View Full Version : Should I sway again to get DD (pink sway 2016) a sister?

Dear ladies,
I don't even know where to start, but I'll try
This site helped me a lot in 2015 when I conceived our little girl after two boys. That is even an understatement... I'm totally convinced we have the LE diet and Atomic to thank for her :HH: She is now 2y9m old and she's such a cutie and her brothers love her to bits. I thought our family would be complete but that thought has changed since a couple of months. I would love to have another baby to love and cuddle, but my DH isn't on board yet.
At first, I thought I would just convince hubby to have another one and then start TTC, without any sway whatsoever. But then I started reading on this website again and all the memories of 2015/2016 came back, the joy I felt when I found out my sway worked, the tears of happiness.
I would LOVE to give my daughter a sister, but another sway... Will I be able to cope? I don't know. I am totally lost at this point. It would be yes or no... But no half sway. I am a perfectionist and if I give it a try, I'd go all in.
Are there any ladies who swayed again and want to talk about their decisions/feelings? Or ladies who didn't sway after a successfull sway? Or anyone who's in doubt, just like me? I would love to hear from you all.

Hi Fiya -
I have two boys and a successful sway girl whos 5 months old
I am hoping to do another sway for another girl but feel more nervous this time round.
How would u feel if the sway didnt work?
My hubby is saying this will be thr last so maybe thats added pressure.

Hi Parying4agirl,
Congrats with your pink bundle
I actually think that if I decide to sway and it is a boy, I would be fine but how I'll actually feel after my BFP is difficult to predict. I found it so difficult last time, because wanting to find out the gender really turned into an obsession.
I am afraid that swaying again would complicate things but still, I am longing for another girl. It's complicated :sigh:

Thanks Fiya
I agree the whole thing can become very obsessive and sometime make it harder in all aspects.
Everyone has their own circumstances so real hard to advise but in my situation i would deffo try again and feele each child brings their own individual piece to make the family and most worries all go out once u have bubba in your arms.
My friends think i should be happy with my 3, which i am but i adore girls; have sisters and would love for my lil girl to have at least a sister. If it ended up a boy then at least i tried but it wasnt meant to be and i wouldnt feel any ‘what ifs’ yrs down the line.
Do u go team green or find out ?

You're right. If I sway, at least I have tried and if it's a blue bundle, he'll be so loved.
But the first obstacle is to convince my hubby to have a fourth child, so we'll need to talk more about that. Reading on here doesn't help because now I would love to have my Mirena taken out straight away and start on the LE diet :running:
If I have a chance to be pregnant once again, we'll definitely find out! I have a friend who's a midwive so I would ask her for a gender scan at 15 weeks.
When will you be trying for baby number 4?

Haha this site makes me extra broody
How anti is ur hubby at the moment, my hubby mentions our 3 are enough at every opportunity in the hope i may agree one day but doubt i will haha
Id have 6,7 if he would agree lol
I joke i hope i have twins girls as he wont go for any more after this, althoughhh something in my heart says if i was to have a boy, maybe just maybeee he would agree for a 5th if i did hos head in.
Is it clomid or something that helps as well?
Im in two minds of when i will start trying, i would love two girls with a close age gap, but then if it is my final and i have one now will i get really broody after a few yrs. other hand thinking to try in about 4/5 months.
I always go team green so its a long 9 mnth wait but the surprise is amazing.
I didnt believe about 5 different nurses that my child was a girl lol, i didnt get to see her properly as ended up in theatre for stitches

What is the age gap between your children?
Here, there's 15 months between my sons (it's like doing cardio the whole day during the first year lol)... And then there's 4 years between my DS2 and my DD.
Hubby is pretty anti, just because he feels so complete and he's starting to feel old (35!), plus we are missing a room in the house, plus the kids sports are expensive. I am 33, so we still have some time to consider our options, but I soooo hope he says 'yes' very soon :crawl:

Boys are 19 mnths apart ( currently 4 and 3) girl is 5 months.
I too am 33 and hubby is 37, ideally i want my fam completed by 35 so i can focus on them as a whole family, rather than starting fresh the newborn stage once all the kids are in school. Sorry i chop and change what i want all the time! You do have time on ur side so are lucky if u need more time to convince hubby.
Maybe convince him one final one now whilst hes still young 🙂
My hubby also says that he doesnt want too many as wants to be able to provide for them and give luxuries, rather than struggle as everything is so expensive.
All this is so stressful!

