how many times to dtd

Hey all, got a positive on my opk this morning and I really want to get two attempts in today because I'll be working all tomorrow and I fear I'll be in the girl zone by the time I get home. I was thinking about dtd at 10pm and around 4.30am. Do you think that's ok? we've been abstaining for 3 days.

I don't know that you'll get much in there the second time with that short of a time between attempts. How quickly do you ovulate after the +opk? I bet you could do an attempt this evening when you get home from work and then again in the morning if you want, that way maybe you could have a 12hr span between? I think a 24hr build up is best, but 12hrs would be something at least.

Personally, I would give at least 12-24 hrs between each attempt. How many days of + OPK's do you usually have?

I normally get 2-3 days of positive opk but from charting my bbt, I know I ovulate the day after my 1 first opk. The thing is that by the time dh gets back home and we put the kids to bed, it's probably going to be 10pm. so do i just forget the second attempt and just do one attempt? I work till 11pm tomorrow and so any attempt after work will be way past 11pm, i dont know if i should risk it.

It wouldn't hurt to try I don't think would still be sperm in there :)

someone in another forum just told me that dtd 2x that close will sway girl. is that true? dont want to do anything that will ruin my blue sway.

Dtd multiple times too close together sways girl because you are dramatically reducing his sperm count. Timing does not sway either way so I would not worry about when you dtd, only worry about the frequency that you dtd. It would be best to dtd once tonight and then wait at least 24 hours and dtd again if you want to get in multiple attempts.

Yes, but the pink swayers throw away the first batch and only use the second! If you DTD two times in succession, that will simply add more sperm into the vagina which would be GOOD for blue. Also the high pH of the semen may help max. numbers of sperm from the second batch to survive

That having been said, timing does NOT sway and so you need not worry at all about getting in the "girl zone". The "girl zone" does not exist. Not only that, but even if you ended up with an O+12 you have very slim chance of pg anyway. The odds would be that you would conceive with the earlier round of BD anyway.

Waiting 12-24 hours would certainly allow sperm numbers to have time to rise, but as long as you're using both batches, BD 2 times in one day is ok for blue!

I was going to say the same as Atomic - far better to get more sperm in, even if your attempts are fairly close together, than to try and wait 24 hours and for the second attempt to miss the egg altogether!

You want higher numbers of sperm for a boy - and more is more even if it's only a little bit more!

Thanks atomic and Zanacal. Wish I saw your responses earlier, I ended up waiting 24 hours to do the second attempt. I'm pretty sure I ovulated yesterday because I had ovulation pains and a lot of ewcm. I'm completely dry today so I am 1dpo, I hope the 1st attempt was enough to get me preggos.

I'm sorry... I hope I didn't give bad advice! I know for my DH, he is usually "empty" if we go for more than once every 12 hrs or so. He can still preform, there just isn't much semen. SO for my attempts, I was trying to go 24-48 hrs between.

I hope you got enough swimmers in there and you get pg this month! FX!

That's ok. For now, I'm just glad I got my 2 attemps in. Keeping my FXed too and :pray:
