Out of the Blue
January 12th, 2012, 10:32 PM
Probably one or two more times but now I'm tempted to use more RepHresh if we BD multiple times...I really want a BFP this time though so more may be bad. I put in 1/2 an app in this a.m. and swore that would be all I'd use but now I can't make up my mind...Guess I have a few days to figure it out. We'll be using Sylk to.

Wow this thread is moving along fast! I have been so busy the past couple days I haven't had too much time to get on.
OOTB - Good luck on your attempt :pinksperm: We wait for the time to come and then we freak out when the time comes haha I would use sylk if you have that when you dtd or fingertip replens or rephresh.
Pink - The waiting game sucks i know, Hope this is your month but if not temping is a great way to know what your cycle is doing.
Katie - Good luck! Hope you O soon :)

Going to do better on the diet today to counteract all those biscuits last night!

pinkin - what do you have to lose from trying an O+12 attempt?
pinkin2011
January 13th, 2012, 04:50 AM
My d/h has not released since the 10th when we dtd, I said to him can he release and then we dtd later but i dont think it will lower count enough?
rainbowflower
January 13th, 2012, 05:00 AM
it will, if you DTD within 8hrs of his previous release it should halve his sperm count
pinkin2011
January 13th, 2012, 05:13 AM
ok should i do a jump and dump also?
pinkin2011
January 13th, 2012, 05:15 AM

rainbowflower
January 13th, 2012, 05:16 AM
yes, or DTD a few hours before then :) (better than leaving it too late)
I'd J&D after 5 mins or so

Ootb/Rainbow//suregena-how are you feeling? Any o signs?
Not in the slightest, too early! I used repHresh for the first time on the night of the 11th... do I do another one tonight or tomorrow?
I have a massage booked using a gift certificate/voucher my mom got me while she was visiting in October, so I have an appointment Saturday morning (14th) and I told her I'm TTC this month so she is doing specific types of treatment and massage to promote relaxation for that purpose. She seems a bit like a very in tune woman, that's why my mom bought me a voucher. I had booked my mom to have a pamper day with her and my mom had the most healing, amazing experience that she had to get me a voucher, too. I've saved it until now! The massage lady says she is going to do massage that incorporates aromatherapy specific to my needs, reiki, and shiatsu. I should O around the 18th. :)

It's officially CD11 for me. I'm going to try to keep myself busy until this afternoon. DS3 has his 2 year wellness visit with the doctor at 10 a.m. and then we're going out to lunch with an old friend at 1 p.m. Hopefully, it goes by quickly!! I have a feeling I still won't get my positive, but a girl can dream.

How did it go last night, pink?
Anyone have good pink-friendly dessert ideas/recipes? Having people over tonight for desserts/drinks/snacks and not sure what to make. Thanks!

meringue nests with whipped cream and strawberries!
MMmm, do you have a recipe for these?
rainbowflower
January 13th, 2012, 09:25 AM
there isn't really one... you can buy all of the ingredients separately from the shops
like these:
http://www.walkersshortbread.com/OnlineShop/productimages/718M-300w.jpg
you can whip some single (or double) cream with a whisk and put that on top, but you can also buy pots of it ready-whipped or use squirty cream
then just top it with some strawberry slices or raspberries

Pinkin, I would sooo do an o+12 attempt, you have nothing to lose! And maybe a BFP to gain :)
Katie, why if you get preggers this month, would you wait until August? just curious? :)

Thanks, all for your support! I didn’t expect O to come this soon but who knows…it may be long and drawn out like last time. I got 4+s in a row in December but I O’d on the 3rd + according to FF. Since I just really want to be done w/swaying and have a healthy, growing caboose in my belly, we’ll just continue to BD through O, I guess. Poor DH was so exhausted (day 8 of FR and lots of Liq. Root) but we got it done! Last time, I was using (abusing) RepHresh EVERY DAY but this time, I'm definitely not going that route and will use 1/2 an app 3 days from now if I think I need it again. :fingers: for a :pinksperm: to come my way...Little girl, GET IN MY BELLY!!!
As for my “Hail Mary” attempt at lowering T via classical music, I was thrown for a loop. My nice, calm  classical music station was playing some really lively stuff this a.m. so I just turned it off. I was really starting to get into it (as were my boys!) but I was afraid of the outcome.
Pinkin, we did use Sylk in the last cycle. We always use it b/c I’m so dry now and I like the extra little pH drop it gives… So sorry you’re sick :gloomy: but it sways in your favor, though, especially if you’re Oing now! Did you get that 0+12 in? You can certainly get preg after 72 hrs…It’s totally possible!
PurpleSky, you’re right…everything is planned and we get so relaxed and then when it looks like O is coming, we go a bit mad. It happens to me every time, no matter how set in stone my plans are and how relaxed I am.
Suregena, that massage is going to be so beneficial to you and that relaxation will be a perfect touch to your sway. What great timing! :agree:
Katie, my little guy will be 2 yrs in a month (Valentines Day :awe: …my little cupid)…I can’t believe 2 whole yrs have gone by….and I’m not preg w/#3, LOL! You’ll get that +OPK…Just try to keep your mind distracted and stay busy! Have a fun lunch today!
Amari, I really like Rainbow’s dessert idea…Now I’m hungry and want to eat that but it’s only 09:30…:( Something similar could be angel food cake (or any cake!) topped w/lite coolwhip + low fat cream cheese + strawberry jam. I make this for DH and he loves it. Adding the cream cheese really makes the mixture taste even richer.
Aurorara, I :awe: your ticker...:) Grow, little poppyseed!!!

Hi ladies! Hope all is well this Freaky Friday the 13th!
I am 3DPO according to FF. Care to check out my chart (siggy) and tell me if you agree with my O date? Wondering if me and my Diva did the trick this month? I am still so crazy for doing that, but oh well there's always next cycle. Anyone else ever hear of using the Diva cup like that for about 32 hrs +/- starting on +OPK cd15? I guess it's an IG sway and not for GS?

KD, I think the temping looks good on FF, and you seem 3 dpo....and i don't think the diva is crazy, you gotta do what feels right to you! That is the most important thing I learned about swaying whilst being here....Good luck! Hopefully you'll showing us a shiny BFP pix soon!

HAHAHA!!! I will definitely do that when he gets home. It's 3:00 p.m. here so I have a few hours until he is home. I'm going to try to relax as much as possible before then.
I used RepHresh two days ago and was planning on using more tomorrow. Should I go ahead and use just a little now?

Oh my God, I could cry. :( My husband organized this (his friends visiting) without THINKING and they've just arrived (they've left my house now to go check into the holiday house next door to us they're staying in tonight)...
She was going on about how she bought us lovely vegetarian food and is making us a vegetarian (because we're both vegetarian already) BREAKFAST tomorrow. SO close to O. I COULD CRY.
I've put so much effort into this month and now I feel like I shouldn't even attempt. Ugh, I was hoping she wouldn't go to her normal crazy foody level because we're all broke, but SHE HAS.
I feel all sorts of despair right now... because I can't NOT eat it tomorrow! It's likely to be eggs, toast, butter, mushrooms, tomatoes, veggie sausages, baked beans (an English type breakfast...), etcetera...
AHHHHHHHHHG!!!!!!!!!! :tissue:

Surgena, how close to O are you?
I do believe (but you still gotta do what feels right to you) that having breakfast ONE day will be OK...maybe try to eat just a small portion so she's not offended? That breakfast does sound good though...yum yum!

She'll make up the plates... that's how she does it. Ugh. My husband suggests just swap my meals, i.e. treat it like "dinner", then have a teensy lunch (and if they want to go out, find an excuse) and then skip dinner... which sounds like the more obvious thing. Faking a stomach ache sounds great but it would also offend her, seriously. I don't want the stress. I was hoping she was going to come here with no foody plans.
I'm supposed to O on the 18th....

Why is that? Is it because of the 2ww and low glucose thing?
I hope you're right. I have all sort of DOOM IN STORE TOMORROW. My husband doesn't think, bah. She called him and organized this visit at the start of my sway and I was like, "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!" but couldn't cancel, it's her birthday and she wanted to spend it with us. :/
I have dreaded today. She is very into food and cooking.
I shouldn't have eaten at all today!
I guess I wouldn't feel bad if I was further away from O... on the start of my AF or something, but... it's crunch time!

Don't worry suregena! We went away to Legoland the weekend before our attempt and I ate breakfast in the hotel - it was only the second time I ate breakfast in the 3 months before our sway! I ate a normal lunch but I only had a small snack between lunch time and bedtime, so I just made sure my blood sugar was extra low at the other end of the day. It really needn't be a deal breaker!

Katie, Pinkin, you are both officially in the 2WW. Congrats! Hope it goes quickly.
Pinkin, if there were any sperm waiting around from your O-3 attempt, they would have jumped at the egg as soon as it was released. But if they weren't still around, then your O+14 would have had a chance to catch it before it died. GL!

Of all the days to cheat and struggle, I chose today... OF COURSE!! I enjoyed lunch with a friend I had not seen in months, and refused to not enjoy my time with her. I don't really care though, honestly. I know plenty of women who have daughters that didn't follow some crazy diet. If I am meant to have a girl (which I pray I am!) then I will get my girl.

amari...still a few more days right?
Hope...I think of you often...let me know how you are doing! It is time to dream and achieve for you!!!
Just wondering what you girls think...we did not do FR, it was not a good idea for us last month. Should we stack it up to o or just try a few times with full sperm at 0-3 and 0-2 or 0-1?????
Thanks and good luck!

Lemon i had my d/h do f/r for like 21 days straight and i was so stressed over my attempt that i made my o be delayed.. andyway ended up with a 3 day cut off and my d/h hadnt released for 3 days after that first attempt. i ended up doing a o+14 ish attempt today with d/h only releasing once before we dtd this morning!! so against what my sway was going to be but in the end we all want another healthy baby hey!?

Don't worry suregena! We went away to Legoland the weekend before our attempt and I ate breakfast in the hotel - it was only the second time I ate breakfast in the 3 months before our sway! I ate a normal lunch but I only had a small snack between lunch time and bedtime, so I just made sure my blood sugar was extra low at the other end of the day. It really needn't be a deal breaker!
PHEW! That's good to hear! Thankfully I remembered my massage is booked at 11am and told her, and she said they'll cook it after I'm back so it will be more like a brunch/lunch, so that's good. She brought us cupcakes, as well. :sigh: I'll save that for tonight with something else minimal... but hopefully they don't have any grand plans but they might. :/
I'm going to have to drastically cut back in the following days... near-fasting, probably (okay, maybe not, but really stripped down), to have a decent effect. Really make sure my blood sugar drops before each meal.
But hopefully all the other sway things will still help. I can't afford to skip out this month. I guess I should just soldier on, as I am okay with a boy, but I do hope to have a good chance for a girl!
Yesterday at work I had a bit of twinging near my left ovary (?!) so I'm probably going to start testing after I get back from the massage just to check. But AF only ended mere days ago so maybe it's just getting ready in there...

Mocha-that happened to me with my second, then it started up again about a week later!

January 14th, 2012, 11:58 AM
I can get a scan at 8 weeks if I request it, but that's 3 loooong weeks away. The reason I'm so nervous is because my MMC in November was a symptomless pregnancy.
I do have some of those expensive 'Detect5' tests I can use that show HCG levels up to 10,000miu. I used my first one today and only got 500miu, which is making me even more nervous since that's low for 5 weeks. I did go back and look at it later, and there might be a shadow of a line on 2000miu, but it also could be an evap line since I think it appeared after 5 minutes. I'll take another test in 5 days and will pray it will show an increase.

Mocha, do not worry, I am having same worry that you are having...the week i got my BFP I had non stop cramping and/or tugging and everytime I ate sometimes, it came back in the form of nasty burp / indigestion (sorry for TMI...) I got worried thinking I was going to get MS before 6 weeks, but now this week, it's been so tame, and I almost don't feel pregnant anymore, I had another FRER leftover from my 3 pack and the test color is way darker than the reference color now! So it was a bit reassuring...I am trying not to freak though, because I feel at this early stage of pregnancy, symptoms can come and go...
Mocha, I would definitley get a scan at 8 wks, that's what I'm doing.
Kaite, so glad you got an attempt in! Just one attempt the night of pos OPK , right?
Lemon, we love you, and I understand if it's hard to be on thie site, but anytime you can drop by and say hi, we'd love hearing from you!

Thanks, auroara. I did take a digi clearblue to try to ease my mind, and though 'pregnant' came up immediately after I dipped it, once it finished processing, it still only said 2-3 weeks pregnant. I guess I should have waited a few more days since there's a lot of overlap between 2-3 weeks and 3-4 weeks (note that they give the number of weeks since conception, not since LMP).

January 14th, 2012, 12:52 PM

It didn't sound so bad besides the sausage, right?
Well, it was veggie sausage (I'm already vegetarian)... so, it shouldn't be too bad. Luckily I found out where they did their shopping so I'll plug it all in myfitnesspal to check the damage.
Three fake bacons, two veggie sausage, some baked beans (half a cup's worth probably) a small tiny tomato, a little bit of sauteed mushrooms, 1 slice of WHITE toast, 1 egg.
However, my husband got home from the pub and said they were off to the store to buy things for "dinner"... luckily, by the sounds of it, it's a lot of "nibbley" things... so I can make my own plate up... but, grr, WAS going to try to not eat anything but maybe jelly beans tonight! Oh well. They don't leave until tomorrow evening, either. :(
Hubbo is going to FR up to three times on his days off, to make up for the dietary disasters.

Hi everyone,
amari- If you are on clomid I think it makes you o later than usual; however, it sounds like already o late so maybe it will come sooner! I od on cd17 and 19 when I used clomid.
Auroara...what did your final sway look like?
OOTB..haven't heard from you in a while...I thought you were in the 2 ww. What did you end up trying?
Hope- time is going slowly right now!!! It seems like forever ago it was Christmas but now that it is January....and winter seems to have arrived in Canada it is going slowly!
I have a few questions for everyone...I am using vitex natural factors with 80 mg. It is standarized so I thought it made a difference but then I found standardized 400 m g. I am confused on how many to take!
The bottle says 1-3...but that is hardly the 800-1000 mg that everyone seems to use.
Does aspirin replace cranberry???
I am cd 10 and will ovulate around cd 14. Although the last 4 months it has been either cd 12.5 to 15.
We have abstained this month; DH does not like releasing.
Do you think I should keep abstaining and then try one attempt????
Not even sure what day to try.
I know a lot of women get pregnant with a 3 day cut off but maybe not as likely at 38 (Just turned)...groan!
Our DS 2 was a one shot attempt with a 2 day cut off (more like 1.5) and was a surprise oops!
I want to try this month but maybe not super hard....we just booked a trip in March!
I would regret wasting a month at my age.
Should we try 0-4, 0-3 and 0-2???
Or keep going to 0-1? It is just the work week and we are too tired and stressed to keep going...weekends work best for us! So, the cut off would be just for our sake of reducing pressure during the work week. Maybe we could just do 0-3 and 0-1?
I know timing does not matter...but we want to try something different as most women do. It just means less regret I guess!
Any advice???
GOOD LUCK 2 WW ladies!

Amari~ Thank you for asking. I am doing soooo much better. I have my :fingers: that it lasts. My flare started right after my attempt in November and I kept getting better for like a week, and then getting really ill again. I think part of the problem is the minute I get better I go back to full speed...working like crazy, running around with the kids, food shopping etc.etc.etc. and wasn't allowing myself to get fully better. So, I have been trying to take it easy...which is hard for me!! I like my house clean, things done right away...
Anyway, so far so good and my meds got dropped down (the ones I need to get off of) and I'm still doing well. Need to step them down again too. Going back to doc on Wednesday. Hopefully, can step them down again.

Lemon- The baby aspirin 81mg replaces cranberry. You get the lowered PH without the added nutrients. Here's the vitex I use:
Amazon.com: Solaray - Vitex Chaste Berry Extract, 225 mg, 60 capsules: Health & Personal Care (http://www.amazon.com/Solaray-Vitex-Chaste-Extract-capsules/dp/B0001VVGLU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326574009&sr=8-1)
If you are doing Abstainance and multiple attempts after the first attempt I would probably have dh release before a 2nd and 3rd attempt. I think overall you need to decide how many attempts your comfortable with so you don't start stressing and increasing your T levels.

Actually less than 10% of pregnancies come from dtd with a 3+ day cut off and those women are not swaying and probably highly fertile. Doing something different implies what you were doing before swayed blue, and as timing doesn't seem to sway that seems unlikely but timing could stop you conceiving at all
Have a read of atomics "trouble with timing" post
I take 800mg vitex at the moment but still saw an improvement when taking 400mg a day

I can't use the dieting/healthy eating as an excuse... and my mum knew about swaying before Christmas and had asked if me I'd stopped that "silly diet". Just weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 91lbs, so she will definitely notice my weight loss.
What sort of meals do you think could be pre-prepared?
my mum actually likes to get take-aways in so she can "treat" us, usually a Chinese, so might have to just avoid the meat dishes?

veggie lasagne
chicken curry+rice (using WW sauces)
tomato pasta, perhaps with sausages and I'll pick most of those out of my plateful
and lunches:
cheese on toast
crackers + cheese + apple
sandwiches/pitta
do any of those seem particularly obvious? last time she knew I was doing the diet I did risotto and philli pasta for them so I know that that will give alarm bells for her

Mmm, I think the fact that you weigh about the same as some anorexics may be a giveaway about the diet! I like your meal choices, but I think it might be best to come clean that you are still swaying (as she has known about it previously), but mention that it won't be for much longer, so she knows you won't fade away?!

Pasta! I have been doing a lot of pasta dishes and you can do sauce on the side and make a leek and mushroom saute for yourself. Then do a side salad for yourself too. Good luck!

KATIE!!!! how have you been?? Missed you today!! do you think o has happened yet?? have you got any cramps? I have had af type cramps today prob nothing but you never know!
DS3's birthday party was yesterday, so I didn't get on here at all. Cramps seemed to be less than Friday. (Friday cramps were pretty bad!) I woke up with some cold symptoms on Saturday -- runny/stuffy nose. I slept off an on for about 14 hours last night, which is not normal for me. I'm lucky if I sleep about half that any other day! I don't really have any cramps this morning, but I still have runny/stuffy nose and I'm also feeling a bit constipated. I read that can be a side effect of Zyrtec, and I've taken it 3 times now (Friday, Saturday, and now on Sunday). I think I'll take it once more tomorrow and then be done with it. I'm also going to use a little RepHresh tomorrow just to be on the safe side. I'm not hard-core dieting, because it's just too hard... but I am trying to not eat with my regular habits. Other than that, I'm just hanging out and hoping January goes by quickly!!
How have you been? You feeling better about your attempt?

Ooh, pink!! I forgot to mention one thing that I noticed yesterday... I don't remember the time exactly, but at one point I noticed a bit of cramping (not bad) specifically toward the left and not in the middle. Does that make sense? Like, it was coming from one ovary rather than both? I don't even know if I am making sense, but I swear that's what I felt!

