Happylea- sorry you didn't hear girl. I always feel when there is an "opposite" that I don't know what to say. Because sorry doesn't feel right to me. Can't explain well what I mean it just doesn't sit well with me. And I know when it's my turn if it's a boy hearing congrats is gonna bother me too. It's a no win. My heart goes out to you. When I see everyone going over the nubs and going into the gender scans so afraid that's gonna be me too. I guess I want to say I totally get it. We ALL do.

Thank you ladies for your kind words, i have stopped crying for now. I am ok and sure i will be ok, i know i will have my down days but i know i will love him no matter what.

We did our very best at swaying and it obviously wasnt meant to be and if he got through everything we put his way with all the splime and supps and creams he deserves to be in our family.

I have sent a message to foxy and coldwater to have a look at my potty shot as people on IG aswell as on her are not convinced that it is a willy. Im not getting my hopes up tho.

Really ladies dont worry about it, my hopes were raised before the scan not now. I didnt see scrotum at all in scan just the long thing which tech said was willy. Wasnt as clear as DS3, i will post pic in ultrasound to get more opinions.

FWIW, in profile my DD at 16 weeks had a "long thing" but that was just her clitoris. Truly though if you didn't know better you'd have thought it was a willy, it was so long! But totally flat to her spine in profile. Since yours is a potty shot it's not the same, but I do agree with others that it is not the clearest potty shot I've ever seen.

It sounds like you're moving towards a good place with the news though. I know (and LOTS of ladies here know) how hard it is to have a sway opposite. Was this your first sway?

HappyLea
May 21st, 2012, 02:57 PM
I did a slight sway with DS3 with cut off method but this was 1st propper sway. What's meant to be is meant to be, dont get me wrong im upset that i will never get that mother/daughter bond that i so wanted.

Just been looking at baby pics of my boys and they are so damn gorgeous im sure this one will be also.

Oh HappyLea, I did the same re: baby pictures and it helped me too :) I think the gender desire is persistent and mine is def still here, but the overwhelming sadness I felt in pregnancy is nearly completely gone. It's so hard to stay sad when you're holding a precious new life. Will you have another scan at 20wks?

yeah my 20 week scan is at the end of june, so obviously will get confirmation then x

FWIW your 1st 3 boys are gorgeous... and I think 4 boys would be amazing; it was my ideal to have all boys. :hugs: I know it wasn't yours but know that there are LOTS of mama's who think your family is dreamy.

Oh HappyLea, I am not surprised you thought this was your little girl. After all the girl skull guesses and having that gut feeling, you can't help but hope this is it. We all know what it feels like to want a specific gender so badly and we all wish that everyone will get what they swayed for. Perhaps you were meant to keep giving the world the most adorable boys ever, which only you can do.
Like you, I want to have that mother/daughter relationship. I try and remind myself that my DH has a great relationship with his mum. Most of all don't forget that you did a great sway. You did everything you possibly could, but this little boy was even more special than the girl you were hoping for. Sending big hugs from sunny Darwin, Australia.

THIS. EXACTLY. I know it doesn't always help to hear people tell you that, but truly, 4 boys is exactly what I always wanted as well. I think you are so, so lucky. I know everyone says they want the mother/daughter bond, but I don't have a great bond with my mom, so I guess that never was something that I cared about. I think a mother son bond is pretty great too. :)

PP, are those pics from your scan the other day? They look like Weenies to me. Did they say they couldn't see any parts?? I would go back and get confirmation! If those are boy parts, then I'm sorry you didn't get the news you wanted. :(

Ok, so I have a date for my 20 week scan. Not sure if I will find out gender, but if I do, I will let you all know. Thurs 28th June it is and I will be exactly 20 weeks. I am really happy as DH will be able to be there that day and I don't have to go back to the u/s place with the horrible tech. I will be seeing a different OB in the private hospital who specialises in u/s. And apparently he has 3D as well, so I may even see a 3D picture (although my boys looked like little old men in theirs!) It is a long way off still, but gives me something to look forward to.

She kept telling me hands. I am the one that thinks they are boy parts. I am going to show them to the tech who is doing the anatomy scan and see what she says. I am hoping she could get a better view. I think the other tech was just not as experienced as she should be to guess a gender or get a good view. Maybe Friday will bring better news.... I am going to ask for a potty shot and a side shot of a turtle but I am still hoping for no turtle.

