Hi everyone, very early days but a positive is a positive so will post what I did, using Zanacal's way of writing it up.

USERNAME: Chocolate
AGE: 27
DH'S AGE: 29
CHILDREN: 2 Boys, 3 and a half and 13 months
NO. MONTHS TTC: 1

DIET:
I basically ate white rice or pasta with a small amount of unsalted butter and parmasan cheese, lower salt bread with butter or a tiny bit of parmasan, muller light yoghurt, for the few weeks before O. BUT - I thought I ovulated on about cd19 ish and we went to Butlins then where I had already paid for buffet style food, so the day of arrival I had a chicken burger and chips (1 to 2 days before Ovulation) the next am I had a fry up brekkie (1day before ovulation) and then had something like chips and sausage for dinner - then I ovulated on the Sunday. So the days before ovulation I ate meat, chips and fatty food. Just hope the month before of starvation worked in my favour. I weighed the least I had weighed since my teens, I think I lost about 8 pounds over a couple of weeks and ended up weighing about 7st 12 around ovulation and my normal weight from a typical over indulgence diet was about 8 stone 6 pounds. We are normally heavy red meat eaters and have alot of take-aways and chips so this diet was a huge change. My OH basically cut out most meat and potatoes for the few weeks before but not alot else as his PH was 7.2

ps - I drank tons of diet coke but always have done
EXERCISE:
None

POTIONS & PILLS:
Saw Palmetto -the cycle of pregnancy from af to O

Low Dosage Aspirin – every day until after ovulation then realised it was best to do 2 to 3 times a week so am doing that now

Folic Acid – recommended daily allowance

Antihistimines – Zirtek before ovulation for about 5 days straight

I took some b6 and zinc but cant remember doses

POTIONS & PILLS FOR YOUR MAN:
Licorice root - 3 tablets a day from cd1 until ovulation confirmed so about cd23
Baby asprin the evening of attempt

TIMING:
Had planned for a 7 day abstinence and either cut off or 0+12 - ended up as a 5 day abstinence and dtd on the Thursday night and reckon I ovulated Sunday so 2 to 3 days before O. Also jumped and dumped, probably lead there for about 40 seconds and then got up and most of it was underwear so I actually wiped some back in lol as thought there couldnt be any in there as it was that shallow. I told OH to leave his deposit as close to the outside as possible. Missionary position and no O for me. For the boys I think I had a big O before or after dtd, and a few the month of trying, but this time I hadnt had one for weeks and weeks.

THINGS IN YOUR VG:
I used replens, thought Id used too much! I think I used a bit daily ish up to days leading up to O then practically a whole applicator about 3 hours before Ovulation

Did you track your pH, if so, what was it before the attempt(s):
Yes, ranged between 4's and 7's, mostly settling around 5.4 or high 4's but around ovulation this went up to about 6 and combined with OH it was about 7 ish even after replens it was high ish. But with the boys I used pre-seed and did the deed with lots of ewcm so hope that was the key to having boys. OH's PH was 7.2 ish. Hardly had any ewcm compared to normal

Anything else?

OH wore tight boxers, hot baths, is a smoker, has been working 15 hour days 3 days a week plus 2 normal length days so lack of sleep, over-worked has been doing this for 5 or 6 months.
I ovulated on a full moon! But did tons of negative ions just incase, bees wax candles, rock salt lamp on all the time, negative ion arm bracelet, lavender soap, rose quartz heart under pillow at night, windows open where poss. took lots of walks along the beach around O when on holiday and it was as windy as hell!
I have PCOS so hormones are out of whack, probably more testosterone than most. The s.palmetto reduced some stray chin hairs and I noticed this grew back quickly once stopping the s.palmetto .Stopped breastfeeding about 2 months before falling pregnant.

Im only about 11 days past ovulation and got a positive test at 9dpo. If all goes well Im not sure if we will find out the gender, will probably still think boy even if told girl or would worry about problems going wrong if I heard girl, bit of a worrier me!

Would I do anything different if swayed again?
Yes, I would ensure I had ovulated before eating boy foods! Would do a 7 day plus abstinence and maybe try for 0+12 for first try but dont think Id calculate this very well at all. Would do the diet for 6 weeks before Ovulation.
We thought I was pregnant this month of trying and decided to wait till March to try again to give better girl odds and get over the xmas food, but got a bfp

Pregnancy symptoms so far:
Thought I had to be pregnant when my chest veins went bright blue and stood out.
Slight sore throat
Aching breasts

Currently 11dpo so hoping they intensify and have had a hcg and progesterone blood test done as had 9 day lp's the last 2 cycles.

