Hi there,
I'm new here and only found this forum a few days ago as IG is down. As so much good info here, I decided to stay here.
Now, we have two boys and are desperate for a girl. We wanted a girl from the start. This will also be our last baby.
I have been reading and trying to figure out our sway. I was very keen on O+12 but after reading here, I decided to go with cut-off, as trying to pinpoint O will stress me out. I already get worked up about this, which is not good, so trying to make it as simple as possible.

My first son was conceived with frequent bd (every day) and second son with less frequent bd (every 3-4 days) but bd on O. Now I would prefer my dh to abstain from the start of cycle. He said he could manage 7 days, max. 8. I'm hoping this will work out somehow.

Also, how long to you have to do the diet before you can make the attempt. Sticking to a diet will be very hard for me and I do get low blood sugar if I don't snack which makes me dizzy and this will make it hard for me to work.
Ideally, I would come off birth control, do the diet from start of cycle and make the first attempt in that cycle. Both boys were conceived in the cycle after coming of birth control.
But would that have a chance to work? But, not making an attempt straight away would stress me out and my dh. We always have spontaneous relations every day, and not having that for longer than a few weeks would be very stressful for my dh. And I'm already stressing about it.

If the diet won't have a chance to work if only doing for two weeks, can I start the diet the cycle before while still on the pill?

I wanna make a plan within the next weeks so I can sit back and relax and then just follow the steps.

Thanks heaps Ladies

Hi vada79

:welcome: this is a great forum with lots of lovely ladies and lots of fantastic infomation! I would be so confused and lost without it.

Please do not worry about timing as i found out on here that timing is one of the least important factors of swaying. If you have all the other factors right then timing will not be an issue.

As for the diet they say to be on diet for around 6 weeks before your attempt, i dont see why you cant do diet while still on the pill, someone correct me if im wrong.Alot of people do the LE diet which you can find on this forum. I know that i would stress out on being on too much of a strict diet so i am not sticking to a specific diet, myself as i dont want to raise my testosterone levels by stressing which sways blue. I am cutting out all rubbish and eating much much healthier than usual.

Would like to wish you heaps of luck.

Leanne x

Hi,
thanks so much for this.
Yes, I feel I will get stressed out too. Atm, I eat what I want and when I want, which is naughty and I gained a few pounds and actually like to eat more healthy and drop the pounds again, but I'm worried that it will be hard and I will slip esp. at work. But 6 weeks should be doable with cutting out all the unhealthy stuff in the first week and then more and more.

I would like to stay on the pill until the attempt as otherwise I might get pregnant earlier without having been long enough on the diet etc. My husband is happy to go along with everything but just for one time, not months and months.

Thanks again and wishing you all the luck too :highfive:

Hi,

I'm new to the forum (but I've been lurking for a few days pretty much nonstop - totally the obsessive type so I am keeping that in mind!)

Still trying to work out my sway. Pretty sure I'm going with FGD as I am a dairy and meat addict and there is no way I would ever be able to work that out. I also don't eat grains which will be next to impossible... I might have to budge on that and eat some bread or rice I think, otherwise I won't be able to keep my meat and veggies in check. I refuse to give up cheese so I'm looking into low-sodium types (ciligene, mascarpone, low-sodium goat cheese - yummy!) I am very obsessive so once I figure out what will work, I won't cheat, so that won't be a problem. I plan to supp. with cal/mag, folic acid, cranberry juice (not extract, still BFing) and nothing else. No aspartame for me. Also, I will continue to take cod liver oil every day and fish eggs (salmon roe) twice a week as I totally believe that healthy fats = healthy brains (my oldest son has autism so that is a concern)

I have two boys, one 15 and another 2 years. I'll be 35 in April so timing is important to me... we want this to happen sooner rather than later, so I'm hoping that giving myself two months on the diet and not worrying about BD/O timing will be enough to influence a good sway!

Hmmm cheese, I love cheese, so I might do the same and look for a low sodium one. I will do the LE diet as being to strict will stress me out and I might cheat. I've never been good with sticking to a diet and I eat lots of sweets so it will be hard enough to cut those out. I don't eat meat anyway, so that won't be a problem, but cheese and sweets. I think I will have most success with the LE diet, but your plan sounds great.
The fish eggs are a good idea, cause I don't eat fish at all. Will look into that.
Yes, once I'm on the diet I also would want to conceive rather quick, but since we conceived our sons with frequent BD, I wanna try abstaining but I think even though DH agreed it will be very hard on him. But I just wanted more than just the diet. Lucky, still have some time to decide, but I'm leaning more and more now not to worry about the abstaining/timing just to not stress us out.

Fingers crossed for your sway :fx:

Thx vada! I do salmon roe - it's pretty high in salt so I just stick to about 1 tbsp on top of a flatbread cracker spread with mascarpone cheese. It's totally yummy but of course I have to watch the rest of the day's salt a little more to keep it in check. I do it about once or twice a week - any more than that I am afraid would sway too blue, since they are really nutritious.

There are quite a few low-sodium cheeses here in California - fresh water-packed mozzarella is always a good one! mascarpone (a sweet italian cheese) and ricotta are also generally really low in sodium. Ricotta makes a really good base for sauces!
