No. You can have EWCM for many days before the true fertile window even opens. And even for a couple days after ovulation sometimes.

Ohhh. I was wondering the start is the first day of FW and the end is the last day of FW... Will see to it now

No, it would be handy if it was true but unfortunatley it isn't the case.

Good afternoon..
So tensed atomic. My cycle length is 27 days, I used to bleed for full 4 days.. ll pretty much have an idea of when I probably ovulate.
Problem here is that, this month my periods are too light.. Today is my cycle day 3. I didn't bleed like before even for 2 days (maybe because of the LE diet) Is this normal?? Will that fluctuate my fertile days or ovulation??
I seriously don't have an idea of when I should do the opk??? Which cycle day do you want me to start with opk??
Please help atomic:-(

That is very common with pink swayers. Many of us noticed our periods became lighter when swaying pink, myself included.

The length of your period has nothing to do with your fertile days.

I'd like you to start OPK CD 8-10 so you can see them go from negative to positive. In future months when you're used to them, you can start them later.

Atomic help ASAP..
I just did the OPK and I got a +line, the test line is same colour as the control line. Is it the best time to do my one attempt?? Or should I wait till tomorrow for the line to get darker??

Yes it is fine to TTC with no EWCM. Many people hope for that with a girl, although I'm not convinced it matters. (I got pregnant with no EWCM, and I didn't even realize I had ovulated even though I was testing pH 2-3 times a day. I got a boy despite that!)

Attempt now! It's your first positive, not the darkest.

Sorry to jump on is it the first time a second line appears you attempt or when the lines become the same darkness as each other?

Thank you atomic. Thank god EWCM doesn't matter much..

Last night was just worrying what to do and then popped in your reply at the right time.. I did my first successful one attempt..
Just hoping for BFP now... Fingers crossed:fingers::fingers:

the tests are not positive till the lines are equally dark. So it's actually when the lines are at minimum the same darkness.

Faint lines are negatives.

Hi, I want to ask about OPK too. Our girl sway will be this month. I really need help. I watched my OV 6months with OPK. When I get positive OPK, I think that day arrived ovulation. 2 years ago using this method we caught our boy (no sway at all). My cycle is 23-25 days, positive OPK 3 months was on 11 cd, other 3 cycles on 14. I think supps using (cranberry, vit C, Ca, Mg citrates) could affect this. Whent I need to do my attempt? DH will abstain at least 11 days, I am on LE diet(also no red meat, patatoes, bananas). Thanks a lot.

Good luck TA!

Thank you atomic. Glad that I did my attempt on my first pos OPK. Coz last night I had my ovulation (lot more pain, twinge than ever) If I had waited for the line to get darker then it would have been too late definitely, I would probably have missed a good chance this cycle..

Thank you for your advice at the right time..

I never ever recommend watching your cycle for months with OPK for this very reason. It changes every month and there are no patterns!

The important thing is to do one attempt. Timing doesn't work, and whatever reasons you got your boy, it wasn't because you had one attempt. So do that one attempt for sure. Then, if you want to try timing, have an attempt when your OPK is dark but not yet positive (or use a Clearblue and have attempt on the second "flashy" day, not the "peak") Or you can just have attempt the day of positive since that's not why you got a boy OR, you can just have an attempt on CD9 and again on CD 12 so you could have a small cutoff whether you O on CD 11 or 14. (but of course your O can still come CD 12 or any other day!) The important thing is the one attempt. Your choice to make.

Thanks atomic. I think I have a boy, because we dtd every day or every other day all the cycle after my period, so I strongly believe in one attempt and I'll do BD when OPK will be dark, but not yet positive. Thanks for answering.

So is the right timing for a girl to dtd at the first positive opk? This for me seems to be the day before ovulation Thanks

Timing doesn't sway. It doesn't work and has been completely debunked by scientists using modern technology. Dr Shettles died 20 years ago and all the people selling things in his name are simply repackaging his old information (which has been debunked) and reseling the same thing. You can read a full case against timing here. https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/7691-trouble-timing.html

If you want timing, that's your option! Just plan to have attempt 2-3 days before you expect to ovulate, and then pray you actually ovulate that day! But we have found that it's really having just one attempt that sways, no matter what day you have it on, and so we have our attempt at the first positive OPK since it's a good time to conceive with one attempt.
