So I pretty much never know when I ovulate and I don’t even test to see when I do. I sadly rely on my app to track it for me which basically tells me 7-14 days after my period is when I ovulate. I’ve also had friends tell me BD as much as I can 2 days before I ovulate for that whole day (impossible) and then I have those who tell me 1 and done but still days before ovulation. I pretty much think my weight (overweight) sways girls but my lifestyle I think I sway boy. I am also a cancer patient with limited time to conceive AND just finished my cycle legit 2 days ago. Hope I can catch when I ovulate !

I know we talked about this privately already but you guys, the apps do not work unless your cycle is, and stays, perfectly regular. It is normal for cycles to change a day or two or three either way. Most people ovulate 10-14 days after their period starts. It's unusual to ovulate 7-9 days after your period starts.

Your friends are giving you bad advice because having intercourse several times sways BLUE. You want to have just one attempt for a girl.

My inclination would be for you to do the every 4 day method in the every 72 hour pattern (so count the days Monday, Thursday, Sunday, etc). Start this right away as soon as your period stops. You don't need to track anything to conceive, just need to have regular unprotected sex, but not too often as lots of sex sways blue. We've had good results with the e4d method.

Thank you atomic!

Does that mean he releases inside or outside? What sucks is that I absolutely missed the window I think. We are both sick so should I wait next cycle or still this cycle? I mean in a way I can’t ovulation makes us frisky lol
Also sex heals a cold in his eyes (any excuse)

When doing the every 4 day method those are unprotected attempts where he releases inside.

Even if you think you missed the window, attempt (if you feel up to it and good about your sway otherwise). There's no harm in an attempt after the window has closed, and if you're wrong and it's still open, you can conceive!

Thank you!!
Do I need test to track ovulation or is there another way?
This month I just went based off the days after AF. I know I know apps are the last thing to go based off of but Ovulation is said to have happened today so did my attempt of these 2 days just scream blue?

No you don't need to track ovulation, you can do the every 4 day method instead if you don't want to track with the strips. Totally up to you.

2 days was worse than one historically in our results (although lately, they're very close - but I suspect this is because a lot of people who don't sway much in other ways do the one attempt, and it's dropped due to that) but it was 3 that was really the killer. And even with the dreaded 3 attempts, we still got girls in a healthy amount, just not as high as we'd like to see. It's done now so just try to not obsess over it, and sending you tons of pink dust!

I skipped yesterday but woke up to white and red rose petals, yellow and orange roses, chocolate strawberries and my favorite wine!! How can I turn that down?! If this is the month this is going to be a boy or one lucky pink lol

Even with 3 attempts, we still have plenty of girls conceived. None of this stuff is magic bullets!! Good luck and pink dust!

Oh and please can you tell me again if you already haven’t..

How do I know when I ovulate without opk or anything else?

Well, some of us can tell with symptoms, like I have high libido and then nothing after ovulation, and I often have a dramatic mood shift after ovulation. But this doesn't tell us the DAY of O. I often have a couple days where I'm really not sure if it happened or not. Same with other symptoms like O pains and CM - you notice when there's a lot, you notice when it's totally gone, but there are invariably a couple days in the middle when maybe it's there and maybe it's not, and one of those days is likely O Day.

There is no reliable way to tell the day of ovulation without ultrasound and blood tests. You can use OPK and symptoms and temping, but studies have shown that even highly trained experts using the best OPK and thermometers, can only get ovulation day 1 out of 3 days. They can get close, but not the actual day. And even with pretty regular cycles, it's completely normal to have variations a day or two either direction (so one month you have a 26 day cycle, the next month it's 29, etc) and so while some people would say you can just expect ovulation to happen on CD 14, that's really not true and it can vary.

So the unfortunate answer is that you really can't know, but the good news is, even if you used OPK you couldn't know either.

Wow so it’s almost like a waste of money buying those test. I mean I’d still like to give it a try though. I wish there was a magic button of like guarantee pregnancy. Bless those fertile Myrtle women!!

It's not a waste of money, it can get you in the ballpark (but yes that's why I recommend getting the cheapo ones online!)

If i had the resources and wanted to be a zillionaire, I'd launch into a cheap and infallible way to track the cycle. I suspect it will happen in our lifetimes, they're able to track things like blood sugar and stuff nowadays via smartphones with finger sticks, it won't be long.

I wish I could connect with more women who have or have had cancer but are still TTC.
In my healing process I’ve decided to blend fruit and vegetables for breakfast and of course I limited meat which I’ve been seeing sways girl. I wasn’t before but I am now able to exercise by walking everywhere I go. I’m almost certain I will be losing weight doing this which I’m hoping helps as well. I have a lack of appetite due to my sickness so breakfast is usually 2-3 hours after I wake up. I don’t snack but chicken and ground turkey are the only 2 meats I do consume if I eat it.

First and foremost you need to eat the diet that's appropriate for you with your health so only limit meat if you can get away with doing that. If you need the meat to help keep yourself fed then please eat it!

Just remember once you get to BMI 21 hold steady at that weight, no need to lose any more than that.

It’s best to eliminate meat as a cancer patient. Most doctors recommend that being that I also hate the taste of it, which is also common for pre and post chemo patients. Dairy is also a NO NO for us because of the mucus build up dairy may cause.

The diet I chose is to blend all
My vegetables and fruit together because some things I just can not eat raw. Raw vegetables aren’t always the best tasting lol so why not blend it into a juice or something to still have it nourish my body.

That makes sense but how are you meant to be getting protein and fat?? Fruit and veg are pretty low in protein and fat.

According to Oncologist protein is consumed when I eat chicken, turkey, eggs & beans

I for sure have ground turkey and some days I eat chicken and other days I pick at it due to it tasting weird but I absolutely get my fruit and veggies in! I’ll be fasting for 3 days and I was wondering what your take on fasting and TTC?

atomic sagebrush

I prefer that you guys don't, because it can delay or even stop ovulation. But if you need to do that for your medical treatment obviously that's not going to be avoidable.

Fasting in general can delay it?

atomic sagebrush
January 8th, 2020, 06:37 PM
Yes absolutely, any type of sudden, severe caloric restriction

Yes absolutely, any type of sudden, severe caloric restriction can delay or even stop ovulation in its tracks till your body feels it is a safe time to get pregnant