Oh, HappyLea - I'm so sorry about your back! I had a bad back I jury a year ago - I fell on the stairs and got a contusion on my sacrum. It was miserable! I really hope it gets better soon. Can your dh take a day or two off of work to help you at home?

Oh Happy Leah I am also so sorry about your back. When 7 months pregnant with DS#2 I was washing my hands at the sink and leaned over in a weird way and then felt a *pOp*.. OMG just excruciating back pain after that! I had to go to the ER, I was so afraid I would lose him. But there wasn't much they could do but give me fluids. I rested in bed until I felt better. It did pass, and DH helped out a lot during that time! I hope your DH can help you out a lot more.

How horrible HappyLea. When it rains, it pours hey. I wonder if there is an anti-inflammatory that is safe to take during pregnancy? That would help with the pain, inflammation and spasms. And icing the area would help reduce the inflammation. Valium (diazepam) is also wonderful for back spasms but again you would need to check about the safety and get a script for that. It always seems to be that one small twist and then it is all over. Just so easy to do. My back was crap with DS1 from 20 weeks onwards. I hurt it while lifting a heavy patient at work. I remember lying on my back on the bedroom floor telling DH not to touch me. I had to move in my own time as I knew what hurt. When you are able to do things again, make sure you don't bend forward. Get down on your knees to dress children, make beds, whatever it is. I really hope it settles very soon for you. We know how miserable it is.

Oh it sure is miserable. Unfortunately Dr said no to any imflammatory during pregnancy. So just on pain killer and she said i can use hot water bottle also. She was going to give me a cream to rub in my back but then she said no as it had inflammatory in it.

DH is a police officer so its hard for him to just get time off at short notice, but he is going to have to do something. As i cant walk never mind do school run and run round after the 2 boys not at school tomorrow.

I can't believe just a stupid twist/stretch of my body doing DS seatbelt completely put my back out. The pain killer has taken alittle of the pain away and at least im not crying but it is still hurting bad. Hopefully it will just ease soon and i will be taking it easy as not to put it out again.

Im back ladies and we are having :DS:4 i so wish i hadnt got my hopes up for a :DD: but i did and they have truely been shattered :tissue:

He had his feet under his bottom most of the scan and tech found it difficult to get a shot, then he put his hand in the way also but finally she got the shot. I will post it very soon.

Im in utter disbelief at, 100% girl guesses on skull and my mum and aunt were convinced also from 12 week scan, i had a gut feeling this was my :DD: but its not :(

so sorry to hear you didn't hear girl, I'm so gutted for you, I hope you feel better soon and are ok, I think you have a wonderful gorgeous family and are so lucky to have all boys and I bet each and every one of them loves you to bits!

I've hurt my back too so been taking it easy the past few days, I got sciatica aswell so am pretty miserable especially in the evening, got an appointment coming up to be referred for physiotherapy. It is so hard to look after my kids at the moment, lifting them into the trolley for shopping is the worst.

I just have to put up with it :tissue:

This might hurt a little at first.... Try looking up Yoga for back pain but also Yoga for Pregnant women (some moves you can't do while pregnant). Do as many of them as you can a 2-6 times a day. When the pain starts to go away continue doing them 1-2 times a day until delivery. I had really bad pains with DS1 just from being pregnant and I ended up paying for a prego Yoga class.

Happylea, I am so sorry you hurt your back! Back pain is so awful. Can you get a massage or go to a chiropractor? Those things might help? My DH gets back pain a lot, and he takes muscle relaxers (I would bet you can't take those when pregnant) and he alternates heat and ice. I hope something works for you soon--I know how hard it is looking after 3 kids while pregnant, and being in pain on top of that sounds just miserable! :hugs:

I am doing the alternating hot/cold thing at moment. DH has managed to get tomorrow off work which is fab. If its not eased by tomorrow i will have to go to either A&E or a chiropractor. I would much rather have full blown labour pain than the pain im in now, at least you know you will be rewarded with a sweet baby at the end of it.

If i wasnt pregnant a nice bit of alcohol to take the edge of the pain away would be nice :D

DH just gonna make me something to eat and then im gonna take myself off to bed to see if i can find a comfier position.

BACK PAIN SUCKS!!!!

I feel like such a failure as a mother today. I got stuck at the grocery store (all the debit and credit machines were broken, so the line-ups were crazy), and I ended up being 10 minutes late to pick ds3 up at preschool. I did call to tell them, but not until it was the actual pick-up time, so they didn't get the message until after he'd stood at the door watching for me only to have me not arrive. When I finally did get there, he was at the window watching for me, sobbing so hard he could barely breathe. It truly broke my heart that I hurt him like that! He's not even 3 yet, and I'm always trying to teach him that mommy always come back...and then I didn't come. I know it's only 10 minutes, but I'm sure to him it felt like an eternity. I brought him out for a special lunch and gave him tons of treats, but now that I have him down for his nap, I'M the one crying like a baby!

aww bless thats totally understandable, I felt guilty like that when I first enrolled my daughter to nursery she was 1 and a half and because she was the only child then I thought it would be beneficial for her to spend a few hours a week with other children in a learning environment and the first few weeks were so hard, I felt so guilty leaving her there and she'd cry but now she just loves her nursery and shes learned so much, we all have days when nothing goes right, don't be so hard on yourself and you're not a failure you're great mum

Mochagirl

I don't find it as hard when they're sad when you leave them there, because they know you've promised to come back, and in my experience are usually fine the second you disappear. I just hate that I broke that promise to always come back - I just keep picturing him lined up against the wall where all the kids wait for their Moms and anxiously inspecting every face that came in hoping it was me. Usually he yells out 'Mommy!' and leaps into my arms the second he sees me. By the time all the other kids were gone the teachers realised I must have been delayed, but the damage had already been done and he was inconsolable. Aw, darn...now I'm crying again!

are you sure you haven't got a slipped disc? or it could be sciatica because thats what I have but that's nerve pain, if you got the pain suddenly it could be slipped disc? I'm not sure, but with Sciatica sometimes the pain is so bad for me that I can't walk even a few steps and the pain is in my butt and hip lower back and inside leg. Its a sharp shooting pain.

Oh Mocha, heartbreaking!!! FWIW we MISSED DD2's spring program (singing) at nursery school. I actually PAID to have reserved seats (the preschool "sells" the front row as a fundraiser) so we could be front row for her, but I thought it was at 11 am and it was at 10 am, and we missed the whole thing. I was devastated. We went to her classroom and her teacher saw me and mouthed "she doesn't know" so I just told her she did a great job.

But then we got the DVD of the program and as all the kids are filing in you see them all spotting parents and waving, and I can see my DD2 just craning her neck looking around for us ... it breaks my heart that we weren't there for her, even though she thinks she just missed seeing us

It'll be OK but I understand your heartache... this was 3 weeks ago for me and I could still cry about it.

Oh, begonia - that's so sad too! We're silly, though, aren't we? Our kids have the attention span of a flea and probably forget about this stuff immediately after it happens, and for some reason we keep brooding over these things and drive ourselves crazy. Mommy guilt is the worst!

Mocha... poor little man who knows what he was thinking! DS1 wants to go to school so bad... he is the one who will miss dada and grandma. DS2 is such a mamas boy I know he would never let me go when he realizes I am dropping him off at school. Being late would be the end of the world to him. DS2 currently misses me if I am out of sight for a slit second.

Oh Mocha, I hate stuff like that too. I remember I went to get DS1 at nursery (he is 4, almost 5) and I went out to the buggy to check on DS2 and he must have lost me in the crowd of parents. I panicked when I couldn't see him and ran back but by that time he was crying hysterically and another mum was looking for me. It was only for a minute but he is SUCH a sensitive soul that I felt so awful and he still talks about it now because it gave him such a fright.

Thanks, ladies. My twins were actually much clingier than ds3, who's a very independeng little guy. Maybe that's why this has affected me so much - it takes a lot for him to cry.

You just reminded me, though, of a time one of my older boys got lost at a giant indoor playground. I was sitting in the toddler area with ds3, who was just a baby at the time, and my twins got separated then one got turned around and couldn't figure out how to get back to me. He was 2 floors up screaming out of one of the mesh windows overlooking the lobby screaming for Mommy, but since I was in a different area I couldn't hear him. When I realized I hadn't seen him crawl by in a while I went looking for him and found a crowd gathered in the lobby below him trying to calm him down. I felt terrible, yet I'm sure he doesn't remember it at all now.

I started off really high but he has now dropped so I am now looking more like I did with my girls lol. Although, from the start I have been much bigger and it is confirmed by scan that this baby is measuring a month ahead. We know out dates are spot on from early hcg tests so he is a big bub!