Oh, your children are so close in age, that's amazing.
My big boy is turning 8 next month and he's getting so big already. He has a girlfriend and he's becoming independent. I'am lucky if I still get a kiss when I drop him off at school.
Did you document the sway you did for your little lady?

Oh wow - bless him.
Girlfriend so cute
I have to ask for kisses from my 4 yr old.
No i didnt document it , just briefly on a post what i did but so wish i had written everything down in much detail - did u?
I did it very basic though, dont have much weight to lose so didnt exercise, skipped brekkie and no snacks. Only did it for 6 weeks and started coffee a week before ovulation and one attempt.
My period is still not back to 30 days so i need to get that sorted before i even tryy diet i think

hi Fiya :) i've had a successful girl sway followed by an opposite and im currently pregnant with our 3rd pink sway baby but wont know if the sway worked till baby arrives in august :)
i completely understand wanting to give your daughter a sister, i swayed for the first time for exactly that reason!! and we happened to be very lucky and have that sway work.
I hope your dh comes round to one final baby to let you complete your family and move on without any "what-ifs"

It's so nice to hear I am not alone with my doubts and with longing for a second girl.
@parying4agirl: yes, the body needs some time to recover after giving birth. I hope your period gets back to normal really quick. I did a pretty strict LE diet (completely vegetarian also) during 20 weeks and I lost a lot of weight on it but I had some weight to loose  No exercise and one attempt at positive OPK.
@4blue2pink: so if I count right, you're pregnant with your ninth? What a blessing! I hope your sway worked this time. I think I read somewhere about two identical sways but one of them giving an opposite? Was that you?
@Pretty: Good luck with the diet and starting to TTC in August. It's strange, isn't it, having both genders and still wanting some more pink? Sometimes I wonder if I'm normal, but at least here I am
@laurelw: how old are the other three? I am sure I would be able to cope and reactions of family and friends don't bother me anymore at 33. I just never thought I would be wanting 4 kids, since I just wanted 2 when I met hubby.

yes that was me!! 2 sways practically identical 1 worked and 1 didnt, this time i switched to the PCOS diet due to having an opposite and did exercise so it was a completely different sway, yes baby number 9  but (all being well) this baby will be living child number 8 as DD1 was lost mid pregnancy.
Thankyou im excited to see if this sway has worked too :)

Hi Fiya, I remember you from the due date group I was in when I had my 3rd son (sway opposite) in Aug 2016. I came back the following year and swayed but had an early mc. It took me another year to get up the nerve to try again but we conceived boy/girl twins who are now two months old!! I am obviously very glad I swayed again. I think had I not swayed even a little bit when I know what I know and know it does work then I'd regret it.
My sway in 2015/2016 was very very strict. My sway on the twins was super laid back. I am definitely 150% finished now, as much as I'd love to give DD a sister I just can't juggle any more pregnancies and babies!! Best of luck with everything x

Id love another girl, but cos i want more and hubby doesnt i was hoping maybe i could up chances of twins [emoji39]Not at all. I conceived the 1st month I took 50mg Clomid. I had no side effects, not even ovulation pain which for me is usually worse than period pain!!
Now my OB has said I'd be more likely to have multiples as there's a family history. My maternal aunt has fraternal twins, my maternal grandmother had fraternal twins and her mother had two sets of twins. One fraternal and one identical. Also my second pregnancy was a twin pregnancy but I lost one twin between week 6 and 7.
Best of luck with everything. A twin pregnancy is a LOT harder than a singleton pregnancy. I would have more kids in a heartbeat but would have to be guaranteed never to have multiples again.

