Hi everyone *♀️!

I haven’t been on here for AGES but now I could need some help. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with a surprise baby. Wasn’t planned at all and I have no Idea when it was conceived. Anyways, i had my last scan when baby was measuring 15w2d and I did film it. We obviously did see something between the legs and the Gynocologist said it’s a boy so I went shopping as soon as I walked out of her office.

Well, a few days ago I talked to a mom I know from kindergarten who is pregnant and is due in April. Up until now she has been told at every appointment that she is expecting a boy and just a few days ago she’s been told she is actually having a girl. I went home watching the video of my last scan over and over again and I noticed my gynocologist saying at the end “well, for now it looks like a boy!”. What is that supposed to mean?! I took a few (hundred) screenshots from every possible angle and would love to hear what you ladies think. There definitely was something between the legs but it was only visible when the legs were spread really wide and never when both legs were visible. If you zoom in in some of them it looks weird, to me like swollen labia but look for yourself.

Is there still a nub at that gestation? This one looks flat and long so does this look boyish?

The upper picture is from my baby. You see baby from behind I think and you can see something between the legs. I have searched YouTube for days until I found a video of a baby at the same gestation were I found something similar looking between the legs. This baby was confirmed girl later on.

This one looks like swollen labia to me?

What about this? First impression is all boy but if you look closer it looks like labia? No idea what the tip could be? Does scrotum look “separated” like that?

Here we don’t see anything between the legs?

This one looks very boyish but don’t the boy parts look like they are too far away??

I don’t mind either way I have two sons and a daughter but I would just love to know for sure already. I want to shop for the baby and start preparing the nursery. Also, I don’t know how reliable guesses at that gestation can be since I am not even sure how far along I really was. Gynocologist says 15w4d but a specialist said a baby is measuring two days behind meaning I would have been 15w2d but it very well could have been even less.

Any opinion appreciated! My next appointment is in Monday but I can’t wait until then

Next ultrasound will be on Monday. I hope I will find out then but I was curious what you ladies think.

I think these pictures aren't clear enough to determine gender. Boys can look like girls if the potty shot is taken at the right angle or zoomed out enough. Girls can also look like boys if their parts are swollen, which would be normal at 15 weeks. Update us when you find out!

Can you post one that is just of your baby's potty shot?

All the different pictures are confusing me.

It's very rare to be told boy that turns out to really be girl. Much more likely to go the other way (girl to boy). But that having been said gynecologists are awful at guessing gender so unless a tech told you boy, I'd remain skeptical.

What can happen is that the ultrasound can get zoomed in on some parts and not others. This is why you can sometimes get photos of a baby that appears to have no arms or legs. So sometimes they can zoom in on the potty and not capture a penis. It doesn't happen much, but sometimes.

I don‘t have a simple potty shot. Did have another scan yesterday but we didn‘t get a look between the legs . Next scan will be next Thursday.

Can you please post a picture that is just your baby without all the other people's pictures in it?

Atomic the pictures are all from my baby. Only the third one is someone else’s but the others are all screenshots from the ultrasound I had with my baby at 15 weeks.

Ok. The nub shot is no good because it's been taken upside down and that can make a flat nub look raised.

I agree I'd not hang my hat on these. The trouble is, though, that just because you can't see something in an ultrasound it doesn't mean it's not there. The techs have the ability to zoom in on some things and not others, so it's possible to have them be zoomed in on the pelvis and not capture the penis.

50-50 from me now, sorry, I wish I could be more help!