It actually DOES NOT mean that you ovulated from that side. Your ovaries develop 15-20 eggs in each ovary per month and only the biggest one or two get released. Both ovaries are very large and swollen at ovulation and can be very painful. There is no way of knowing from O pain when you ovulated or from what ovary it was from.
If Zanacal sees this, she may chime in but if not, she had O pain on her right side when she conceived and then later ultrasounds showed she had actually Oed on her left side!

It's ok, I realised I'm a complete idiot anyway. When I went to upload some pictures of my Detect5 test (which I'm now convinced actually do have a line at 2000miu), I saw my original BFP pics and I noticed that my original CBdigi said '1-2 weeks pregnant', so my test DID show a progression when it said '2-3 weeks pregnant'. Duh!
Anyway, I'm feeling a lot better about the whole thing today. Here's a pic of the 'Detect5' test, by the way - am I crazy that I see a line at 2000miu? Yes, it could be an evap, but in real life you can definitely see pink colour in the line.

Katie~ i tracked O for months with temp, regular and digital OPKs, and the OVacue II. I always seemed to O 2 days after a +opk. The month I actually had an attempt FF and the Ovacue II showed I O'd the same day. To be honest, I don't think we can ever really know the exact day even with all the advances. Don't think it matters anyway, because timing does not sway. As long as you were close enough to catch the egg to get a BFP is all that matters!

I had just never noticed before and figured it was worth mentioning. I knew someone would be able to chime in and tell me something. I got my positive OPK on Friday and that is when I had the strongest cramps. Can you get a positive same day that you O? The day before (Thursday) I had three negatives, but I have not tested since Friday
I think it's definitely possible, especially if you catch the tailend of your surge with the OPK. However, you should also know that the cramps don't always necessarily indicate the moment of ovulation. I was surprised to discover when I started charting with temps that my cramps usually come about 2 days before O!

If Zanacal sees this, she may chime in but if not, she had O pain on her right side when she conceived and then later ultrasounds showed she had actually Oed on her left side!
ok thanks AS glad you asked that question katie,

Anyone have any tips for surviving when non-dieting non-veggie takeaway-loving guests come to stay shortly before ov? My mum and 1 sister will be visiting next weekend which is probably just a few days before ov!

I dealt with this when my ILs visited last May for a week a couple of weeks after I started the diet. I managed it by being very sneaky. Instead of putting all the food on the table and letting people serve themselves, I plated all the food in the kitchen and so was able to give myself something slightly different without anyone noticing. The night I made burgers for everyone, I made myself a portobello burger and had it all ready to eat in an identical bun, so no one knew I was eating something different. You could probably do the same with pasta - make theirs with a taster sauce but the same type of pasta and maybe no one will notice you're eating something different. I also made lots of girl-friendly side dishes like roasted sweet potatoes, salad and rice and filled myself up on those, hoping no one would notice I wasn't eating any of the meat.

Hi everyone,
Well, we had one attempt so far and I need advice!
We wanted to try this month, but maybe not super hard...we booked a trip with the kids in March. I would be 10 weeks if I got pregnant this month. However, we also did not want to have any regrets about missing a month considering I just turned 38.
So, we had one attempt on cd 10 after abstaining. FR was too hard and as we got closer to o I think it starts to jeopardize the probability of getting pregnant. I am not sure but it was hard on DH to dtd that much by himself! Anyway, today I woke up with a super dark positive OPK. The ones I get the day I o!
So, I figure I have now done one attempt at 0-1.
We conceived DS2 with abstain, one time bd 0-2 or 1.5. So now I am nervous.
Should we keep bding?
(I did not use rephresh or J and D btw).
Any advice?
HopeandDreamG
January 15th, 2012, 12:35 PM
You can add another attempt- I would have DH release now and dtd later if your worried about sperm count. If it also makes you more comfortable you can add a drop of rephresh. What does your gut tell you? Think about whether you will be glad you added an attempt or if you would have rather left it alone!

I feel really bad, because I have not kept up with the thread to well, but ladies I am feeling blue today. I know you all are the only ones who I can talk to about this, so please bare with me and listen to me cry/rant.
I have just come to the realization from my last yearly exam that my enlarged uterus might be the problem to me not being able to get pregnant. I did not have this with my other children, so maybe I have worn my uterus out? My OB did an ultrasound the year before this and it was okay, just enlarged, but can the enlarged uterus be keeping me from conceiving? I mean why would it stay this way. I have horrible heavy periods, so of course I am anemic! I am just starting to think that I am not going to get pregnant again. I just feel like my pink dream is over. I am in the TWW, but don't feel like it will be a BFP. Does anyone know anything about if an enlarged uterus can cause you not to be able to conceive? We go on Clomid next cycle and I am thinking I am going to forget everything. DTD as much as we can. No jellies really, maybe some SYLK. Take my meds and pray it works. Any thoughts?

