OOTB - hope AF turns up soon - that is my worst time when you know you are not PG, but can't move on until it arrives
Suregena - Sorry for the BFN, they are so hard to see (hugs)
RF - have a lovely weekend with your mum
Mocha - good luck with the baggy jumpers!
Sweetsister - good to have you back. Best of luck this month.
(waves) to everyone else, I will be online a bit more when get back home!! xx
Hi MAYBEONEDAY.. nice to see you :) im cheering for you though you still have time...i am doing the sperm meets egg plan Atomic recommends for clomid sway but its pretty simply dtd everyday during your fertile window you could drop the frequent release and do just one attempt a day, just stick to the diet which is the last thing to drop as its the most important, but not sure how frequent your release is ?
There you are sweet sister....how are you?
When do you try this month.?
I have been thinking of you!
AAAw so sweet Im so happy to be trying ...i should start trying around the 12 but who knows as im taking Clomid and my cycle is so off ,so im hoping to regulate that ,im just a little scuuuuared about the twin factor in that equation!
What about you are you attempting soon or what is your plan?

I wish I knew what my body was doing. :( I've had a headache for two days now, I have all of a sudden gone from not being 'regular' (in the bathroom!) to very regular!!
I'm on CD31. :(
My CP is highish. WTH!!!

Yes... it's a mixture of creamy but stretchy, but it isn't eggwhite/clear... it does not feel slippery, either. It seems kind of dense. I don't know.
This cycle is bizarre, bizarre, bizarre. AF, get here already... let me get on with it!

I almost feel like I should test again. :/ Maybe I should. I don't know.
I stopped vitex probably January 16th so SURELY my cycle couldn't be THIS thrown off by it, could it?

Seriously... 3rd bathroom trip today (for the other TMI thing)... it is just SO not me.
I hate you, body! :hair:
I think it'd be different if I was feeling normal, but I haven't been. I'm STILL having cramping, etcetera.

February 4th, 2012, 12:42 PM
I'm too chicken to take another one, but plenty of CM up there, really. White/yellow, stretchy. Ehhhh. I haven't been this late for a period in... well, ever... really. I know it's only 4 days late, but, eh!

Hi ladies! I hope all is well with you all.
Suregena, sorry your body is not cooperating. I praying your little bean is just really stubborn and you will get a BFP soon.
It's CD12 for me and I have started OPK's with none being + yet. We started DTD today, as I am bound and determined to catch that egg this cycle of Clomid if it kills me. I think on Clomid you are supposed to O 5-7 days after last pill which would be around CD17, so I have a few days to get geared up for it. I am dreading the O pains though. Last time they were so bad I did not want him to touch me much less DTD, but I am going to no matter what this time. Used SYLK for the first time this AM and it did not seem to burn me or anything so that is a good sign I think not having a reaction to it. Planning on JAD as well with an O to help get swimmers in the right directioin even though O is supposed to sway boys, I would hate to have to take Clomid more than a few cycles. I know I am crazy, and have not used the DIVA this time even though it has crossed my mind. I figure multiple DTD and JAD should hopefully get the job done and maybe an O or two won't hurt LOL!!!
Any other Clomid users out there who want to chat or compare notes?
amari
February 4th, 2012, 01:37 PM
Can't chat now but I would love to! There is also a sticky now for us clomid swayers on the gender discussion sub-forum I think is where it is. Will post there later tonight!

Part of me highly doubts it, but I don't like this game-playing. :( I keep going back and forth on ordering the stuff I need this coming month or not. Ugh.
Mochagirl
February 4th, 2012, 02:41 PM
I say order the stuff, suregena. Maybe it will be like the weather - whenever you remember to bring an umbrella the weather turns lovely, and when you forget an umbrella it pours rain. Order the supplies, and maybe you'll get your BFP and not need them anymore . I'm sure you could always find someone here who'd be willing to buy your supplies from you.

For sure a f?
I have had spotting on cd 10 twice now...vitex?
Hi lemon! It was a false alarm. I thought AF was starting as I woke up to a big drop in temp and a small amt of fresh blood when I went to the loo. But then I just spotted for the rest of the day. Now that has settled and my temp is back up. Hope you're going well.

KraizyDaizy, not long now! I like the sound of your plan. FX it all works out for you. So it sounds like you, Amari and sweetsister are all on clomid. Anyone else? Sweetsister, a friend of mine needed clomid to get pg with her first baby. She had a girl, but only one! The sound of twins sounds great to me, but I completely understand why that could be a worry for some.

