Hi, I’m new here and looking for a little help on my attempt coming up. I got AF today and will be starting clomid 50mg cd3-7. Is it ok to do O+12 on clomid? My cycles are irregular and I will be using digital OPKs to confirm O. I really want to conceive this cycle but I also want to get in somewhat of a girl sway as this will probably be our last baby after 5 boys.
I’m not doing much swaying at all really. I’m taking cal/mag. and folic acid 2800mcg. Trying to do the diet as much as possible. We are vegetarians so it’s hard (i'm still addicted to carbs and sugar!), but we absolutely eat no meat. Adding more dairy. Thinking of both DH and I drinking aspartame drinks during the week of O, but not decided for sure on that yet.
As for pH, well dhs is high and mine around 6-7 but goes higher during O. But I’m scared to do too much to lower it.
Back 4 years ago we did some pretty hard swaying and I lost 2 pregnancies after 4 healthy ones so I quit swaying and had to use clomid and progesterone to conceive again as it just wasn‘t happening after my m/cs. I just can’t but help think all the swaying, supps and lowering ph caused my m/cs. I really want a girl but don’t want to risk loosing any more babies. Does what I’m doing sound ok? Any advice or what more to do or something I shouldn’t be doing?
Oh and i'm also thinking of having dh abstain, not sure how long though. And also starting B6 50mg after O(I did this during my last pg to help with morning sickness)...guess I still have alot of researching I should do..this cycle just kinda snuck up on me already!
Thanks ladies!

Hmmm....well...I would say maybe go through the suggestions on this board and take away your similarities with what you've done in the past and tweak them? KWIM? As far as the vegetarian diet....maybe just keep that up, but cut some calories and try to crash lose like 2-3 pounds this month? Chlomid is going to sway anyway....
I say no b6 until AFTER a BFP as I agree w/ Atomic and this board that extra vitamens sway boy :)

I wouldn't do an O+12 on Clomid. Clomid makes it difficult to get pregnant anyway by making your cm hostile and O+12 makes it difficult for even fertile couples in 'usual' circumstances to conceive. The advice Atomic usually gives to those on Clomid is that Clomid is proven to sway pink (unlike some of the other sway tactics) and she suggests dropping a lot of the other things (timing/jellies and douches/anti-histimines) and getting several attempts in around O to increase chances of pregnancy. I wouldn't have DH abstain if he's over 35 either.
Being vegetarian already is great and carbs and sugar are actually good on a girl diet so long as you're not eating them with protein and you're not eating anything again for a few hours afterwards. Are you making sure to keep blood sugar levels low by only eating 2 or 3 meals a day? Are you losing weight? Adding in more dairy isn't necessarily a great idea because it's high in protein, sometimes sodium too.

Hi and welcome!! Glad to "meet" you!
DO NOT do O+12 on Clomid. You have to get pg quick while on Clomid and O+12 is not the way to go for getting pg quickly. More on O+12 here (this is a 3-parter with links to the other two parts at the bottom of this one - also has how to) http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-girl-best-practices/1291-o-12-part-1-history-o-12-a.html
The Clomid WILL sway pink for you without timing. I do not believe timing sways in any way, and it is very important to get pg fast. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-discussion/1191-clomid.html
Abstain is not a good idea with Clomid and it is also not a good idea for a healthy pg. Fresh sperm = healthy baby. Check out this thread for options beyond abstain.frequency of BD for pink and blue (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?5636-frequency-of-BD-for-pink-and-blue)
I am assuming you are doing a FGD or IG diet - some of us do that and some of us do different things. I personally don't believe calcium sways in the ways that some people claim it does http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/610-calcium-conundrum-controversial.html (another 3 parter, links at bottom) and I do not think the diet and supps that they have on the other site are safe The MOST dangerous things for swaying (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?2572-The-MOST-dangerous-things-for-swaying). I am all about safe and healthy pg first and foremost and swaying has to be secondary to that.
I made a diet called the Low-Everything diet that is healthy and less restrictive than FGD and IGD are and we have that in the Dream Members section.
Statistically speaking, as vegetarians you have a better shot at a girl than meat eaters (I know that's hard to believe after 5 boys) and I just want to reassure you, you can get pg with a baby girl doing nothing any different than you ahve every other day of your life. We ALL are capable of having both boys and girls, it's just that our lifestyles may be a little more friendly towards one than the other. Good luck!!

Thanks so much for the advice ladies! I tried to find a forum with diet info on here but can’t. Am I missing something?
I’ve been over at IG for several years and trying to follow that diet some, but find it really hard with out starving. And also the first time we swayed we were doing most all the supps recommended there and I lost both pregnancies so it’s just made me very leery of doing anything to sway, especially all those vitamins. DH is 38 so should he frequent release? Or just go about our normal bding?
Thanks for the links, I’m going to go read them now!

Also, what are you ladies thoughts on pH? Does it really play a part in swaying? Dhs is veryyy stubborn and mine is during o. Do yall recommend aspartame drinks to lower ph during o?
Thanks Janna

I don't test my ph, but I do use aspartame to lower it if it needs to be. However, you can;t have too much once you start the clomid, I think AS said 1-3 servings worth a day if that because it is too hostile to the cm.

It's for Dream Members only - the cost is $12 a year and there is a lot of good info in there.
I would def. do frequent or compressed frequent if my husband was 38.

I do think pH sways, but I don't think it's make or break. Here's a good essay that goes over the diff. ways you can lower pH. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/7086-how-lower-ph-via-supps-cran-baby-aspirin-aspartame-other-techniques.html