Oh really!!! So will they let you go the extra month?? Were your girls very big?

Well for now they are keeping an eye on the placenta is it is low lying. If by 34 weeks it has not shifted away they may do a csection as early as 35 weeks. Because my history with the girls I have gone in to labour naturally at 36/37 weeks.

If placenta shifts, I have no idea how early he will come lol. My girls were 7pds but that was really good for their gestation! If they made it to 40 weeks prob would have been closer to 8 pounds. The drs used to tell me, because of my tiny frame and after the birth of my first (she was a big baby 9pds) my body learnt not to go to 40 weeks again LOL. But if he is measuring 4 weeks early already does this mean he will come even earlier?

Noone can know for sure though hey! Knowing this pregnancy and how opposite it has been so far to the girls, I will probably go over due and have a 10pd baby HAHAHAHA

I hate sleeping on my side too, Hobber! My hips keep getting sore, and I always end up on my back several times in the night before I wake myself up and turn back over. I find I can get slightly comfortable with the bottom leg straight and the top leg bent out at an angle with a pillow underneath, so it's almost like I'm on my stomach except I'm not. The only problem is this takes tons of space, and dh and I have only a Queen bed that always seems to have at least one of our 3 kids in it for much of the night, so I rarely have enough room to spread out that way.

Hobbers, I stuff a V shaped pillow half under my legs and so it kind of sits under my tummy that was I can lay on my side but tilted a little toward my tummy and the pillow cushions the pressure for me.

I have a wedge shaped pillow I put under my belly, and a pillow I tuck under my legs, but it only feels okay for a while. But by halfway through the night I start getting uncomfortable. :sigh:

I want to get one of those side sleeper pillows.. Has anyone heard of them? I always sleep either on my tummy or side I am still able to sleep on my stomach atm but because I go to the toilet like 50 THOUSAND TIMES A NIGHT I find it better sleeping on my side , Anyway I am finding I am waking up with headaches from my pillow my neck is sore its like my pillow is too high but it used to be fine!

Mocha, I tend to think only really good mums feel bad about something like running late. If that is the worst your son has to cope with then he is a very lucky little boy.

I love my bed. Yet to test it out on a big belly, but it is king size with a tempur (memory foam) mattress and is the most comfortable thing ever. I find it really hard when we go away and I have to sleep on a different bed and pillow.

I am so tired of sleeping on my side!! I hate it and I still have half my pregnancy left! My hips hurt by morning. Anyone else having this problem?

YES. My hips are already screaming at me and I even have one of those pregnancy pillows! I feel like I wake up at least every hour to turn over (and pee, of course). It's insane how uncomfortable I am with this 2nd pregnancy. I think this baby is also sitting way lower than with my first (yet I can tell my uterus is already level with my belly button). Oh, the things we go through for these little babes. ;) One bonus is that my boobs look awesome. LOL

Oh, and since talking about sleeping... I had to laugh when I woke up the other morning and baby was all squished over to one side of my tummy. I just had this big, hard lump on my right side and I could feel it wiggle back into a comfortable position after I rolled to the other side.

TTC5, do yourself a favour and go to 40Winks. Where we bought our tempur mattress they had a display one and they tell you to lie on it for at least 10mins as it works with your body heat. So good. Expensive, but we bargained the price down some. DH and I often say it was the best money we ever spent. We have the pillows too!

Love the boob comment Laughing! My DH mentioned he had better make the most of mine before they disappear again!!

I hear ya! My boobs at big and full without a hint of sagginess right now - I'm loving it, but sad that this is the last time they'll look this way. As I approach 40, with many years of breast feeding behind me, their natural state is a little pathetic. I almost want to take a picture of them for posterity, though that feels a bit creepy - I mean, who but dh could I ever even show the picture to?

I never fully appreciated pregnancy boobs till this time. On the LE diet my boobs shrunk from a C cup to an A and we're basically just empty sacs of saggy skin hanging on my chest. hi ladies,

My back still bad but i made it to my midwife appt today and she is referring me to physio, which cant come quick enough.
Since being told i am having a boy i am trying to make myself believe it but deep down i still feel it is a girl, i have been trauling the internet trying to find a shot like mine and cant find one :(
Family who has seen my potty shot are also not convinced it is a willy but surely what else could it be? Its like a mushroom? Do willies have a nobbly end? My DS3 potty shot didnt. Could clearly see scrotum and little willy on his.

My brother says if that is a willy he is going to be very well hung and it will be disformed? :(

PP, I hope your shy baby finally lets you know who they are!!

Hobbers, that food sounded soooooooooooo good!

Yesterday we had to take my DH to the ER for extreme stomach pains. After many, many hours and way too much testing, he got diagnosed with acute pancreatitis (essentially an inflammed pancreas) so now he have anything but a liquid diet for two+ days and his pain is so strong they put him on oxycotin, so he's been sleeping or at least trying to sleep but doing a lot of groaning.

We had Memorial Day plans but obviously he is too sick to go. I hate to admit this, but he got pancreatitis from his binge drinking behavior. He won't drink beer for 3-4 days in a row then go crazy (and I do mean completely nuts) 1-2 days in a row. He hadn't drank in over a week when on Tues night he went nuts and drank 20 cans of beer. I was asleep and unaware of his party going on, and when I got up in the morning, he had gotten rid of his evidence, except for a few stray cans, so I assumed he had 5-6 beers that night, and wasn't even aware until his pains began and he admitted the number he had.

The doctor told him he has to stop drinking forever now, because once you get pancreatitis, if you keep drinking, you can develop chronic pancreatitis and that can lead to a necrotic pancreas and well, you cannot live without a pancreas.

This is a life changing moment for my DH. I am almost grateful for this because he has been battling alcohol addiction off and on for years, and I think he neeed something serious to happen to his health to give him that wakeup call.

Just ducking in to say to Auroara: My DH battled alcohol addiction as well, from the time he was a kid if you you can believe it. He started attending AA years ago and the support really helped him. He only goes to the meetings every once in awhile now, but he knows they are there if he needs them. He's been sober for a few years now and it's much nicer. Don't feel alone; you'd be shocked at the number of families that have some sort of addiction problem.

auroara78
May 25th, 2012, 10:49 AM
Thank you, Yuzu and Lola....

I really had a hard time posting it because it's something I've tried to cover up for him for years....but the truth is he's an alcholic, has been for years, and now it's time for him to become the man he's wanted to be.

He woke me up last night wanting a hug and sobbed on my shoulder about how much of a bad dad he's been because of his binge drinking behavior. I hugged him back and told him this is his chance to start fresh, and be the man he wants to be. He has this awful self-hate cycle he goes thru when he drinks where while he's drinking, he's happy, jovial, and funny, but afterwards, he gets depressed and hates himself for "giving in" and that negativity in turn makes him want to drink all over again.

I will support him in anyway I possibly can, because I want him to fight back and be strong and conquer his addiction.

I used to feel ashamed and wondered what ppl woudl think if they knew he drank like he did, but now I just feel proud that we can deal with this problem once and for all, and hopefully, move forward....

auroara - my Dad's an alcoholic, and now at 70 instead of enjoying his hard-earned retirement years, he's been bed-ridden in the hospital for the past 6 months and will be moving into a nursing home as soon as a room becomes available. Although his health problems aren't directly related to his alcoholism, the abuse he's put his body through for the past 50 years has led to dementia and neuropathy that have made it pretty much impossible to recover fully from the bowel cancer surgery and heart condition he also has.

My Mom, on the other hand, is 70 as well and in perfect health - both in mind and body. She travels around the world, spends lots of time with all her grandchildren, and volunteers so much she's barely at home. She's never had a drink in her life, and I'm sure that has a lot to do with how healthy she is.

I'm so glad your dh has had this scare because he's young enough that he can start over and avoid the kind of life my dad has now. Better to have this happen now than when he's 60 or even older.

Auroara, my brother had a pancreatitis attack that almost cost him his life! He was in the hospital for weeks. He was also a big drinker, and had to change his ways. It sounds like your DH got off "easy" (being able to go home, etc). He has you for a good support system, and hopefully he understands how serious it is and will change his habits. How scary for all of you! I hope he is feeling better soon.

Aurora, my dad has struggled with alcoholism since before I was born (same with my mom's dad and two of her brothers). I also feel that my husband has an issue at times, but I'm not sure if I'm reading too much into things because I'm so paranoid because of my dad or what. Either way, I totally understand and I hope things will improve for you now!

It is too quiet around here! Is everyone having an exciting holiday weekend? (or maybe Memorial Day is just a US holiday?) We have SNOW here. It snowed all day yesterday and isn't letting up. The kids went out and built snowmen and had fun, but I am disappointed, because all my flowers were getting ready to bloom, and now they will probably die. :( I had poppies and irises all full of buds. So sad!

We are going to test the voltages in the back and see what is going on. :)
But also what is good is... this is one of the best weekends of the year to buy a big ticket item! We don't have the fancy HE ones, I just mean a big ticket item as a washer/dryer, mattress etc!
But we probably would get a used one as long as it works.
BUT...I'm always leery of buying anything used because of the bed bug epidemic here in the states.

Well its been absolutely lovely here for past few days in the uk for a change, we have been enjoying the sun. Lots of bbq and kids playing in the garden in paddling pool

DH is off work from tomorrow for 2 weeks, cant wait to have time with him and the boys. Will prob go away for few days this week and a few days next week also. Try and take the time for it to sink in that this baby is most likely a boy, i know we have a dodgy pic but i have to be realistic and think the tech must have seen something i didnt and trust what she thought was a willy even though looks funny maybe it is :(

Boys love going camping so we will probably go camping for few days with the doggies also, they love it too. Just hope the lovely weather continues x

My Internet is not working on the laptop. Will get it sorted tomorrow I hope.
Very excited for you Purple!!
Auroara, I told my DH about your DHs experience. What an awful thing for you to all go through. Mine was quick to say he doesn't think he has ever had 20 beers. So I reminded him that a couple of months ago he drank enough that he passed out on the lounge and then vomited everywhere a few hours later. He is already on medication that can cause issues with his liver. No need to add more stress to it. I find he doesn't cope well with stress at work. I wish he would go and exercise instead of turning to alcohol. Anyway, your DH is far from alone. Good on you taking such great care of him.

The weather where I live is always hot. We don't even get winter or the normal seasons. We have 2. Wet and dry, and both are hot. This time of year is heavenly but in October I'll be heavily pg and wishing I lived anywhere but the tropics!

Morning Ladies,

Hobber ~ my back is feeling much better, thank goodness. I had MW appt and she said i shouldn't take co-codamol for long as it will build up in babies system and she wasnt happy for me to be on it. She has refered me to physio also but over past couple of days my back seems to have improved. Not totally pain free but i can handle it.

Well weather is still lovely here, so today we are getting all packed up and off camping tomorrow with the boys for a few days, they are so so excited :D
I will have to catch up in a few days.

I think the break will do me good, keep me off the laptop searching for u/s penis pictures trying to find one that looks like mine.

Hope you all have a lovely few days and catch up when im back xxx

Hi Girls just a question, Any of you with 3 or 4 year olds do they still have a sleep in the day and how long do they sleep for at night? Only reason why I am asking is My ds is a very healthy boy But he doesnt have a sleep in the day anymore tho he would if I made him BUT if he does have a sleep in the day then I struggle to get him to go to bed at night.. He goes to bed between 7.30pm and 8pm and wakes between 6.30am and 7.30am Is he getting enough sleep?

If I was to make him sleep in the day he would then be a pain to put to bed at night and prob wouldnt go to sleep until 9.30pm and 10pm so really that sleep he had in the arvo didnt help anyway.

I am just worried that he should be getting more then 10 or 11 hrs of sleep for his age..?? Should I be worried? Not that I can do much about it anyway!!!

Hobbermittens
May 28th, 2012, 06:50 PM
Pinkin, I think that is enough sleep. That's about what my 2 year old gets. She sleeps from about 9pm -7am and also has a nap in the day. I think if you give your DS a nap, but it makes him stay up late, it may not be worth it! My DD still needs her nap, or she gets super crabby and falls asleep on the couch at 5pm. But with the nap, she is up until 9 or sometimes even 10 pm! Too late if you ask me! I wish she could go without the nap, but she isn't ready yet.

pinkin2011
May 28th, 2012, 06:57 PM
Yeah He used to have a nap at 2 aswell But he has been going without one for about a year and Is fine usually I mean sometimes he may get tired but I still keep him up because it upsets night time bed.. I just hear friends say they put their kids to bed at 7pm or 8pm and they sleep until 9am .. He has NEVER done that! And so then makes me think oh no he not getting enough but It does make me think sometimes if they are telling me the truth! Or maybe it happened for them once , you know?