Riiight...
Got digital opk's, BBT, licorice root (for hubbo!), vitex, red raspberry leaf tea (didn't do that last time), peppermint tea, fibre supplement (in powder form this time...), er... think that's all I need/ran out of... I'm feeling like half of my brain is missing right now... starting to lose track of what I need!
I felt AF type cramps a while ago, but no... still nothing.

Ok, I am getting really irritated with this 2WW!! I am having SO much cramping, I feel like AF should arrive imminently (I'm only 6DPO). It is actually borderline uncomfortable, and I'm wondering if it could be something like a bladder infection, but I don't have any other symptoms. Has anyone had this before??? I tested this morning just for kicks (at 6DPO I expect nothing more than BFN on a cheap internet dip stick), and surprise surprise it was a BFN. But really, this cramping is ridiculous!

HOLY CRAP. I have come upstairs to brush my teeth and, earlier, I had dug out that test from its plastic casing (because those plastic windows are hard to see through and create all sorts of odd shadows) and it was still wet from being in there... so obviously now it's dry, and I can see a sliver shadow of a line! What does it MEAN! What is a evap line look like? Crap! I just spent a load of money for OPKs and stuff! What if I don't need them after all?!
*slaps forehead* I'm using one of those digital pregnancy tests in the morning...
I'd take a picture but I've tried and it's just so faint. I'm not sure how I'd be able to pick it up, even with my DSLR...
Argh! I cancelled the one order I COULD cancel... but otherwise, if this is for real and not some sort of evap line weirdness... I might have a load of digital OPKs/vitex/BBT thermometer I need to sell off!
Not going to get too excited...
Who am I kidding? It's 2.30am. Crap!
I definitely see it, so I'm not creating it, but it's whether it is a proper line or not.
How am I going to sleep noooow?!

Oh it's making me so mad! Did you say your dr said you have OHSS? Would that cause the cramping? Did they do an ultrasound to rule out pregnancy? Do you just have to wait for AF, or will the dr induce a period at a certain point? So irritating! I wish our bodies would just behave...

I had a pink evap line before my first pregnancy (I got my period the next day). But I had used a FRER, left it after seeing nothing, then came back to it a couple hours later and saw a very faint pink line. Now I know it was an evap line, but it certainly was convincing at the time! Totally different with the cheap internet dip sticks though. I find those almost easier to read once dry completely. Here's hoping yours is a true BFP though!!!!

I'm going to be on clomid too. This will be the first time I am using it. I think I take it CD3-7. Have to check, have it here ready for me to use this coming cycle. I WANT twins!! DH knows the increased chance and is TOTALLY fine with it, but not so fine trying for a 4th so I'm reallly praying!
Amari~ Thanks for the info on the new thread I'm going to check it out. I've been meaning to PM you been so busy Friday and Saturday. Need to get through the rest of the posts here too.,
Suregena~ Sorry your body is driving you crazy! I'd order the stuff now too, or I have Amazon prime (anyone whose a mom can get a free trial (BTW) for like over a year. You get free 2 day shipping on eveyhting that qualifies for prime shipping, its AMAZING. You get extended as you order more things. This way you can order stuff at CD1 and have it by CD3don't know if they do this outside the US.
Kraisy~ NOt long now...YAY!!! Keep us posted :)
Lemon~ Hi mama, where have you been.
Pinkin~ I get where you are coming from, but on the other hand if you never try you for sure get BFN's!
So anyone else feel like the days they have off are busier then when you work (if you work)! The last 2 days were like 12 hrs non stop between school projects, bday parties, errands etc. Did the COOLEST 100 day of school project for DS1 Kindergarten project. DS whose a budding artist drew what he wanted to do, we went to the art supply and bought all the materials. We took a huge poster board made and made a 3 dimensinal ship with a mast, sail, men, and cannons. We used 100 mini black pom poms shooting from the cannons and spelled out "100" and had cannon balls all over the sky. Want to post a pic but its so hard to get a good one that shows all the detail. No wonder I have boys sounds so obsessional!! DH really did most of it and me and DS helped, DS made all the extras that got glued on- it was actually fun as a family to do :)
Anyone else celebrate this? Seems to be a big thing here.

