View Full Version : QUICK! One Attempt in Fertile Window?

URGENT QUESTION!!

Waaah! I’ve been on the LE diet now for 6 weeks and have been tracking my cycles with OPKs for a few months (for what it’s worth!!) anyway, we DTD on CD13 and jump and dumped.
I usually peak CD13/14 however I’ve peak OPK today at CD15.

I’m worried I may have jumped the gun a bit with my attempt on CD13.

Dare I attempt again today?

Sorry for the urgent message, I’m just not sure what to do for the best!!

Sorry, probably worth me clarifying...

If I’m getting peak OPK now, I think that means I’m due to ovulate 12-24 hours from now?

If so, does that take my attempt 2 days ago too far away from O to be classed as being in the fertile window??

Important bit of information for me to add is that DH is on Sertroline, which I’m conscious may lower sperm count (he’s 30 too if that helps).

Too many factors, I was so content with my sway until I O’d later than expected!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!

Oh sorry I only just now spotted this

What I would do is use the rule of thumb, "for best odds of conception, have another attempt, for best odds of pink, stick with attempt you've had." With only 6 weeks on diet I think you should probably stick with the one you've had but it's your call to make.

To answer your further questions - yes pos OPK means you'll O sometime 12-48 hours afterwards (usually) and average of 36 hours afterwards. I don't think the CD 13 attempt is necessarily too early but that coupled with the J and D and the sertroline may really cut odds too far. BUT you have only been on diet for 6 weeks so my gut is for you to hold, but totally at your discretion of course. AT this point, you've probably made your choice and whatever you decided was the right thing to do

Thanks for so much for your reply atomic.

I did decide to stick with my one attempt.

Finding I’m having really prolonged ovulation pain this month (usually lasts a day or two) but I’m now onto day 4! Taking that as a sign I’ll have ovulated at the far end of the scale!

Can’t help but find myself wishing away time for next cycle already!!

Well, you can get O pain before, during, and after ovulation, and you can even get it when your body gears up to ovulate and then decides to hold off for a few days/weeks. So unfortunately it's not a sure thing, but can be a likely sign (like dark clouds can usually mean rain but sometimes it blows over)

Good luck!
