I grabbed the first bottle at Wal mart I saw of SP ...and when I compared it to the notes from here that AS wrote, my dosage is off :(((

It's Nature's Bounty, 450 mg.

Is that ok? I took one last night, but just curious.

SP for swaying should usually be standardized extract and at or above 85% fatty acids, in most cases. There are a few forms of SP, but you want ones that are softgels because they are filled with the oil/extract.

The one I use has 160mg per softgel. Your form of SP sounds like it may be different than the one recommend for swaying based on the dosage per tablet? Softgel? Capsule?

The dosage that we normally use is 320. I am a little wary of the higher dose because the one girl that was taking quite a high dose ended up with high estrogen (and the explanation of why that might be is in the SP essay).

I kinda think it's ~probably~ fine (and I, being a cheapskate, would almost certainly take it) but really the most tested dosage is 320 and I like people to stick with that or less, simply because we have more experience.

Mine is not a softgel cap ...it's a clear capsule w/ herb looking stuff in it.

Oh...atomic...I too am a crazy pyshco cheapskate and forfeiting the $10 I just used to buy that bottle will make me wriggle like a worm on a hook for WEEKs!!!! (or until DH gets paid again ;)

I just looked at my bottle and is says it has 320 mg SP (good) but it also has 30 mg zinc -- apparently 200% daily value. Is that a "good" nutrient ... and therefore one to avoid? Or am I okay with this product?

Not only is zinc possibly something that sways blue BUT 30 mg of zinc is TOO much for women and might make you sick.

In the SP essay, there is a little bit about how taking zinc with SP ~tenatively might~ help your body process the SP in ways that might help with your sway (I'm assuming that's why it was included in your SP) BUT this is really a big unknown and if it was me, I would try to find a brand without the zinc in it.http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/7108-saw-palmetto-peppermint-tea-licorice-root-depth-how.html

Good to know! I haven't even opened the bottle, so no harm, no foul -- other than the $7 or so I'm out. *shrug* Off to find a zinc-free kind!

Plus, chronically eating/taking zinc (which is in fairly high doses in the cough drops, yes??) is not good for your overall health either. You can OD on Zinc!!
