, I'm trying for a home water birth too.
How amazing that you have had such success.
Can i ask what oil you use for the massage, what week you start from?
My friend tried for a VBAC but had back2back labour so they told her she needed an epidural.
They then wanted to monitor baby with a clip on the head.
She said because she had the epidural she was so numb, they had to lift her into stirrups, and they used some instruments to try and get the clip in.
Good thing is she felt no tear until after the section that was for failure to progress.
She started to go backwards all the way to 2cm from 5cm.
Sounds terrible, but she is being positive

I'm sure there are some where a perfectly placed epidural doesn't work on them for some odd reason but the one sided thing is positional and usually the anesthesiologist will reposition it but pulling it back slightly and rolling the patient to the side it wasn't working on.

thats fantastic that your planning a waterbirth at home :) ive used a few different ones over the years, if you google perineal massage oil there's quite a few that come up, boots and mothercare both stock them online, id use one specifically branded for perineal massage (you dont want any type of reaction!!)
i start around 35 weeks, in all honesty i really dont like doing it, but at this point im kind of superstitious about it as daft as that sounds!! and i know if i didnt do it and tore id really kick myself, if i tear despite doing it then i know i did what i could to prevent it :) being mobile and also using water both help to reduce the risk too, severe tears are rare at homebirths.

Wow it’s so interesting to see how different everyone’s birth plans are. And how different each birth can be for yourself too!
I’m definitely interested in maybe trying water birth this time but idk how it might work if baby comes before DH has time off work... I’m going to keep everything pretty Flexible and relaxed as possible for myself....
I don’t think I’ll go for an epidural unless I really feel I’m not handling the pain well. I didn’t have any pain relief or water birth or anything really with DD1 or DD2.
With DD1 my labor lasted almost 24 hours and I was so exhausted by the end of it and I had a first degree tear. With DD2 I swear the whole process was4 hours start to birth, it was like being hit by a truck, I didn’t have time for an epidural even tho I asked for one. Luckily I had no tearing at all with DD2.
I’m hoping that this labor won’t take super long or won’t be 4 hours either .... maybe a nice medium length lol.
I’m so excited For all the babies to be coming soon! It’s surreal for sure.

How’s everyone feeling? Is it summer where u guys all are? It’s so cold and reaching peak winter here, I feel bad for bubbly to be born in such cold weather- we are getting into the negatives overnight.

Hope your little one doesn't decide to come during a snow storm. I am hoping for no tornadoes the day little missy is born haha.
We have settled finally on Everly Faith ❤ I am done with decorations but just need to hang them. Currently I am washing and sorting her clothes 😊 so many cute things! I have also painted tree and bird silhouettes on the walls. It's fun! Just the final prep now

Looking great Raising! I wish I was closer on my "to do" list but honestly I have started almost nothing. Hopefully that will all start to change as this weekend we plan to paint babies room! I am not really decided on a theme but I am forced to just pick color(s) to get it over with. Part of painting means I have to sell or get rid of the current furniture in there as it is a guest room now. Then I can start getting the baby stuff out of the attic from my first baby and slowly set things up. I still need to buy dressers and crib. I have 9 weeks till due date so I told hubby the next 4-5 weeks are all baby prep and then I can relax the last few weeks (hopefully).
Major stress lately with family drama and work. I am still in constant pain and doctor says it is just because I am carrying the baby so low and it is causing pelvic instability and stuff?? I don't know but I am really ready to not be pregnant even though I am no where close to be ready for baby yet. Fingers crossed all the pressure and pain means I will pop a week or two early. Debating if we do a 3d ultrasound this weekend just to see baby and help with the bonding.
How is everyone else doing?

Hey ladies! Baby Everly arrived at 1201 pm today after a quick and easy labor. I got an epidural an hr after they broke my water and then stalled at a 4/5 for an hr. Then suddenly, within the next hr, I was fully effaced and dilated and with 3 or 4 pushes she was out! It was so fast that I barely was awake during the delivery (I had fallen asleep during that hr right before delivery)! I was so shocked when she came so fast! She was 7 lbs 8 oz and 21 inches long! Just 5.5 hrs of induced labor! I've tried to Post this 2x already but it kept making an error when I clicked the button to Post. Here is a pic for you all!41764

How are you today? If you have to be induced, when will they do that? Hope all goes well for you either way! I'm excited to see your sweet baby 😊
Things have been going fairly smooth. It started out rough with only 2.5 hrs of sleep the 1st two nights home. Then 5 hrs (not straight) and it keeps getting better and better. I had tonwait her up last night to nurse her! I think what has helped is I don't switch sides each nursing session. I just nurse her on one side burp her and check her diaper, then put her back on the same side. That way she gets the fatty milk (hind milk) and keeps her full longer. And she lets me swaddle her whereas my boys never wanted swaddled. My dh also took off this last week and has been taking care of the boys, cleaning, and cooking...plus his chores outside (we have a farm). I don't know what I'd do without him and don't look forward to him going back Monday! Everly is a very mellow baby (so far)! So much so that dh has been worrying something is wrong lol. I'm hoping she stays so content!

Im sure it’s daunting to think of what everything is going to be like once he does go back to work but I’m sure it will all be ok.

