I would love a little girl to complete our family of 4. I already have a little boy [emoji170] [emoji178] https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200114/3870f23b119ec3e18772b52de7ee28ff.jpg

Tentative pink lean but I feel we're not seeing the full nub here

A few people have said that. How come you can't see the full nub i thought the pointed bit at the end was the nub? Xx

The nub is normally imaged as one or two straight lines, sometimes with a forked end or a bump above/on the end. Yours is not really captured fully in this photo, do you have any other photos? Your babies head looks really really similar to my girls 12 week scan.. it’s uncanny!

Ultrasound tecnicians can zoom in on some parts and not others. That's why you can see a photo of a baby that appears to have no arms and legs, that kind of thing. Those things are there, it's just not showing up. So in your nub, it's not really a classic boy or girl shape, because only part of it is registering on the photo. The rest of it isn't there. So while I'm trying to fill in the blanks and assume that since the "root" of the nub is straight, the rest of it will be too, I can't really assume that with a very high level of confidence. So I give a tentative pink lean but can't say for sure, that's all.
Re skull - it's not highly accurate as skull shape can vary quite dramatically depending on genetics and also can not be captured accurately in ultrasound but I do agree it's more pink than blue.
