I switched from folic acid to folate due to having history of a miscarriage and a chemical. The folate is 800 mcg. Do I take two of these plus what’s in my women’s one a day? Also thinking about switching to a prenatal but I doubt that will matter. Is 2000 mcg too much or do you recommend for women with my history?

I do recommend up to 2000 for those with recurrent losses. Do be aware that the One a Day has folic acid not folate, so if you really ahve an inability to process folic acid, you'd need to switch to a vitamin with folate instead of FA in it and even avoid folic acid added to breads and other cereal foods. At the end of the first trimester be sure and wean off gradually rather than stopping it cold turkey.

I really am not certain if I am one that cannot tolerate folic acid. I have always taken folic acid, and it resulted in two live children, one miscarriage in the first tri, and one chemical. I figured to be safe to take folate instead and am waiting for my prenatal with folate to arrive and then I will make the switch.

Ok! Yes everyone can take folate so it's always a good switch to make just in case. :)

Thank you so much. I am taking fish oil, coq10, vitamin D, probiotic, folate, and multi vitamin. What should I stop taking if I am lucky enough to become pregnant? How do I wean off of coq10 of it is 100 mg in one pill? Just start taking it every other day? Should I be stopping all except for folate and prenatal/multivitamin and wean off of folate after first tri?

How much fish oil and Vitamin D?

550 mg fish oil daily, and for vitamin d, I take two extra capsules on top of the multivitamin amount. I don’t have them on me and I forgot how much in each:/
Side note I took a test last night and it was positive, but not dark. Took another this am and it was faint ( but a different brand). Had blood drawn today waiting to hear back. I actually have some symptoms this time versus my last chemical, but worried since I am due for period on Sunday and was thinking lines should have been darker. Thank you for being so kind and knowledgeable. Praying that this is something this time.

550 mg fish oil is fine to continue thru pregnancy. Take 1000 IU Vit. D total (so you may need to wean off one of those extra D.
Probiotic, continue during pregnancy. Folate thru end of first trimester and wean off. Most multivitamins are similar in composition to prenatals and can be used instead (I took my multivitamin all through the whole pregnancy for my last three babies!)
Only the Coq10 will need to be weaned off of by spacing doses further and further out till down to one per week, then you can drop them.

The ritual prenatal that I am taking now instead of multivitamin has 200IU of vitamin d in it:/. Is this really bad?

Some sources https://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-health/vitamin-d-and-pregnancy/ are advising women take even as much as 4000 IU Vit. D while TTC and pregnant. I wouldn't take more than 1000 except under your doctor's guidance.
I am confused by your question. YOu're taking 200 IU Vit. D - that is actually less than recommended. So no, it's not really bad, it won't hurt you, but I do think your sway and baby's health would be better if you took more.

I’m sorry, I mistyped. The Ritual brand prenatal has 2000IU in it, not 200. I was taking a women’s one a day multivitamin plus two 400 vitamin d a day. But now since I switched to the prenatal I do not take any extra since it has 2000IU. So you advise i discontinue prenatal because 2000 is too much?

Many sources recommend up to 4000 IU in pregnancy. I suspect that 2000 is fine, I just feel better recommending 1000.
I would not discontinue the prenatal if you like it otherwise for that reason.

Has anyone gotten headaches from taking FA?
Started taking them this month and I've been waking up to headaches and dizzyness.. Wondering if it's the pills

Cut back to half the dose and see if it gets better.
