So, I FINALLY got AF back after 3 years this month of not having her visit! (I got pregnant with our first in Feb '09, and then pg with the second June '10 before my period returned). Anyways, now that I'm back in business, so to speak ;) reality is hitting, and I'm trying to decide what to do! I've been doing pretty well with the LE diet and have lost a few pounds already. I am going to get DH to start taknig licorice root today until O, and I am going to keep my blood sugar nice and low. I might add in baby aspiring too. I don't really believe in timing, and I think we are going to do abstain 7 days, then FR for a few days til I O to give maximum chance of getting pg. What do you think? Anything else I should add?? Oh, and we're using Sylk.
One random question, I have a friend who I run with who is going to start TTC a girl in May. She was asknig me yesterday about what I am doing, and wanted to know more. However, she is going to be on Clomid....so I'm not sure how that changes things? Should I still recommend Sylk to her? She used preseed with her last baby boy. I sent her to this website anyways :)

Everything else looks brilliant, but I am concerned with the way you're mixing and matching the abstain with the FR. Just to makesure I have this righ, you are going to abstain until your first attempt, then do FR? I'm not sure it gains you anything and I worry that his sperm might have a chance to recover for at least the first day or two after the FR begins - for FR to be effective, it has to go on for 7-10 days to be truly effective. It may be that the abstain + FR works great but it hasn't been studied and we really don't know.
The only possibility is if you are going to start with the compressed FR after the abstain (meaning having DH release 2-3 times per day and using only the last batch of the day.) This may be the best of all worlds.
Re your friend - how many Clomid cycles has she already done (with her son?) When on Clomid, it's important to get pg as quick as you can and that generally means no Sylk, just relying on the body's own CM (which Clomid makes hostile in 30-50% of people). That having been said, for someone who has only ever done like 1-2 cycles previously in their lives might be able to get away with JUST Sylk for the first Clomid cycle as long as they dropped it if they didnt' get pg the first month.

That's precisely what I was thinking - abstain, then FR (ie 2-3x/day) to give us maximum chances of catching that egg. I just know he wouldn't be able to keep that up for more than a couple days! And I would really like to get pg right away, not only to just get off te diet ;) but because we're moving at the end of the year.

Hahaha, yes! Yay for AF! I think that will be the last time I say that ;) I was so excited to see her arrive (albeit a few days earlier than expected!). Yep, definitely over it now though ;) Hahaha! Time to get onto the fun part! And I keep telling my husband we need to try hard to get pg this month - and the second I get that BFP, I swear we are going to an all you can eat buffet, topped off with some dairy queen and a bag of chips for dessert. LOL!! I have never been great at dieting :)
I do plan on using OPK's for ovulation. I think I might temp too, but it depends how my youngest is sleeping (and if I can remember! I found it WAY easier to remember to do these things before we had kids...).
How about you? Where are you at in your cycle now? I feel like no matter where in the cycle I am, I'm just constantly waiting waiting waiting.....!

lol yes it is unusual to celebrate AF isn't it? ;)
I still temp - just adjust my temps if I wake up at a different time to normal
just CD13 and waiting for OV at the moment... it could be any time within the next week!
hope you catch that egg this cycle! We will definitely be celebrating with lots of food if we get a BFP too ;) :D
