my 1st sway worked, my 2nd sway didnt and they were virtually identical, this time i switched to the PCOS diet due to having an opposite on the standard LE and i'll know if it worked when baby arrives :)

not really, i always feel better doing intermittent fasting style eating, the big gaps between meals and no snacks leave me with more energy and feeling good so it makes me want to do it :) the PCOS diet this time really agree'd with me (sugar gives me a bad stomach but i stupidly ate it anyway!!) cutting sugar out alone left me feeling so much better!! so im happy to stick to an eating plan that i feel good on, i will look to vary my meals a bit more next time though, by the end i was getting bored of the same few choices!!

Pregnant with girl sway number two :)
I’m a bit worried this time as I wasn’t super strict with diet like last time, only drank alcohol for about a month beforehand, but still stayed way more more girl friendly than I was with the boys, and remained a coffee drinker. We ended up having an accidental 4 day cut off, confirmed with opk and temp. Fingers crossed I get lucky again!!

I think it’s pretty rare to get it wrong. It’s actually looking at your blood and searches for the boy gene or whatever, if it is missing, it’s a girl, if it’s present, it’s a boy. Pretty hard to get wrong. If taken too early it can not have enough to show a result though apparently

hi foursquare,
my sway this time was LE PCOS diet, coffee, walking 60mins 5-7days a week and 1 attempt. I was on pcos diet due to having an opposite on standard LE, as far as im aware i dont have pcos.
the biggest changes for me from LE to PCOS LE was cutting out sugar, and switching bread and pasta over to wholegrain/wholewheat. weight comes off much faster with this diet so overall i felt i ate more at each meal just to get enough cals etc and the cost.. pcos diet is more expensive.
foods wise for dinner id have a veg or lentil soup with wholewheat pitta and hummus or egg whites or some avocado if i needed the fat and a cup of almond milk.
for tea id have a jacket potato with lots of salad and some cheese and salad cream or whole wheat pasta with broccoli/veg and pesto or some other sauce.
i didnt have a huge variety in my meals, i had a small amount of chicken once a week when i'd cook a roast and have it with the roast veg and gravy.
sweet food wise i had fruit, it was funny after giving up sugar i found i started craving fruit for something sweet and wasnt bothered by sugary stuff any more.

No, I haven’t posted my second sway yet.
My diet stayed much the same as my first sway in 2016. I never went back to my old eating habits when I conceived my boys. I skipped breakfast, rarely snacked, and avoided cereal and fortified juices, stayed a daily coffee drinker and alcohol occasionally. I was much more relaxed with diet this time because we were planning on TTC 9-12 months down the track, so I was planning on being more strict like the last sway for the 3 months before our attempt, but ended up deciding it was better to get pregnant sooner rather than later due to our ages (me 38, hubby 49). We had one attempt with a 4 day cut off as I ovulated later than expected. I made hubby release on his own several times in the lead up to our one attempt as I wanted fresh, healthy sperm considering his age.
I think the big change in eating habits and having only one attempt was the main factor in getting girls. 3/4 of my boys were from multiple attempts. My first boy I can’t remember if it was more than one attempt, but it was on ovulation day with a lot of EWCM.

That’s great! What do you mean by 4 day cutoff? Is it first day of positive OPK? Which ovulation test did you use? Both my boys were conceived on one attempt at a positive solid smiley (ovulation sticks that show 2 more fertile days) but I never did the diet with them.

Please do not aim at a 4 day cutoff. While occasionally people do manage to conceive with that timing, it's very difficult and many people have gone years not getting pregnant trying 4+ day cutoffs.

Ok sure, what should I aim at then? First smiley face (ovulation kit that shows 4 fertile days)? Or first smiley face on the kit that shows 2 fertile days? I’m a bit confused.

I conceived both my boys with one attempt at positive OPK, one on high fertility day (OPK that shows 4 days) and one on peak fertility day (OPK that shows 2 best days to conceive) with no diet though. So I’d prefer to try and incorporate timing this time around as well as diet and exercise. If I use OPK that shows two most fertile days and I have a smiley face, would that be O-1 or O-2?

Well, BD on high fertility day IS a cutoff. That is a Shettles cutoff. So you did already get a boy with timing. It is fine for you to try timing again, but I just wand you to understand that having an attempt on any high fertility day is NOT one attempt at positive OPK and in fact is a Shettles cutoff.
Your first positive OPK (that is with a SOLID smiley, not flashy) is either 1-2 days before O. There's a range and I cannot pin it down for you any more than that. You will ovulate somewhere between 8-72 hours after that first solid smiley and the average is 24-36 hours, but 36-48 is quite common too.
So to go back to your question, my recommendation to those who want timing is to get the OPK with 4 fertile days, and BD the day of the SECOND flashy smiley. This will be a 2-3 day cutoff for most people. But, this is the timing you got your other boy with!! If you absolutely must, you can try at the first flashy smiley, but your odds of conception will be somewhere around 1 in 1000 chance of conception and if you do conceive from it, the chances are you actually ovulated sooner and didn't have that timing anyway! The OPK are quite misleading so you can't always depend on them telling you when you really ovulated.

Thank you Atomic, just one more question about your first paragraph- if Having an attempt on any high fertility day is NOT one attempt at positive OPK then what do you mean by “having one attempt at positive OPK” when you say it’s one of the things that work for pink swayers (in addition to diet, exercise, fiber, alcohol and coffee)? Do you actually mean a first day you get a smiley in the OPK that only shows 2 fertile days, is that right? Sorry I’m a bit confused.