Hobber, with DS1 and DS2 I was super keen very early in the pregnancies and then after that would have quite happily not BD again until after I finished breastfeeding! I didn't feel like initiating anything and when we did BD I wasn't really enjoying it. With this one, I am more interested (usually in the morning when not as tired) but it is always a lot more enjoyable. Maybe you are having a boy after all! Would love to add that maybe mine is a girl, but really don't think that is the case.

PeonyPrincess
May 28th, 2012, 07:51 PM
Pinkin, that sounds fine. I think 11 hours is good for that age, and you could always do the occasional catch up nap on days when he is extra tired. Have you tried putting him down slightly earlier at night when he doesn't have a day nap? If it just means he wakes up earlier the next day then it is not worth it, but I used to get mine to bed at 6.30pm when they were a bit younger and they would have 12 hours sleep. I had to be pretty organised to make it happen, but they were always so tired at the end of the day, it helped avoid them having meltdowns and fighting all the time.

My ds3 is turning 3 in a month, and he's in the middle of dropping his nap right now. He's at that horrible stage where he really still needs his nap, but most days he won't take it - then by late afternoon he keeps falling asleep wherever he's sitting. Anyway, without his nap he goes to bed between 7 and 8 (in an ideal world he'd go to sleep at 7, but since his big brothers are awake and making noise at that time he's usually resistant until things settle down in their room - usually closer to 8), then he sleeps until maybe 7 the next morning. I would say he gets about 11 hours a night - about the same as his 6 year old brothers.

I tried to post some pictures on the u/s thread but it wasn't working at the time. I will try again later.

I am very busy for awhile...
5/29 - 6/4 Pack everything in the house and also donate or sale what we don't want.
6/5 - 6/8 (not sure what day yet) Load truck, drive, and unload.
6/9 - 6/16 Get settled at new place.
After 6/18 Find new Dr, get NV license, get new home loan, find a house, find a school, tickle ds2, and who knows what else.

I may not be online until late June or in August... and maybe just 1 day a week! Well I should get started on the things I am throwing away (while my packrat DH is at work).

hey ladies, how is everyone today?

the long weekend was nice and relaxing but I started getting a bit antsy late last night because we didn't leave the house this weekend except take DS1 to his gym class and get some groceries. Hubby was getting better then last night he did something stupid and ordered hot wings and it tore his sensitive stomach up and made him very ill again.

He understands he can't drink, but doesn't quite get (maybe he'll get it now!) that he's still got to take it easy on food until he's fully healed.

Men!

I know I am only 24 weeks but I am so anxious to go ahead and have the baby now, lol. Well, not right now, but I just wnat to meet and bond with her. I know this summer is going to fly though, because May went by suprisingly quick! But it was soooo hot this weekend where i live with the humidity that I was dying being out and about on Sat. running errands.....the AC in the car wasn't barely cooling me off....

Hobber, I am not even interested in sex right now at all. With my first pregnancy, I was all about it. At this point, it's getting to where I just find it uncomfortable and it takes way too long...and my husband doesn't even TRY to romance me throughout the day at all. So when he randomly tries to grope my giant, sore boobs after kiddo is in bed...I mostly just want to push him away. I think he's getting frustrated with me. I don't normally agree with "adult material"...but at this point I want to tell him he can look at it all he wants, as long as I don't see it. LOL

Same here.... DH has been whining about how he had to beg me to stay away while I was prego with the boys. Lately I go to bed early just to avoid him asking. Maybe I should get him a video and place it in his sock drawer.

LOL I wish I had this problem!!

The first twelve weeks or so I was totally turned off sex and when my DH tried it some, it actually kind of hurt!

After that tho, I had an explosion of wanting some loving and he just ain't doing it. Well now he can't (he's still sick) but even before that, once I get a bump his bump becomes non-existant :(

I am just dying so much for some ya know what and it just ain't going to happen. Good thing I got season 1 of the Tudors on DVD so I can drool and imagine Jonathan Rhys Meyers! Hahha!

It isn't that the idea of sex isn't appealing, because it is, but then I don't actually enjoy it! It is a total rip off. :sigh: Last pregnancy, I just couldn't get enough, but DH was totally unwilling to do it.

PP, you have a crazy busy schedule! Good luck with all that moving stuff.

Auroara, I was wondering about your DH. Sorry for the hot wings set back. What kind of stuff does the Dr. recommend that he eat? Glad he is on the mend.

