View Full Version : Rephresh/Zyrtec = Not getting pregnant?

Ok, I need some help and advice with Jan month's sway (estimated O on 1/17). I'm starting to wonder if using Refresh or the Zyrtec (I took on suspected day of O and following day) is preventing pregnancy and the sperm having nothing to swim in. The zyrtec REALLY dries me up to the point that there is nothing, just bone dry in there! Should I remove them from my sway?

As much as I'd love a pink sticky bean, this month is not so much about swaying anymore but about getting a BFP. This is my last month to try for child #3 bec I honestly don't want to give birth past 41 years old....that's my cut-off (and I turn 41 in October). SO....any thoughts? I tried O+12 for 2 months (I think we maybe conceived that first try but it didn't implant, bec I had a bunch of pregnancy symptoms and then a very strange AF that I've never had before - very light and bright orange for 3 days?), the second O+12 attempt was a complete bust. Then for Dec, we just did frequent BD (bec my boys were infrequent BD) on girl moon days - I know ridiculous ...but BFN, and AF arrived a few min ago. So I will probably throw that moon theory out the window too. I'm thinking BD everyday starting from O-3? DH will do frequent release on days not BDing starting today. And maybe insert Refresh on O-4 or morning 12 hours before BD on O-3? Or skip the rephresh too? What do you think? Maybe I should replace rephresh with sylk lube? I really don't need to be killing any spermies at this point, right?

p.s. I have a 25 day cycle. AF lasts about 3-4 days, then dry and starting around D6/7 have EWCM which peaks on day of OPK about day 11/12 then it's just water for about 2 days, then dry. I suspect I O on day 12ish (but I don't temp, don't have O pains, so not completely sure).

I'd try and use RepHresh at O-2 and then drop the zyrtec. I know AS disagrees with me on this because having no CM is more natural, but I believe that the swimmers still need some CM in there to help them get through the cervix and uterus and in a natural environment there would always be at least some!

I agree with rainbow (although I'd probably use the Rephresh at O-3 before your attempts), if Zyrtec is making you THAT dry. It didn't dry me up completely - even in combo with Benadryl.

First of all if you are 40 years old DO NOT DO o+12. I know you already dropped it but for anyone who hasn't. I have never seen a single soul over the age of 38 get pg with O+12 and few enough under 38.

I think you need to drop everything and TTC every other day for optimal chances of pg. Do not use Zyrtec, do not use RepHresh, just get pg. Do not do cut off. DTD every other day THROUGH O. Forget swaying and just get pg because if you cannot get pg, you have NO chance at your DG.

Well, a lot of people don't dry up completely from Zyrtec tho. I agree that the OP needs to drop the Zyrtec, AND the RepHresh BOTH.

Ok, why every other day instead of every day? What day should we start on? Should DH still release (on his own) on the days we are not BDing? Just tell me the best plan to get pregnant. I'm on board with just getting preggers, boy or girl, may the strongest swimmer win! :)

DTD every other day will allow DH's sperm numbers to recover on the off day. Don't have him release those days.

You will want to time it to have the max number of attempts in your fertile window (and may even take a chance on DTD two consecutive days. So I would say DTD every other day starting 5 DBO. So attempt on 5 dbo (that's a longshot), 3 DBO (still a longshot), 1 DBO (this is the "golden BD" LOL), and then again on O day in case you release two eggs and miss the first. I would also suggest you prop hips for 5-15 min after BD each time.

Please everyone note this is not the advice I usu give pink swayers, this is for getting pg more quickly, NOT swaying.