One attempt at positive OPK is on the peak fertility reading - the first SOLID smiley. Only that day.
If the OPK is flashy, it's not positive yet. Only solid reading is positive. And with digi OPK, the first solid smiley is the first positive OPK.
most people get 2 days of flashy (not positive yet!) and then 2 days of solid (positive/peak fertility) on digi tests. Only the first solid is what equates to the first positive of a standard OPK test.

Question about food - am I allowed any meat at all or ideally nothing? I’m a huge meat eater, normally it’s probably 40% of my daily food intake and I really struggle to cut it out completely. I did cut out cereal and juices but meat is my issue. My BMI is 19.5. Than you!

You don't need to cut out meat. The limits are what matters. But that having been said, it's best to not be overly focused on meat. This is because meat his high protein and lowish in cals, so you will very quickly go over on protein limits and only have eaten a few hundred calories. So when people continue eating large amounts of meat, what happens is that their diet often devolves to a borderline starvation diet where people are eating chicken, cucumbers, and then gummy worms trying to get enough calories without getting more protein. It just isn't good. So focusing more on dairy, grains, legumes, nuts for protein allows you to get calories and fat along with the protein.

I’m swaying for the second time. The first sway which was succesful, was hard. I felt hungry, was exhausted and felt ready to try to get pregnant. I was not complaining about the diet and exercise.
Right now I’m on the diet again for 11 weeks. A very strict diet with coffee, wine and exercise. Exactly the same as I did with my girl. But, here is the point, I never feel hungry, I’m not exhausted and I am complaining about the diet and all the crap I’m eating.
I doubt if my body is ready for the attempt within 3 weeks because I don’t feel like the first time (maybe to ‘good/healthy to get a girl). Maybe I should diet for a longer time (22 weeks with my girl) to feel as bad as first time?
Who swayed twice and what’s your experience...? Why does it feel so different this time? I have a strong motivation to get a girl again so it’s not the motivation. I was uncertain last time. I feel more confident this time and don’t have questions about what to eat etc.
I created a own topic but maybe this thread is a better place.

That’s the same for me! I kept a lot of swaying habitus like three/four meals a day, no snacking, very little meat. So the step to swaying girl is a small one this time (3 meals with 16h fast instead of 14h and no meat/fish for swaying purpose. And i added exercise. That’s the only thing that is very hard for me.

Hi Atomic, I wanted to TTC this month with a O-3 or O-2 cutoff (our first month of TTC) but had a flashy OPK at 7am yesterday followed by a solid OPK at 12pm! I assume I will ovulate in the next 24-36 hours so I’m out this month. How do I try a cut off in this case? Or my best guess is just to try one attempt at O-1?

AGain, guys, it's best if you start a new thread rather than ask me questions in these support threads - I just can't always keep up with them and it gets really confusing when several people are asking me questions in the same thread.
Why are you out this month??? Just have an attempt!
If you want to be SURE of a cutoff, then yes, you'd be out, but you may not ovulate for 2 or 3 days after getting a solid. So having an attempt very well may still be a cutoff. WE just can't know (and all this is the exact reason why you can't rely on people telling you what the timing was when they got their B/G...this kind of thing happens all. the. time. with OPK and trying, and we really can't know what the timing of anyone's attempts truly were unless they had ultrasounds or blood test to confirm.)

How is everyone!? I posted on another thread I’ll probably be pushing back my attempt to next year as I still haven’t gotten my period and my diet has been terrible but I’m honestly considering calling it off... I go back and forth between “I did it once I can do it again” and “how could I possibly hit the lottery twice”. I desperately wanted a daughter to fulfill my life long desire of wanting a girl, and I want another for sure but even more I want a sister for my daughter and that’s tough (I explained it to my husband using the analogy of when we bought a puppy for our puppy lol). I always wanted that built in best friend growing up and I do want that for my dd. If I wait I could probably do IVF in a year or two but I want them to be close in age.... sigh... sorry for the venting session

Dear atomic,
I´m back again after 2 succesfull genderdreaming girl sways...... We will try to conceive in may this year again, swaying girl again. I did a very strict LE diet two times before with succes (one in 2015 and the other one in 2017). At that time I didn´t know excersize is that important, so I was a couch patato .
This third sway i don´t know what to do? Don't mess with succes and be a couch patato again, or go walking every day because of the good results? What would you advice atomic?
Thanks!

I will be trying in May most likely to have a full 12 weeks of the diet. My second DD is a successful sway. Doing mostly the same and cutting out sugar not completely, I did have two girls when not eating junk food etc. I’m the type of a girl that can have a donuts for dinner instead of a meal and eat chocolate and cookies all day lol. I would eat sweets all day, so for past three weeks I haven’t. I was on le diet from July-December on and off but honestly wasn’t strict and had many cheats. I plan to start jogging/walking this week. I’m in Illinois and the weather is awful! Best of luck everyone

Hey Pretty,
Did you end up swaying again?
My second daughter was born end of December. Still seems quite surreal lol. I also vacillated between being super confident I’d get another girl and then thinking how could I possibly be so lucky to have another successful sway. Even after I saw the girly nub at the Nuchal scan then confirmation at the morphology scan she was indeed a girl, I didn’t 100% believe it LOL. I had a few issues with the pregnancy along the way, so at every USS I’d ask for gender and they’d always say girl. It wasn’t until I saw for myself at birth that I truly believed it haha.