I've just got everything on order and am just going to sit and wait. Wednesday will be 1 week that AF is late (and I hope it comes before then!), which is very, very, VERY unusual for me. I cannot even remember the last time I have ever been late. I don't think I ever have been. The supps must do a number on your body! The ANNOYING thing is I have been cramping for AGES now and nothing is happening. It makes it all the more maddening. :(

I"m sick with a sinus cold thing, so not feeling so good atm :( I'm sneezing so hard I'm afriad I'm going to sneeze the baby out!
My nausea hasn't really been around for three days, and while at first I was excited about this, now I'm worried that maybe something happened to my bean? I go in my 8 week scan tomorrow and really, really think seeing the heartbeat will be great reassurance!
Hope and Dreams, the school project sounds awesome! How cool to work together as a family on it. Twins would be so awesome!! FX you get sweet baby girl twins on clomid!
Surgena, sorry about the BFN :( I was hoping you just had a late implanter that was causing the tests to be neg be4. I hope AF does eventually show up then so you can start with CD1.

And you know, that line is less noticable this morning AND there is what I believe is the evap line... i.e. a stark white line same width as the control line, but blank/colorless.
Sigh. Oh well, in a way it's a relief because so many things went wrong with 'cheats' (friend visits, son's birthday, Christmas, etcetera!) as well as getting hang of the diet in meals that will 'work' and be easy for me (which I worked out halfway through) and it was almost like a practice round, so I feel more confident this round.
... so, AF, please, please start... enough with this drawn out cramps... this is my last month to try before I have to pause for some months! :(

I'm here today as super Debbie Downer but I am so sad/mad/aggravated I am super crabby at home and I feel guilty. I'm still not sure what DPO I am but I feel very much like AF will be arriving shortly. Every pg test I take that is negative sends me spiraling to another level of depression. I know it's ridiculous to have thought I'd get a BFP right away but why let me get pregnant last month (in a big time oops) only to have a chemical miscarriage? Add that to my age and I have a lot against me. I had to go shop for my 2 yr old nieces birthday yesterday and no lie I almost completely lost it in Gymboree. The girl clothes slay me every time. I got the cutest lavender tutu with a beautiful little shirt that had small sparkly lavender butterfly wings on the back. REALLY??? Just put a knife in my heart ( can you tell I'm a drama queen)?
I obsess over every test. I take them apart just to be sure there is no faint line. I'll be in a straight jacket before maternity clothes!
I'm sorry to all of you that are feeling the same pain and frustration. I am keeping up with each of you and still holding out hope for a number of you. Just having a rough time sorry to be so depressing! Thanks for letting me rant!!

I am just curious who here is temping their cycles? I use a bbt thermometer and also a Clearblue Easy fertility monitor that I borrowed from a friend. I have been off the pill for four months (test cycles only, no ttc) and all four months the temping and monitor completely agreed on my o day each time. I know I tried using the cheapie opks when trying to get pg the first time and I did not know what to make of them at all. If I didnt temp I would be lost.
I just feel so badly for everyone who is being tormented by late afs and I wonder if they are not late at all, but rather o came later than usual. I dont think atomic checks in on this thread or she might be warning about stress making t levels spike. Temping doesnt work for everyone (the friend who loaned me her monitor could not temp because she works staggered shifts and never wakes at the same time). It is a bit of a hassle but it is sure worth it to be able to confirm that o actually happened.
I am sending lots of relaxing vibes to everyone. Fx for afs, bfps, and pink dust all around! And if your dh can throw in a backrub, even better! ::hugs::

Auroara~ Fell better hun. I meant to add before I remembered your scan was tomorrow, good luck :) I'll be checking in.
Dramabird~ I temp- I don't actually know how ladies do without it. You can check out my charts below by my siggy. I was super sick in December thats why its all over the place in that month. I don't think its hard at all. The second I wake up, I stick it in my mouth, relax for a few minutes till it beeps (its nice to stay cozy in bed for a few mins) and then just put it in the FF app on my phone next to my bed. MY DS's also know I'm not moving till its done! They wait to have their tushies wiped in my bathroom till I'm done!!!! LOL

the last 2 months not to bad, ive got to do it as soon as i see creamy cm thats right isnt it ?

