Hi,

I'm new here. I'm hoping some of you can give me some opinions on a recent private scan I had that was supposed to tell me gender but left me more confused than before. I was 15 wks exactly for the scan. I told the tech I already had 5 boys. The baby was not cooperating and had it's legs crossed and even had it's hand down between it's legs at one point. I had to roll to the side, was being poked and prodded and even got asked to get up and walk around. Finally about 20 min into a "10 min" paid scan I thought I saw a classic "3 hamburger lines" but then she moves the probe and freezes the screen to what looked like a longish thin line and two smaller lines behind and around it. I immediately said "Oh another boy". At which point she "confirms" and proceeds to show me another shot she supposedly got earlier in the scan to point out the boy bits. The shots she showed me were really blurry and out of focus and I really couldn't see what she was saying was penis. Anyway, here are the scans I was given. Should I be certain I'm having another boy or not give up hope yet?

i can't tell from your pics they are blurry. im leaning boy off what i can make out but im not 100% or anything. im in the same boat as you. soon i will go in and find out if im having dd#8. i have a very strong suspicion its another girl but the ladies here are telling me i have a 98% chance for a boy. but i forgot to tell them im on to hubby number 2 so im not sure what my actual odds are. i trust mothers intuition, not what you want, what you are feeling inside. good luck to both of us. large families like ours with all one gender are rare. we're just extra special is all.

The last pic is supposed to be a potty shot I guess? I would guess boy off that one but it is so dark. I hope you didn't get charged and if you did, cal and complain and go back for another scan. None of these are confirmation.

I see why she's saying boy...but PERSONALLY, I think that the "penis" she's pointing too is...waaaaay too far from the pelvis to be one. I don't see anything that I would identify as "classic" boy. I don't see anything that would make me lean boy. Actually, it looks like the baby's hand is down there or the umbilical cord...or something.

So...I wouldn't give up hope yet.

I never even thought that it could have still been bub's hand still down there. Your right it could be fingers. It looked really long, thin and far out between the legs to me as well. I remember my other boys being specifically penis shaped, not just a thin line.

I was so upset when leaving the place that I just stuck them in my purse and just looked at them the last couple days. I'm going to call them today and say something. I'm also going to ask how much experience the tech has b/c she seemed really "green" and young. She couldn't have been older than 20 or 21. I doubt they'll give me another scan though and I really don't know if I want one from them. The worst part is that it was my Christmas present from DH and now he feels bad b/c it's caused me so much stress.

These shots are terrible for gender determination and in my opinion aren't giving any clues. 50/50 from me, good luck :)

Really bad shots but for me I would say no gender signs since they are to hard to see anything. I hope you get a better scan.

On another note I know someone who had 5 boys (told girl and a few) and then on the youngest ones birthday she had a girl. She was told that the baby was a boy and was super surprised on d-day. Anything is possible!

Oh I could only hope!! I have a sinking feeling that this LO is going to keep his/her goods under wraps until D-day, then SURPRISE either way! I really hope that doesn't happen but it literally had it's little hand covering down there and I have NEVER had a baby do that. It was crazy!!

I think I can spot boy bits in the last one, but it's too dark to be sure.

they look boyish to me but I would wait for the 20wk scan or get another one to confirm because they are very blurry bad pictures, I so hope its a hand and its your baby girl