It was super hot here too for a while, but then we had a snow storm over the long weekend. It has melted off, and by next weekend, the temps will be back up into the 70's. Everyone keeps saying this is supposed to be a record breaking summer as far as heat is concerned. I know it is only because I am pregnant! :sigh: the last few summers have been really mild; the last really hot, horrible one we had was when I was pregnant with my DS. So of course, it figures we would have another horrible one when I am pregnant through the summer again!

auroara78
May 29th, 2012, 03:31 PM
The doctor didnt' say what he could / could not eat. She said no food for 2-3 days...liquid diet only.

I looked up his condition on the web and discovered that eating fatty or heavy foods could compound the problem. He didn't really believe me (it's not like I look on just any website, I am a librarian, so part of my job is finding reliable sources of information) and now he's paying the price for not listening to his DW!

Yeah, usually I prefer to be hot than cold, but man it was so hot this weekend...I was like wow i'm gonna get bigger and more swollen in this dang heat! Virginia is always humid, but it's going to be a sorcher here!

laughinglynxie
May 29th, 2012, 03:47 PM
Totally relate with the weather thing! We had a super mild winter here in Minnesota and we've already had a few days that we hit the 90s (of course, today we are sitting at about 60...). I normally can't stand the cold AT ALL but now that I am preggo again, I feel stifled if it's too humid. Hoping for dry heat, just from that standpoint.

Total bummer, Hobber. :/ It seems the times we have done it, I just cramp up for a really long time afterwards and it bothers me too much. I might be more interested if DH helped a little more with DS1. Hahaha

This baby is giving me motion sickness or something with all of it's gymnastics. Hope it stays sort of still for my ultrasound on the 31st!!!! I still don't know if I should ask for a potty shot (just to save for later/memorabilia sake). I don't want to find out gender, but I do like having something to compare later on.

Hey, I was thinking it would be fun to do a post where we could guess/predict when people's babies would be born. I have always wished I could guess when my kids would be born... DS1 3 days late and 24hrs after induction, we tried all the tricks on the his due date (massage, relations, spicy food, drove 1 1/2hrs to the Grand Canyon and hiked, more spicy food, went from 6,500ft to 10,000 above sea level, more relations, massage, and then sleep.). DS2 4 days late I didn't try anything. #3 will most likely be 2-3 days late.

SO, my ultrasound went awesome and I was able to give a firm "no, I don't want to know sex" when asked during the exam. We saw the little mouth making sucking motions, sooo cute. Also found out (what I suspected) that I have an anterior placenta this time (but so far, baby is in proper positioning) and they are impressed I have been feeling movement so much.

The only bad thing (okay...maybe not quite SO terrible in the grand scheme of things) is that when we saw my nurse midwife afterwards, she spilled the beans on accident. Eeek! I told the nurse before her AND the NMW when she came in that we didn't want to know (and she had even covered that info up on the chart when she was showing me certain details). BUT when she was measuring me and checking positioning, she said, "So far it looks like great positioning, but SHE might still want to move around." Then her eyes bugged out a little and she tried to cover and add "OR he" to the end of the sentence.

LOL...so I'm a little bummed, but also excited. :)

I guess technically I'm in charge only because I'm the one who started this thread. I didn't think of it as anything formal - just a fun, informal thing, so I'm really sorry if someone felt left out! I tried to update whenever someone joined the group and said what their due date was, but sometimes I had incomplete info or just simply missed their post (when the thread moves quickly I miss things sometimes - I'm only human). I'd suggest anyone who wants to be added just pm me with your due date and whether or not you swayed and I'll happily do it! Again - this is just meant to be informal and for fun! If everyone wants something more formal maybe I should hand over updating duties to someone else.

Speaking of which, NBP - would it be possible to have a real, official due date board started? The last official one in the list is June/July/August 2012, and now we have ladies due all the way into 2013, yet last I looked there was still a board for Sept/Oct/Nov 2011. The only reason I started this thread in the first place is there wasn't an official place for us to post.

nuthinbutpink

Thanks, NBP! Maybe once you make the official one you can move this thread over there?

Ladies - once we have a proper due date board, I think it might be nice to have monthly chat threads like the other due date groups have - this one is almost 300 pages long now, so it's getting a little unruly and probably intimidating for new people to catch up on!

Thanks, NBP! Maybe once you make the official one you can move this thread over there?