February 5th, 2012, 04:29 PM
that's not always a guarantee... some women have a day or two of EWCM following OV before the CM turns creamy (I've had this a couple of cycles, but not every cycle). By the time the CM turns from EWCM to creamy the egg could be dead as it only lives for 24hrs unless fertilised

Its so funny my DH is also taking licquorice root and he says it has a horrid taste when taking the pill, i laugh so much when he takes it but bless him he takes it religiously except once when he took my one of my vitex instead by mistake. Well, I was hoping for a BFP within a few days, but instead AF has come a bit early. My cycle was wonky last time, so no real surprise... I have one little 2&1/2 year old boy and we're hoping for a girl to balance out. I actually want 3 babies, but hubby only wants 2, and THAT even took some convincing. :)
There are only two little boys on my side of the family and this looks like it will be the last baby conceived, so the pressure is on for us to produce that spoiled granddaughter for my parents. haha!

I'm even bringing a quick one page printout highlighting the ramzi theory in a nutshell, so if she's inclinced to ask for more info, I'll have it ready for her...LOL...I am bonkers!
Oh, yeah OOTB, I can't wait for Mocha's scan tomorrow too! I know Mocha can't wait as well!

Good luck with your scan today, auroara - I can't wait to hear an update!
I'm of course a ball of nerves about my scan, though I'm cautiously optimistic I'll see a heartbeat since I definitely have way more pregnancy symptoms than I did last time. If all goes well and I think of it, I'll ask about placenta placement too.
prayforprincess
February 6th, 2012, 02:03 PM
just a question -- does this mean this ramzi theory...if you ovulate from the left more likely girl and the right more likely boy? Can you ovulate from the right overy and the placenta is on the left side of the uterus?
auroara78
February 6th, 2012, 02:34 PM
Yes it's possible but the idea behind this, and rainbowflower beautifully explained it in a different thread is, if the left ovary pops the egg, then it makes more sense the baby to implant on the left side since it's already been hanging out there on that side.
Hopefully she'll chime in and it will make much more sense than what I'm trying to say!
prayforprincess
February 6th, 2012, 02:42 PM
Yes it would be interesting to hear. Though it makes me a little scared because during my ivf cycle's I was producing a lot more eggs from my right side than my left. Like double from the right what I was getting from the left. My ob told me that the theory women rotate ovulation from right to left and back to right etc. monthly is false. Some women prodominately ovulate from one side or the other. Like 2-3 times from one side then from the other and back to 2-3 times from the one. Maybe that is why there are so many one gender families -- if this whole ramzi theory is true.
Though it doesn't make me feel better because I am starting to think its my right side thats obviously predominant and I have 3 boys.....root root, go left side this month for once pleeeeease!!
auroara78
February 6th, 2012, 02:56 PM
Prayforprincess, your OB is right. There is a myth that women ovulate from left to right left to right etc, isn't true. Some women can do that, but most women have a preferred ovary they pop from. I'm not trying to scare anyone here, and this is not 100%, but I've read enough studies that *suggest* that more girls are concieved from left ovary and more boys from right ovary. Again this is not 100%, but this is one of the many reasons why I think a perfect sway can produce an opposite, etc, and why sometimes a sway that isn't so good can still produce a DG.
This is one of the elements of luck or "randominess" that makes swaying not 100%. Although again, I'm not trying to stress or ruin anyone's day, it's just the research that I've done that has suggested eggs dropped from left ovary = girls, etc. Again, I hope no one gets too upset over what I'm saying :(
prayforprincess
February 6th, 2012, 03:04 PM
I totally get what you are saying Auroara, and maybe that does explain why perfect sways don't work and not so perfect sways do. But...wouldn't that also mean that the egg has something to do with deciding gender? And that has been proven false -- all eggs are x and its the sperm that determine's gender.
But maybe certain egg's are more favorable for one type/gender sperm over another. Like the left side eggs prefer girl sperm and the right prefer boy.
Thoughts? We should get Atomic in on this discussion...I'd like to know what she thinks.
auroara78
February 6th, 2012, 03:06 PM
I'd love to get Atomic on this discussion about this! Yeah, I've heard before that eggs don't favor sperm, but yet again, it seems like somehow eggs from left just somehow get the x sperm instead? I'd love more concrete research/facts into this facet!
amari
February 6th, 2012, 03:26 PM
But isn't it not just where the embryo implants but the placenta? So the egg could come out of whichever ovary implant on whichever side of the uterus and the according to the ramzi theory isn't it the placement of the placenta itself, not the whole embryo?
rainbowflower
February 6th, 2012, 04:08 PM
I thought the location of implantation was where the placenta initially formed? that's what the books say.. and Ramzi says that it's the location at around 6 weeks that's important so it wouldn't have moved far from the implantation site in that time?
HopeandDreamG
February 6th, 2012, 04:27 PM
I also imagine (I didn't read all the posts yet about this conversation) but the Ramzi theory and subjects for a study were not swaying. So I don't know if the results could apply to women that are swaying iukwim!
dannikins
February 6th, 2012, 04:32 PM
i dont know if i believe in the ramzi theory.
i dont believe in the ovulation side producing a particular sex, i have had 4 boys from both sides, and since my ectopic i now only have my left tube.
at my 6 weeks scan this pregnancy, it had implanted right in the middle.
it is totally right about the dominant ovary thing.
they say most women have one side that ovulates 80% of the time or more, and the other side just ovulates occasionally.
mine was my right, which was also the side of my ectopic.
which explains why women with only one tube or one ovary have so much trouble falling pregnant, its not that they are doing anything wrong, its just that they have to wait untill the right side pops, and in some cases that may only be once a year.
good luck with your scan today auroara, looking forward to an update...:)