My guess for girl/boy: I really dont know, I thought girl with DS2 but was very wrong lol. I think I probably swayed girl a little bit more so the odds would be 60/40 girl/boy but think the PCOS strongly sways boy.

I will update with other things as I think of them

Good luck!

Is a bright chest vein something a lot of women notice? I have a pretty noticeable chest vein because I am so pale, but I've never paid much attention to it while pregnant. I'll have to look more closely at it from now on.

Thanks everyone, yes my chest veins are so much more obvious in pregnancy, as in I couldnt wear a dress without feeling self conscious as it just looks like my kid has got a blue pen and drawn on me lol. Def. my very first sign to come out :-)

Had results from 10 days past ovulation - hcg was 14 and progesterone 75.5 not sure if thats good but repeating the hcg after 48 hours so should know next week what thats doing. Also my temp is rising which is fab. and Im knackered - boo!!

Edit to say:spoke to fertility specialist who said the hcg was borderline chemical but I said my cycle is a week behind what most would be from my lmp as ovulated a week late so Imnot concerned about hcg of 14 at 10 dpo, but she also said going on those dates the progesterone is excellent :-) Just did another FRER test and the lines were darker and I had a line on the cheap tests where the hcg is 20 or 25 so my levels must have risen since the first test. So all happy now for the time being

Hey IndigoViolet, all good thanks, not feeling really pregnant yet as not really starving or sick or exhausted but tiredness comes and goes, hcg levels are good although the nurse is quick to reassure me not to pay attention to levels its the scans that are accurate, miserable cow lol.

Levels were:

10 dpo - 14 hcg
12 dpo - 64 hcg
14 dpo - clearblue digtal showed 2to3 weeks pregnancy (so 4 to 5 weeks) and the range it shows that is 201 to 2000 hcg
17 dpo - clearblue digital showed 3+ pregnancy so 5 weeks plus.

Doubling daily or more - still wondering twins lol but also read high hcg's can indicate molar pregnancy. Although mine arent really high, just doubling very quickly. Still thats reassuring.

Have a scan at 6+1 weeks, will come round fast!

Is a bright chest vein something a lot of women notice? I have a pretty noticeable chest vein because I am so pale, but I've never paid much attention to it while pregnant. I'll have to look more closely at it from now on.

Yes, this can be an early sign because your body starts immediately producing more blood and dilates blood vessels to hold it. This is also the reason why many of us get faint early in pg - our blood vessels dilate before our body has made enough blood to fill them and so we get lightheaded very easily.

Not just in your chest, also in your winkie region! Some women's labias turn purple before they ever get a BFP. And anywhere you've had a varicose vein can become more prominent after only a week or two of pg.

Thank you, will accept all the pink bean dust lol.

Have my 6 week scan tomorrow, not sure if I feel good or bad about it, just dont particularly feel overly hungry, no nausea only had 1 day of possibly having nausea, I am very tired but thats about it really. And I dont really need to pee anymore lol.

However, I am telling myself that I will be ok either way, and if the worst scenario then it means I am getting another chance of improving my sway, and will get to sway over summer. If its good news then Ill jump for joy that the last 2 weeks of exhaustion is for a beautiful baby!

Will update tomorrow, scan is at 8am

Chocolate, I think i'ts a good sway! No sway is perfect, u did what you could!

Have you decided to find out the gender or will you obsess over nub shots at 12 weeks? I love looking at nub shots on here!

Scan went well, was very small so didnt really get a good idea of size but nurse estimated between 5 and 6 weeks and Im 6, heartbeat seen too. Didnt get to ask about placenta position but I thought maybe it looked more just off centre to the right which would suggest boy but I really dont know, she just seemed to scan from my middle and saw it then said lets check the rest and went to the right and didnt see anything else, just the 1 so far lol.

Not sure if I will nub obsess or not, I wouldnt want to hear anyone say blue lol and DS2 had the most obvious boy nub,no guessing girl on that! And you wouldnt think 50/50 after seeing it so if that happened again the suprise would be over.

Thanks nini - each pregnancy for me seems to bring less symptoms, although I feel much more tired this time and very lazy - hoping that means lack of testosterone so girl ha ha! Thinking boy though as no sickness and generally no symptoms apart from tired, but I know people do have girls with little sickness etc. I just have a feeling this is a blue pregnancy. But to be honest, Ill be grateful to take home a healthy boy, and am soooo looking forward to stopping work and just concentrating on my family. DS1 starts school in Sept. so although this baby is inconveniently due on the 3rd, in a way its a blessing because it means I wont be working around the time DS1 starts school.

Had a gender scan today and its another boy. Not feeling particualrly great or positive right now so will leave it at that.

I wont be swaying again, if we do ever have a 4th it will be through high tech, but hopefully I can learn to just accept it.
