So I think I will be getting a positive opk shortly in the next days, Im wondering if sticking to diet is extra important around the time of conception or if it matters just the same at any other time of the month. I feel crappy enough as there were a few days this past few weeks I went over my fat limit thanks to my sweet tooth. And I keep dreading the fact that last night I had a plateload of cafeteria food with alot of chicken and then ended up having m&ms and popcorn at the theaters for a girls night out. Since this is a drastic change from my regular diet (I havnt ate cafeteria food in months) and around the time of conception, does it ruin a sway? kicking myself right now

I don't know the answer but try not to beat yourself up too much. I get extra hungry after I have ovulated and it is a huge struggle not to overeat - I think it is the progesterone so you aren't alone!

No. Diet is NOT more important around the time of conception. If dieting only for a few days made any difference, we'd all only diet for a few days! And we see very, very clearly in our results that people who dieted for 2-4 weeks (even though most of these people were very strict) had by far the worst results. Whereas those who dieted for 12 weeks or more have by far much much better results than the 2-4 week people even though they virtually all relaxed on the diet quite a lot over time. Given this, there is NO earthly way that a day or two of being off the diet matters at all.
It is 110% normal to have a boost of appetite around ovulation. This happens to ALL women around the time of ovulation. And yet most people get boys and girls without even trying!! So it just can't be the case that a few cheats even aroudn O could make any difference at all. Just set it aside and move on!