No, DS 2 was an oops baby!
so you wernt doing all your other sway things hun so you have a very good chance of swaying for your girl, JMO but i strongly think a one off bed preferibly with 0+12 along with diet and other things sway girl, you have to make the decision yourself will you stress with the one attempt you put in because of your last pregnancy outcome or would you stress adding a 0+12 or whatever would be too much, if you do have another attempt i agree with H&D have your husband release a 1 or 2-3 of times inbetween x

KD, when your OB told you about your enlarged uterus, did he say anything about it impacting fertility? I would think if it would prevent pregancny he would mention it to you as a FYI. Did you google it and read more about it? I'd want to find out as much as I can about it.

Auroara,,,how many attempts did you have?
I am not sure...if we leave it as it is 0-2 and abstain which is supposed to sway. I have done the diet for the most part as of late but not over Christmas. I did not j and d so hopefully it takes as I would be in the fertile phase. I am not sure if dtd again will help or hinder my sway!
How are you feeling?
What did you end up doing?
KD.....I agree with auroara....I have no idea what an enlarged uterus means. Was it just bc you have had previous children or is it a condition? I think bding several days up to o is perfect. We wanted to try that so we started at cd 10 and thought I had 4-5 attempts to go but now I am due to o today or tomorrow.
So, not sure if leaving it is best as we had abstained or go again!

Hi KD. I read that an enlarged uterus can be caused by fibroids or adenomyosis (common after C-sections). As usual on the internet, some things say it can cause problems with conception and increase the risk of m/c and others say you can still get pg and carry a baby to full term. I would have thought the doctor who prescribed you clomid would have discussed the uterus with you if they thought it was a problem? Can you call them and ask a few questions? Can they suggest any treatment for it? Would a physio recommend any exercises to help? Even if you don't have a problem getting pg, it doesn't sound like a fun thing to live with, so surely there are ways to manage it?
I hope you get some answers soon. Take care. Hugs x

Amari, how exciting! Your DH seems to have been doing really well at the F/R, so I would be inclined to BD tonight without an extra release first. Thanks ladies for all the info, advice and concern for me. I have looked up the enlarged uterus and I am just scared I guess. My doc saw this on my last exam and did do an ultrasound, but it was okay. I have had 4 c-sections (big babies) so more than likely this is the cause. I guess my doc wants me to try the clomid and see if that works before going further. I really did not think anything of it at the time, but as I keep thinking about it, maybe this is my problem.

Amari, the fact that you got the smiley means you definitely had a LH surge, so O will be happening soon. I can't remember what you are taking, but I barely get any O pains these days. It has all changed since I started taking vitex. But the BBT still goes up the day after I have had mild cramps and mild tenderness over my ovaries.
Auroara didn't think she O at Christmas, but then she got a BFP. For some reason when we are analysing everything so closely, our bodies like to play tricks on us I think. Very frustrating, but you will O soon!

I have no idea. It's an inhaler so beyond its affects on his lungs/breathing, I'm not sure.
He was only recently diagnosed asthmatic... he wasn't on anything with our son, so maybe it will be okay.

And I meant to say, with the clear blue digitals, you would only get another smiley if your LH surge was higher again than the first detected surge. The fact that it was negative the second time just means the amount in your urine is slightly less than the initial surge. They work a bit differently to the normal 2 line OPKs.

I read somewhere that if you use the digitals you can get a - after you get a + IF the LH isn't quite as high as it was when you got the +. It doesn't mean you're suddenly not ovulating, the tester just goes off that +. So your LH surge would have to be even higher to get another +. Does that make sense?

I know it's stressful, amari. The same thing happened to me both BFP cycles this year - I O'd later than I expected and started to dtd too early. Personally, I chose to keep dtd because I really wanted to get pregnant and was worried I'd miss my surge since my body was giving such mixed signals, but I'm sure you could also start getting dh to release on his own again until you get that +OPK or are sure O has happened. Do you temp?

I really wanted to get even more atempts in, or make him release, but my DH was barely able to have sex that often..his sex drive is in the pits because he is overweight and feels "unsexy" and doesn't want to have sex anymore. Amari, you got a +OPK, so just keep going with your original plan. If you are waiting to get another +OPK, I think you might miss the egg altogether. There is a thread about the clear blue digital sticks. Once you get your first +, then you know O will happen sometime within the next 48 hours. I know the ones you mean as I have the same ones. So, now I am all paranoid I missed O or something (probably not)! But I'm still so paranoid! I'm bringing tests into work tomorrow...
I'm supposed to O on the 18th so I would rather O late than have O'd early.
I had a very light tinge/pain a couple days ago, which is what prompted me to paranoia of testing. But I'm hoping it was just stuff doing its business but not yet that time. My period ended on the 11th...

Suregena - have you been checking your cervix and cm? Did you have ewcm around the time you had that twinge?
I doubt you've missed O, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
suregena
January 16th, 2012, 06:02 PM
I haven't been checking it! I was sick last week/this weekend plus we had those visitors for a couple nights so I was always so tired and barely could think straight!
Sigh, will just keep testing. I knew I should have tested sooner...
Though that would be REALLY EARLY to O, wouldn't it?! If I started my period 5th Jan and it ended 11th Jan, and my cycle is about 27 days?