Here r some pics for you all! She is still a sweet baby, very mellow. Even sleeping 4 hrs at night...great for sleep but hard on my boobs! Lol. Today is the 1st day with my dh bavk at work. It's been a good day so far, surprisingly. I definitely miss him tho, he was so sweet and helpful. More so than he has ever been after I had a baby. I'm wondering if he's pampering me bc of her? Lol he's already very protective over her and always says how fragile she is. He was never so worried over the boys. Almost like he's expected them to be tough from day one lol. It's so very cute to see.
Viola, hope baby girl gets in gear soon and comes on her own. If you have a pump, try pumping both sides for a couple mins. That can help jump start contractions good luck either way!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to update on my birth that happened Wednesday 24th July ! I was 40+5 and my obs gave me a stretch and sweep to see if they could help things move along, but I was already sitting at 3 Cm. Contractions started at 630, my mom was here to keep the girls by 7. Got to hospital 710 and my baby boy was born at 950. The last bit was horrible, the ring of fire and the burning is so bad. I just had gas no meds or epidural, but at 9 Cm right when my waters broke I was begging for epidural but it was too late. Baby came about 4 contractions after my waters broke. I feel so bad for DH and my midwife as I was crying and saying I was going to die... but obviously I didn’t and when baby came out I actually pulled him out myself and took him onto my chest before they could cut his cord. Baby was 3.4 Kg at birth. I had a second degree tear that seems to have been stitched really well as I’m not in any pain at the moment. We were sent home within 12 hours. Now for picking a name and having all the visitors over . Wish us luck! Baby’s sisters love him to bits as well. They want to name him flower-wower or Thomas lol.

37w5d and I am a miserable wreck. My stomach is so tight my skin hurts and the weight is just piling on even if a barely eat. My pinched nerve in hip/leg makes it nearly impossible to walk which means I am getting very little done these days which is the most frustrating part because I hate just sitting around. I want to be up and cleaning and nesting. I haven’t even packed my hospital bag yet. Doc said he might strip my membrane next week to help get things going. He will not let me go past due date since I am older which makes me high risk.
Prayers accepted that this kid comes out this week because mama is miserable. I know it will change once she is here, but right now I am not excited for a baby at all- I just want to be out of pain and not pregnant.

Girliecat, I agree, pamper yourself! Nerve pain is so annoying! And painful! Hope stripping the membranes work for you!

Hi everyone
I sort of loiter and pop in and out. I’ve been following the thread as I’m due September. I’m 33 weeks now so 7 weeks officially to go, but my csection is booked for 37 weeks (so 4 weeks time)
It’s our 4th and final. Can’t wait to be done in all honesty. So uncomfortable. Think it’s running around after 3 others in hot summer holidays [emoji19]
So nice to see the babies arriving. They’re all gorgeous!!! Congratulations guys - amazing news to all xxx

I am 39 weeks and last checked was 4cm but no contractions to get this party started. I am getting very impatient and feel defective that I can be so dilated but not go into actual labor. I only have a few more days because doc won’t let me go past due date, he will schedule induction this week if baby doesn’t come on her own. Come on baby girl- mama is ready to not be pregnant anymore.
Side note-I am terrified about labor. Hoping to go all natural again and knowing the pain this time is worse than the unknown the first time.

Girlie you can do this !
I don't know what kind of birth rights you have in the Usa, here in the UK you aren't eveb considered to be over due until 40 weeks, and then they usually let you go to 42 until induction.
France is 42 weeks until considered overdue, and lots of physicans there won't even think about induction until then.
What im saying is if you really dont fancy an induction, you could voice it to your surgeon.
Unless there is a medical reason to induce.
4cm sounds like your body is getting ready to go!

You 've got this girliecat! If you're already at a 4 then you're about half way already!! So once labor starts you won't have long...you can do it! But remember, there a no prize for a natural birth so if for some reason you decide for some meds don t be too hard on yourself! In the end, all that matters is a healthy baby and healthy momma. Good luck ❤

Girliecat, have you had your precious baby yet? C ant wait to see a pic!
Eerised, how about you? Still pregnant?
Little Miss Everly has been doing great. She's a good little baby and eats like a champ! She's already over 10#!! Shes not very fussy and most nights sleeps 5-7 hrs straight. It's been a fairly easy transition. How r all the other precious babies?

Sorry I am so late to post- Baby girl was born 5 days ago on the 20th. I had to be induced and it was both good and bad experience but we made it through with no pain meds and a safe vaginal birth.
The shocker was that she was 9 pounds 11 ounces! Crazy big baby which explains why I looked like I swallowed a watermelon and I was in so much pain all the time. Glad to not be pregnant anymore and amazed at how much I love her already. Newborn stage is hard and breast feeding is not going great but taking it one day at a time.
Who is next up to have their baby?

If you have posted on here about it then I'm sorry! Chalk it up to baby brain and lack of sleep! 🙃😉

She is absolutely gorgeous!!! So happy for you GirlieCat!!! I hope breastfeeding gets easier for you both. I always found the first 6 weeks to really suck. HA HA! I'm glad you made it through your birth mostly the way you wanted. I've been thinking about you. Hugs and love to you and your family!! :bighug::HH:

What a beautiful name GirlieCat!
Perfect choice.
I am feeling massive and already ready to have this baby.
Have had a rough pregnancy, spd and now carpal tunnel in my wrist.
So I will be so pleased when she is safely here.
