...Will I have a boy or girl? Can I choose the sex of my baby? (http://www.sexratio.com)...
It basically bases its guess on what gender you are likely to conceive iwthin the next 5 weeks on the emotional state of the woman....

interesting..., not good for me, though!
Out of ten possible categories, your score put you in Category 6.
Of all the women who have taken this test so far, 8% have had scores that put them in Category 6.
Of those women, 75% of them have conceived and given birth to boys, and 25% have conceived and given birth to girls.
So for you we would predict, if you become pregnant within the next 4 - 5 weeks, you would be 25% likely to conceive a girl and 75% likely to conceive a boy.

I have been playing around a bit and basically the more insecure and depressed you chose the emotional state, the more likely you are to conceive pink.

For me it said...
Out of ten possible categories, your score put you in Category 2.
Of all the women who have taken this test so far, 15% have had scores that put them in Category 2.
Of those women, 15% of them have conceived and given birth to boys, and 85% have conceived and given birth to girls.
So for you we would predict, if you become pregnant within the next 4 - 5 weeks, you would be 85% likely to conceive a girl and 15% likely to conceive a boy.
.... better be right because now I have my hopes up!

I'm pretty depressed and emotional... but I also ticked some of the happy ones as well as the sad ones because even though I'm depressed/stressed/anxious my DS makes me so happy and proud

From what I gather on the site, the author of the book bases her theory purely on testosterone levels....

I think it's interesting and fun and even based a bit on science BUT I think that testosterone can be changed by diet and supps (and there's a heck of a lot more to gender ratio than testosterone anyway!!) Let alone that the best data we have also indicates the man brings something to the table as well.
The problem I have with this site is that anyone who kinda knows what the "right" answers are, can simply skew their responses (even subconsciously) to get the outcome that they were hoping for, KWIM?
Look at it this way - Michelle Duggar was the same person when she conceived 4-5 boys in a row as she was when she conceived 4-5 girls in a row!! Not like she had a personality transplant any point in there!!

Ok so now I went and took the test and I'm a little concerned because it also has you enter your age and the number and gender of your previous kids...which evidence indicates can indicate to some extent your future kids (some studies have indicated that the more kids you have and the older you are, the more likely your chance of a girl). So I'm not sure how much stock to put into the psychology test anyway!
Here was my result
Out of ten possible categories, your score put you in Category 3.
Of all the women who have taken this test so far, 20% have had scores that put them in Category 3.
Of those women, 20% of them have conceived and given birth to boys, and 80% have conceived and given birth to girls.

I agree, atomic sagebrush, its way too easy, but its definitely one of the more interesting tests out there....
Interesting, the more kids the more likely to have girls.... I recently saw this report on a lady who has 10 kids. First 5: 4 boys and 1 girl. 2nd 5: 4 girls and 1 boy. One good thing about aging....

I took it and it gave me a 65% boy and 35% girl chance....and I'm almost 36 and DH is 39.....very interesting. But I did mark a lot of power stuff like responsible and proud, etc (mostly due to job) but happy stuff. I marked a few frustration points due to the infertility stuff. Still got a blue lean. Hmmmm.

Her theory is that hormonal levels in women decide the gender of the child (which is partially true). Typically a woman that lets say leads a more dominant life style (for example a "career orientated woman" that works amongst men) can have higher testosterone levels and thus is more likely to have a son. A woman that is at home, "inferior" to her husband, might have lower testosterone levels. I remember reading about a study that showed that women with a more positive outlook on life or leading a prosperous lifestyle is more likely to have a boy. It all makes sense, but its not as easy as the test suggests. Please dont take it seriously! Hope you will get your girly real soon xxxxx

Ok, first I was honest. I am very happy and proud (I love my job), I ticked lots of strong and happy words. The same for my DH, he is in a good mood too.
Result was: 85% boy. Category 8.
Then I did it again and ticked all the depressing words (I'm not depressed though). Now the result was Category 2 and 85% Girl.
Now when I conceived my son's I was depressed, and when on antidepressants after birth (didn't wanna take any during pregnancy)
Now I just came off antidepressants a month ago and TTC a girl. I hope it won't make me depressed even if that would increase my chance for a girl according to that test.
But the Testosterone... I always had high levels of this, taking BCP that counteracts this as otherwise I have breakouts even at 30. So once I will get off the BCP I will definitely need to use something to keep my testosterone low. I believ it plays a part.

Mine said I was more likely to conceive a boy! I guess my life is so different now to when I had my girls. I work full-time in a high stress job and care for 5 kids pretty much all alone most of the year. I take on most of the responsibility in our lives and have to be in control and super organised. Nothing like I was with the other 5...not sure that will make me actually produce a male though.

I wouldn't say I was depressed, my life is slow lol I am a sahm that does the same boring thing over and over everyday, but I am content with my life, I am hopeful and know I will have my life when my kids are grown but right now I love my life being all about them, my life is peaceful and very little stress, I didn't check what I thought was depressing , maybe because I didn't check all the exciting or outgoing ones? (I believe it said 85% girl I replied on the 1st page)