February 6th, 2012, 05:58 PM
Dannikins, I hope you are right about the ovary thing!!
I measured exactly 8 weeks + 1 day...I did concieve this child on Christmas Day!!! :)
The baby is healthy, measuring perfectly, nice yolk sac, etc etc
The baby looked to be point blank in the MIDDLE of my uterus, and the ultrasound tech was very pissy and would not indulge in ramzi in the least.
She was even a bit pffed that I asked about ovary side, and after saying it would be too hard to tell, she then announced that my right ovary has a nice sized cyst on it, so that is the side I o'ed from.
Now, I am kind of eating my words, but I'm going back over and going to research all I can and hope that right ovary does not always mean boy every single time, though I would love him, of course.
Will update later with a pic of the scan for fun!
thanks for all the warm wishes

I hate pissy tech's. I feel like they just do it all the time so it means nothing but routine for them, I get that; but these moments are special for us ladies who are NOt there all the time and they could at least appease us with a warm and gentle dimeaner.
Anyhow, I would not worry. I was looking over my IVF cycle papers this afternoon after all this right side left side talk. Anyhow, On my 2nd IVF cycle, they retreived 2 eggs from the left and 5 from the right. 7 in total and 7 fertilized. After PGD, we found we could only tell the gender for 4. We had 3 abnormal "I don't know's" because they were so abnormal. 1 abnormal xx & 3 normal xx. So we had a known 4 out of 7 girls and they had only gotten 2 eggs from the left side. So that means that I had to have some eggs on the right side that were fertilized female.
I am just saying, maybe that is true some of the time, but not other times. I was looking at u/s pics of my boys this afternoon as well and with my 1st son I could not tell. With my 2nd d/s he was definitely on the right. But with my 3rd d/s it appeared he was clearly on the left. ??? Not sure I am buying the ramzi.....

Yes, I'm at peace with it. I really stuck to the diet. Ate breakfast 2 days before 0, but didn't go over my levels for that day. Used ky instead of silk b/c I o'd early and my sylk hadn't come in yet. The 'timing' was a fluke because the sp moved my o date up so much. Dh even cut out red meat the past 4 weeks and guzzled CL for me :))). I j& d'd and did the semen emitting technique. Never did that when ttc before. I start testing at 7-8 dpi and usually get a BFp early, so I'll post once I know :))))). Now I'm praying. That I'm pregnant. That's is our sweet daughter. That I dont miscarry. Hi Everyone, Hope you are all well... I am soooo down at the moment I am turned off trying for another I am not sure why maybe due to being down about the whole ttc thing and getting bfn's.. I hate the diet makes me depressed being on it , Everything to do with ttc is stressing me out I just want to give up. I am so happy and in love with my little boy I just cant see myself having another one. My d/h is very upset about it as of right now i am 90 percent sure that i dont want another baby.. I know the longer i leave it the harder it will be but i am so desperate for a girl and i am just too scared to try because i feel i already know i will be having another boy ( which is not a bad thing) but i cant see ME being so lucky to get a girl it just wont happen, d/h said if i believe it wont happen ( us getting a girl) then it never will and that made me feel worse. As i said all this sway stuff i am finding so so stressful and its turned me off wanting to ttc right now. I had such a good sway i thought in jan I just cant do it again it was just too much work and stress i dont usually give up this easy with anything but this i find hard because in my mind i already know what my outcome will be...... I know i sound like a sook but just had to get it off my chest... Why am i so scared??? Another boy would be fantastic but why cant i see that right now???