@Hopper: I remember you too  Great news to hear you now have the daughter you wanted so badly. How are the twins doing? It must be a LOT of work with two little ones. Are the brothers happy? Maybe a little picture to share? :HH:
I talked with hubby again the other night and it ended in tears from my end. He now knows how important it is for me and he said he'd think about it. In July, I have an appointment with my gynaecologist and I would love to have my mirena removed then, even if we don't start TTC straight away. It would just be nice to know baby will come one day...

Here they are when they were a few days old! Life is definitely busy and very hard going most days but I'm sure it will get easier and I can enjoy them more as they get bigger. Their brothers are completely in love with them both, as are we. Both of them are such good babies in all fairness, it's just harder cause there's two. If any of my older three were as easy as babies I would have been delighted lol.
I hope you can get everything sorted and get on the right page with your DH. When that longing for another baby comes it can be hard to even think of anything else I find!! Xhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190516/1ec1fde3d16d8cac27105c23b1399856.jpg

One option is to take the middle ground and just go vegetarian, do some exercise, and have one attempt. You don't need to go all in on another sway if you think it will make you too control-freaky.

Hi everyone,
Two weeks later, hubby is right there with me. He told me yesterday he doesn't want to see me unhappy and we're going to TTC for number 4 as soon as my cycles are back to normal after I get my Mirena out :omg:
I'm soooooo happy. When I asked him if I could try LE diet to get DD a sister, he said: yes, that's totally fine for me. So if it's fine for him, it's my turn now to make the decision when and how to sway.

Thanks everyone :) I am over the moon.
I'm calling the midwive tomorrow to see if she can get my Mirena out. 3 months after she put it in, she actually checked why I was still bleeding and couldn't find the small cord to get it out, so I'm not sure if she'll be able to get it out. If she can't, I have an OB appointment the 25th of July and he told me he should be able to remove it. I think we'll start TTC'ing by september/october.

@Atomic, thanks a lot. I do have some questions, but I totally understand if you're too busy with your tribe and the personal plans to answer them. And maybe the other ladies can help me out too.
* Should I take folic acid while swaying, or does this sway blue? I don't remember this... It has been too long.
* What about the attempts? Is it still one attempt at positive OPK? I got pretty good in reading OPK's and I got pregnant in the thirth cycle with one attempt, so I think we could try that again at least six months. Should hubby release the days before or not? And what about big O? I didn't read anything about that anymore in the latest sways....

Yes please everyone take folic acid. REgardless of how it sways, it's the only nutrient ever proven to prevent birth defects when taken prior to conception. 1200-1600 mcg daily starting now through the entire first trimester, then at that point gradually wean back till down to the amount in a prenatal, then you can drop them.
Yes please start off with one attempt at positive OPK (or with a cutoff if you prefer, although it doesn't work). I would probably recommend going to e4d a little sooner than 6 months, but that's totally your call to make.
If you like, you can have hubby abstain (if he's under 35) or do daily (frequent) release daily for 7-10 days prior. BUT neither of htose things have worked and a lot of people are now just having their husband do regular release every 2-4 days.
What you can do is start off with one attempt at pos OPK with daily release, then go to one attempt plus regular release, then e4d over time
Supposedly Big O sways blue, but we've had plenty of people get girls with Big O so I doubt it does much.
Fiya
June 2nd, 2019, 03:53 AM
Thanks a lot for getting back to me Atomic. I'll take 1600 mcg of folic acid every day and we'll start with one attempt at positive OPK without paying much attention to the release pattern the days before. My hubby turned 35 in January. And as for big O, I have gotten two boys with it and a girl without it, but it could just be the other things I did which swayed.
I'm having my Mirena removed the 13th of this month and I still have regular cycles of 28 days with it, so I think and hope my cycles stay that way after having it removed. I'll start the LE diet at the end of this month I think.
I'm soooo excited and since hubby told me yes, he's excited too. We're realizing a lot of things are going to change with 4 :running: We're going to have a very busy house lol