January 16th, 2012, 06:04 PM
Can urine that is not concentrated matter? i.e. like with pregnancy tests where concentrated urine is preferable to unconcentrated, for accuracy?
Mochagirl
January 16th, 2012, 06:04 PM
As I said, I doubt you've O'd. Just keep taking OPKs and start checking your cervix and I bet it'll come around the usual time. Good luck!

January 16th, 2012, 06:05 PM
I'll go check my cervix now... what would it be like post ovulation and what is it like pre ovulation, if anyone knows??
Mochagirl
January 16th, 2012, 06:11 PM
urine concentration definitely matters. You should try not to drink anything or go pee for 3-4 hours before you take the test.
As your body gears up to ovulate, your cervis should become softer, higher and more open and your cm should become watery or ew. After you ovulate, your cervix will become hard and closed, and your cm should be creamy. I usually have about 4-5 days of ewcm and an open, soft cervix before I actually O, but it's different for every woman.
suregena
January 16th, 2012, 06:16 PM
Well, from what CM I could get from around the cervix (as I have been taking cetirizine 10mg) seemed stretchy/slippery but there wasn't a ton of it. It took the length of my fingers to get up there, so it must be high. So, hopefully, that's all a good sign. Sometimes it's been hard for me to be able to tell from hard vs soft but I think it's fairly soft-ish? Obviously my cervix feels slightly different post first child so hard to tell open from close, ha!
Fingers crossed I'm just being paranoid. My urine tonight was definitely nearly clear, though. I'm SO paranoid missing the window! Hah!

Hi girls,
I am in a bit of a medical dilemma....I assumed I never got pregnant this whole time bc of replens, rephresh, douching, shallow or missed timing...yes, I am absurd...I honestly just thought it would happen one month. I was sooo fertile with DS 2 and ovulated super early with a one time attempt two days...and it all unfolded like clockwork.
But, now I am ovulating/ovulated and I actually have a swollen ovary and it is sooo painful. It hurts to touch it and even DH noticed it was swollen. It is even visible as being swollen. I had PCOS and I am just wondering if anyone out there can help...?
What is this all about?
We dtd two days ago and if I am not in too much pain we might try again. We have a good attempt...no "stuff" to get in the way. We actually tried last night but the kids and then the dog interrupted....5 times and by then, well, the mood was over! lol!
Anyone have advice for o plus?
Or, do you think I have cysts?
Maybe that is why I am not pregnant.
Anyone???
Amari...those smiley faces are based on the previous levels taken. If you get a smiley stop taking them as they will be negative unless levels rose again. You can save them for next month!
Surgena: I think with changing things up with vitex or supplements or anything like that it can change symptoms. I can't help with the cervix issue though.
However, I started cd 1 on Jan 5th and today I ovulated!
Dinner is ready...I will check later though everyone.
PS: katie....false symptoms are still good symptoms...stay positive and excited:)
You are very cute and a good mom already to #4!
pink? where are you?
Mocha...do you have any advice as an over 35 swayer? Hope you are feeling well!

Amari~ I just caught up on this thread for today. I agree with everything peonyprincess said to you and would have said exactly the same thing. I've even called the clearblue hotline to ask about this. Once you get the smiley you are going to O. If you do not continue to get the smiley it just means the LH surge is not higher then when you first caught it. Hope that makes sense.

Lemon~ I don't think anyone can tell you if you have a cyst on your ovary. Even a doctor can't tell you that without doing a sonogram. For all you know it could be another organ all together! It is possible that all the "stuff" used to sway is what decreased your fertility, which is exactly what we want it to do, and why it sways girl! I think you need to make a doc apt as soon as you can.
Where are you with O? I don't think there is any advice for 0+ except if you wait too long you miss the egg all together. I've read a lot and it seems that women you get pregnant by 0+ are probably closer to O then they even realize. So don't worry about the timing and if you feel well then go for it, if you don't feel well thats another story.... Wish I could help more.

Hi pink...I think you and Katie are too cute!
Seriously, cute by picture and by your excitement. You are good mommies:) I am jealous as I am 10 years older! Now, I am just paranoid and busy and tired!
How are you girls doing?
Hope....I have done everything possible not to get pregnant and hoped my little girl would creep up there,,lol. This month we were more casual as we have a booked a trip in March to Florida...wooohooo!
However, I need to know if I am infertile or just plain stopping the process!
I am in pain and I really really feel like nothing but a hot compress, a glass of wine and bed!
What to do? I certainly know time is ticking! I cannot keep this up...it is torturing me!
I know there is no scientific reasoning to timing, but it is all in my head!
I had cysts before being diagnosed with PCOS when I was first married at age 25...now I am 38!
My doc mentioned that I might experience pain bc cysts were rupturing but did not seem too concerned.
Pink..how do you figure you were o plus?

Lemon~ didn't realize you had cysts. That makes more sense. You still have a chance of a BFP from the attempt you already had. I still think if your pain is that bad you should go to doc.
HopeandDreamG
January 16th, 2012, 08:21 PM
Lemon~ I would start a thread. If you didn't have pain I would say def go again. The possiblity of a cyst makes me unsure. I think people are going to say to take care of your health first, but I think you'll get more feedback starting a thread.

Thanks, ladies! I wish I had dtd at 5:30 this am instead of waiting for 11 am. Hope this didn't mess things up. We did it last night at 11:30 pm too though. I just don't feel like I o'd! Which brings me to lemon..
Lemon-I get reallly strong pain in my ovaries, hurts a lot. I don't have cysts though. You could go to your ob if you are concerned though. Did you get any attempts in this time around?

Hey Hope,
Just chatted with DH and I am probably on top of o right now and in pain.
I just don't get it....pink....u get the same pain?
I actually cannot sit down it hurts too much.
I already asked a naturopath about it and she had never heard of it.
A few people have said it hurts to sit down on their butt, but literally I cannot sit down....I am not sure if people are in as much pain. And, if they are, why is that?
We might try later...it is Monday and the kids are being BRUTAL!
It is hard to try for a third when the two you have are a handful!

Amari...could it be the clomid that is playing tricks?
For some reason in November I had very few symptoms but I am not sure why!
Thanks for the input....I am not sure if I have cysts and I guess I need to persist with my doctor.
In Canada it seems you have to push for what you want as a lot of it is free.
I have strong pains as well as pain when I sit down!
We had o-2 or less...I am confident with the one attempt....if I am not infertile.
If I am, then I guess I have bigger things to get around.
I think in the past I made sure it did not happen and I am more relaxed this time around.
If timing does not matter then I hope I get the egg!!!!

I saw the sweetest little girl outfit at the store yesterday and I had to force myself not to buy it. DH says if we get a BFP he is going to buy it for me though. I stood there in the store, staring at it for the longest time, just imagining putting it on a little girl 9 months from now. Anyone else have a secret stash of girl clothes?

lemon - make sure you call your doctor tomorrow! I don't know anything about PCOS, but you definitely shouldn't be in pain like that if there's something they can do to help! I'm sending you some baby dust, though, and I really hope you caught that egg! :pinksperm:
katie - I still have a stash of girl clothes from when I was pregnant with my twins 6 years ago. I was CONVINCED they were girls (we didn't find out the gender) and bought a ton of girl stuff, telling me I could return them if they ended up being boys. Well, once they were born life got busy so fast I never got around to returning them, so now I still have them all in a box. If this bean isn't a girl, I'll finally have to let them go because this is definitely out last baby.

Pink and lemon-I was just reading about it today on the internet because of my lack of o pains this month. I don't get the pain in the bum that you are describing, but I do get the severe pain in the ovary and mine lasts for days. But, I did see that it can be normal to have trouble sitting. Though it is always good to have those things checked out to be sure.
Katie-That's how mine has felt this month, just very faint cramping. It is weird to me and has been making me feel like I'm not really O'ing! We didn't even dtd early this am like planned, (we did do it around 11 thank goodness or else I really would be kicking myself).
I feel like pink has felt, not confident. I guess you never know though.

Lemon - I know the pain you are talking about! I get bad O pain every single month. I actually thought I was O last week because I got a confirmed O on my monitor. But then on Saturday my O pain started, sunday they got worse and today pretty painful. This morning I got another confirmed O on my monitor (i'm sooo confused) also got my first +opk today which makes me believe last week was a fluke or something and I'm really O now. Anyway there have been some months where my O pain hurts so bad I can't even walk straight up ( i have to lean over a bit)
I hope you feel better soon. If you don't get a bfp this cycle I would bring this up to your Dr. and see if you can get a sono next cycle around O time to see if there are any cysts during O.

Hi girls, sorry i havent been around for a while, there was stuff going on at home (DP is reluctant to have a 3rd and basically said he cant do it) so i avoided coming on here:sad:. i didnt want to hear all you lovely ladies talk about TTC when i wasnt even sure if we would be. Well, thankfully, DP and i talked it out and he understands how much it means for me to try for a girl so he is back onboard. :cheer:Phew!!
So, I am currently on CD14 and am expecting to O in the next couple of days. We are abstaining and doing 1 attempt. I know that it has been said that if you are doing other things to sway then timing doesnt really matter, but i am just wondering how long after you get the smiley face LH surge (from a Clear Blue digital) should the attempt be? What has everyone else decided to do? I'm not sure whether to BD as soon as i see the smiley or wait 18hrs or so. Hmm, too many decisions!
Katie, Dannikins - iam so desperate to buy beautiful girl things but i just cant bring myself to do it. I really feel like i would be majorly jinxing myself if i did. I just dont know how i will go if this one turns out to be a boy - yikes!
Also thought i would add that i am STARVING!! And would seriously consider giving both my arms and legs for some decent food right now!
