We had our 20 week anatomy scan today and most importantly, everything looked great and baby is healthy! However, we wanted to find out the sex and baby didn't cooperate. The ultrasound tech first said she was pretty sure it was a boy (and labeled the picture as such) but then immediately backtracked and said she really wasn't sure. She spent about 10 minutes trying to get a good look and never did. By the end of the appointment, the tech said she didn't feel confident enough to even guess more than 50/50. With my son, it was completely obvious, no questions. Here, we never saw a penis at all and only what could be a scrotum but could also be labia. My mom, who is the director of a large OB unit (so lots of pregnancy/birth expertise, but not necessarily professional ultrasound reading experience) thinks it looks more like a girl. Anyone on here who has experience with reading ultrasounds have a sense from this picture?

I can easily see this going either way, sorry. It's just not classic boy or classic girl and I suspect the tech was zoomed in too far when they took the pic making the structures look different than they really are.
