Hi :)
My husband and I plan to start ttc this month, and I'm getting nervous (and trying not to obsess as I understand that might have a negative effect [emoji28])
I was doing a very strict LE diet, but was losing weight far too quickly, so I've had to modify it as I don't have heaps to lose... But I'm still in weight lots mode. I'm now eating
- a very small serve of plain oats with water for breakfast,
- steamed frozen veg and 2 rice cakes for lunch
- pasta or rice with some chicken broth (no salt added) with a small amount of chicken, some frozen veg for dinner.
I know I should be vegetarian but couldn't cut it...
- minimal snacking - iceberg lettuce or rice cakes if needed
I've gone to this from a previously high red meat, tomato and potato (and sugar) heavy diet, so the diet, though not perfect, is a massive change for me
We plan to aim for a 5 day cut off, though I understand timing isn't thought to be huge here...
And use acijel third of an applicator just before or as lubricant (given I'm trying to avoid orgasm or any activity that would increase my own lubrication...). I am unsure of this is the right way to be using this product, bit an worried that if I leave time between application and the deed, my body will rapidly "correct" my pH to maintain homeostasis, undoing any effect it may have had.
Is there anything major I need to change? I am swaying girl after 2 sons, and this is our last child, so it means a lot to me that I don't regret anything in my sway...
Thank you so much for your help!

That is with a single bd... My cycle is irregular, so the cut-off is going to be imperfect I imagine

Good, I don't want you to lose too much weight.
Can you please give me totals for the day? Fat, protein, calories?? I am really worried, that sounds like a borderline starvation diet and not LE Diet which has set amounts of cals, protein, and fat to be sure you continue ovulating and can get and stay pregnant.
A five day cutoff has effectively zero chance of pregnancy. I ccan't recommend doing that especially with Acijel which will kill sperm. I think you should aim at 3 day cutoff at the furthest.
pH stuff hasn't worked for us anyway. I wouldn't get too worked up over the time between application and deed, or homeostasis worries, because pH has not done anything in our results and it's just not worth stressing over.
:agree: one attempt has been by far more effective than timing so my advice is to err on the side of keeping one attempt rather than doing timing.

Thank you so much for your reply. Since I saw it this morning I've increased my carb intake straight away, as I think you are right. I haven't had a chance to actually calculate the different components, so had just been going as low as I could manage on everything. I'll find an app and work on figuring out my intake.
I'll post again once I've figured it out.
I will also reduce the cut off we're aiming for to 2-3 days, and will use minimal acijel.
Thank you again for your help! I very much appreciate your input!!

Okay, so according to the app I just used, I think I've improved things by increasing my carb intake (pasta) and eating a bit more protein with dinner. It's still a big reduction from normal for me, so I still feel like it should help...I'll attach screenshots of the breakdown. Let me know of you can't see them :)

I took in 1330 calories in the day. I've exceeded the protein goal, though I know you said not important is a reduction from normal which it definitely still is... But I'll try to cut the protein back down and make up for it in carbs.

I'm really stuck on this girl diet and need some advice on how to sway the odds.
I'v started eating pasta and cheese and have started taking some calcium tablets with added vitamin d. But I am stuck on what else to eat and I'm starving! Lol.
I'm going to go any buy some cranberry juice tomorrow to up the acidity but what else do you guys do for meals/snacks?
Thanks

Sent from my SM-G960F using TapatalkHey, I think that the diet recommendation here is a bit different to elsewhere... My understanding is that high calcium isn't considered to be so important, nor is Cranberry/acidification. Instead it's a "low everything " diet, meaning that a drop in your intake of energy, and nutrients might be more helpful. If you go through the pinned posts you'll find one that's called something along the lines of"low everything in a nutshell". Good luck with your journey :)

:agree: whenever people say they're going as low as they can without counting it has ended up biting us. Glad you're tracking now!
14 grams of fat is not gonna cut it. 30 g at the minimum. By eating more fat you will boost up the cals.
ARe you counting the fat and protein in fruits and veg? They are free for protein and fat (and low carb veg are free and unlimited for everything.) Many times when people are getting high on protein it's due to counting the protein and fat in fruit and veg
I prefer that about 97% of people (with the exception of people who are quite petite) are getting more in the neighborhood of 1500-1800. This keeps ovulation going more reliably.

We do things a little differently on this site, since we base our swaying info on the newest information rather than things from 50 years ago that were debunked 30 years ago, LOL .
The short version of LE Diet is here https://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-girl/16780-low-everything-diet-nutshell-version.html And the LE Diet FAQ's are here https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-girl/24628-le-diet-faq.html#post335985 and here https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-a-girl-best-practices/62533-le-diet-faq-2-mineral-madness-edition.html
You MUST NOT take added Vitamin D. I know they say that on some sites but Vit. D raises testosterone and fertility hugely and most of us got opposites taking it and gave it up to get my girl! (2 boys on calcium/magnesium/Vit. D, got my girl without it)
Cranberry juice is USELESS. All you're doing is adding nutrients and nutrients across the boards sway blue. Cranberry juice is super diluted and has very little "good stuff" in it. Cranberry supplements are much, much more concentrated, but even they don't sway blue (and they're dangerous anyway!) Cranberry doesn't work at all and so since even the supps don't work, there's no way the juice does anything.

Yes, I've been including the veg in my calculations. I'll take them out from now on and see how I go. I really do appreciate your help.
Theoretical question (but don't worry, I understand that there is no point in starving myself because I just likely won't get pregnant at all) - Do you think that my current increase in calories from what I was doing for the first couple of weeks of my diet is going to possibly have a negative impact on my sway, given my body might "think" conditions are improving (compared my unintended marked calorie restriction conditions)? Sorry if that makes no sense.
Thanks again for your time!!

excellent! So that will give you a lot more wiggle room.
No because it was only for a couple weeks and you're correcting course now. We all have times where we maybe don't eat as much. It's only when it's sustained over time that your body really gets that signal that times were bad and have now improved.

Just wanted to pop back after reading your post about going to the restaurant.
Salad dressings and pasta sauces are 1000% allowed on LE Diet. You do not need and in fact sice you've been having so little fat, you MUST not skip fat! Eat the dressing girl!!
There is no benefit to avoiding salt or tomato/potassium foods for a sway. I have a full explantion of that here:https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-a-girl-best-practices/62533-le-diet-faq-2-mineral-madness-edition.html

Thanks for pointing everything out to me atomic. I am so confused with this diet that I have no clue on what I can and cannot have. I only took 1 the vitamin d as found that apparently sways boy so stopped before I even started.
I really am stuck, iv been losing weight because of how little I'm eating as I don't have a clue what can and can't be eaten. I have just stuck to pasta, cheese, yogurts low fat, some low sodium bread. I'm just so stuck now.
Can anyone recommend any diet foods to alter this and help me sway girl???
I want to try for one at the end of September, early October. I'm stopping my pill after this cycle and have ovulation sticks ready and I'm already taking folic acid.
Thanks in advance xXx

Foods in and of themselves don't sway. It is all about the limits for the day. 1500-1800 cals, 40-50 g protein, 30-60 g fat.
You DO NOT NEED to only eat pasta, cheese, yogurt, and low sodium bread. I know they say that on other sites but we have almost 10 years proving that you can eat whatever you want in those limits and sway pink. Did I post this for you yet? https://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-girl/16780-low-everything-diet-nutshell-version.html
If you lose too much weight you'll stop ovulating. WE need to be very careful that you don't lose too much weight and stop ovulating! What's your BMI now?

Thanks atomic, I'm a size 12 in clothes lol I wouldn't say I'm big but I'm not on the small side either and I bloat very easily. My weight after my last pill check 2 months ago was 10st and I'm 5'3 in height.
Thanks again.

Ok. In that case just follow the standard LE Diet and see how it goes. You just don't need to eat like that to get a girl! It isn't true and you can make yourself sick, mess up your menstrual cycle, and make it much harder for yourself to stick to the diet.

Hi again atomic,
So sorry about all the questions... My cycle is extremely variable, and tends to be either around 34 or 50 days long.
We BDd on CD 18, as my most recent cycle would have made this around a 2-3 day cut off... But, of course, now ovulation hasn't happened. If there's no sign of ovulation in another 8 days, I have been considering another attempt 8 days after the first, in hope that all of my husband's sperm etc would be gone and therefore would be similar to a single bd... Too risky in your opinion, and we just wait till next month? I feel like we could struggle to conceive like this [emoji85] perhaps we should just scrap timing all together and just bd at positive opk...

I think you need to do e4d method - unprotected sex every 96 (better chance of pink) or 72 (better chance of conception) hours. This is still one attempt (BD every 8 days will be WAYYYYY too long and give you next to no chance of conception)
OPK can be false negatives so with those very long cycles I think you're better off having regular sex so you won't miss a month.

So you don't think that frequency of intercourse plays a huge role then? What have you seen with regards to the effect of frequency? I understand you don't think timing had a big impact on effectiveness of girl sway, is that right?

Frequency hasn't worked. It's the number of attempts in the fertile window that sways, not frequency. And by having attempts every 4 days that ends up being one attempt in fertile window (and there's an explanation for that if you'd like to hear it.)
Timing doesn't work at all and has been as debunked as it's possible for something in science to BE debunked. 4 of my 5 are timing opposites - I got my girl in boy timing!

Hey guys,
I'm reaching out because I'm sitting in tears, for no good reason. I am only 8 weeks along, so I have no idea what the gender of my baby will be, and yet somehow I feel like I know I'm carrying my third son. It will be our last baby, and I feel this deep and overwhelming grief that I'll never have the daughter that I want so badly. I feel trapped and isolated. I will of course love this baby, just as I adore their brothers... But I'm absolutely dreading finding out the sex. And I feel so guilty about it too. Are you able to direct me to any helpful groups /forums /resources at all? Thanks so much for all of your help x

Many people have felt exactly like this and found out they were having a girl.
You are among people who totally understand all those feelings - we do have a gender disappointment forum here: https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-disappointment/ Please feel free to share whatever feelings you're having.

Thank you. We ran the nipt test early, and I'm having my third boy. After many tears and some pretty terrible thoughts, I'm accepting things now. The things I really wanted with a daughter - an open, close, and loving relationship, particularly as she grew up - can exist just as completely with my sons. Its time for me to let go, and just focus on loving the little people we've been lucky enough to have. Thank you for your understanding, kindness, and help along the way x
