I’ve been trying to convince for the past 3 months without success. For the past two months, I’ve started spotting before my period (last month 2-3 days before and this month 4-5 days before). Everything I’ve read says spotting can be normal and just part of a healthy cycle, but does it mean anything significant since it has only started happening since trying to conceive? (Note: we always used protectionprior to TTC). Of course I’m feeling frustrated and most definitely disappointed that I’m not pregnant, but now I’m starting to worry if something is wrong with my fertility. I have an appointment with my OBGYN in April for my yearly exam, but two more cycles will happen between now and then and I’d love to hear others’ perspectives.

No, it doesn't mean anything significant due to trying to conceive - but have you recently started or stopped any supplements? Changed your diet drastically or gained weight?? If so can you give me a brief description of the changes you've made and this is usually a very easy fix if it's caused by sudden diet change or supplements.
It's very common and is not a big deal but we should def. get rid of anything that's mucking things up for us.

Thanks for your prompt response! No, that’s the thing. I have not changed a thing! I take prenatals and a vitamin C daily. No other supplements. No changes to my daily activities. No new exercise routine. I haven’t been eating breakfast as much, but that’s about it. Postponing breakfast is the biggest change I’ve made in the past two months.
I was prescribed an antibiotic early December for a sinus infection...and I took that month off from TTC. I got my period two days early, but no spotting.

Antibiotics can mess up your cycle for a few months after taking them for the same reasons they make birth control ineffective. It should work itself out over time.

Thank you! I didn’t even make the connection until I started writing out everything.
Do you think it will lower my chances of getting pregnant the next few months?

No not unless it gets shorter than 4-5 days (nd the spotting is pretty heavy)