I've felt that way too on and off - that I'm not lucky enough to get a girl. TTC is sooo difficult and a proper emotional rollercoaster, it's no wonder that we have enough now and again. I'm trying to focus on that all babies are miracles. If it's a girl I'll be thrilled, if it's a boy I'll be really happy for DS as I'm sure a brother would be amazing for him...
I disagree with your DH that if you don't believe it it won't happen, though

AAW pink I'm sorry your feeling so down right now. TTC can be so tough. I know how you feel though, I feel like that too. I also sometimes feel like "why sway when I can't even get pregnant" regardless of gender. But I let that get to me for too long now. I think that's why it's taking me so long to get pregnant. I keep giving up or chicken out when it comes time.. Look at me now, almost 5 years has passed and I wish I would have tried harder. Don't give up if you really want another baby. You do have to come to peace with the fact that is could very well be another precious little boy if you decide to try again. Believe me though, brothers are beautiful, crazy at times, but nothing else like it.

at least if you give it your best shot you'll know that, if it's a little boy, he really wanted you to be his mummy very much to overcome all of those obstacles... and you won't have regrets wishing you'd done more
the diet IS awful and so is TTC, but it's only short-term in the scheme of things

My DH said we could just continue like normal as it's still 50/50 but I told him, "Tough... I already bought everything again, so no!"
He laughed and said, "All right, I'll take my roots and do my releases!"
Ha...
I likely won't be as perfect this time, either... but we're only human and I'm at peace with another boy. I just want a baby! I'm drinking red raspberry leaf tea this time, though.
Come on, CD1....

Not to mention I already weighed under my pre-pregnancy and overall adult weight, anyway, before the diet! It was a mixture initially when I moved to the UK and ditched having a car (in the US my weight was always 135 or so, and when I moved here it went to around 120) and then after I had my son/breastfeeding, it went to 108 then steadied at 112 or 115.
Now it's 107... though while we were DTD last month it was 103!!! Grrr... but it was easily done.
The main thing is stress is never good for anyone... so I am going to get strict once AF comes. I'm still on the diet mostly but have had breakfast some days, brownies, and an egg or two this week. But not back heavy on cheese or anything, which was always my BFF pre-diet!

Kraisy~ hope you dtd!! That's def positive. thats whats so nice about the digital OPK's theres no way to mess that up. Its a smiley or NOT! Hope you feel good about your attempt.
Pinkin~ Sorry your feeling down. I now its such a downer when you get a BFN. Its hard not to get our hopes up with an attempt, but the percentage of getting preggo each month WITHOUT swaying isn't so great. Like 20-30%, but if you don't attempt its 0%. I always say when your down is not time to make a decision- wait till your feeling a little better to decide. sometimes that even helps is not making a decision temporarily.

I'm really excited!!!!!!!
Yay for your attempt... PINK PINK vibes being sent your way!!

Pinkin, sorry you're feeling down about TTC'ing/swaying. You can't get your desired gender though without trying. I understand how you feel about being scared to have another boy although you love your boy to pieces. You need to decide what is more important: keeping things as they are, and not trying again, or taking a risk and trying to obtain your dream gender. I think swaying can be very tough emotionally.

Can't wait to hear good news Mocha!
Pinkin - so sorry you are feeling low. Swaying really is hard and the diet is the killer, yet unfortunately most important. Hang in there. You can try going easy on your sway but keeping up the most important. Like stick to the diet, low glucose and use rephresh every 3 days to keep ph low. That's a hard core sway right there. Then just dtd multiple multiple times around o. Timing and attempt #'s don't sway, so its best to just make sure that you're dtd as much as possible to ensure getting pg if there's a good egg there. If you dtd like 6 times in 2 days then your dh's sperm count will be low regardless of having had him fr all month.
I hear you though. The diet is killing me and it allows for zero social life that is for sure. Never realized how much life revolved around food until you couldn't eat it anymore. Anyhow, since I know that diet and glucose is most important, I gave up my wanting to try 1 attempt for doing multiple attempts while I was still hard core on the diet. I know if I see multiple bfn's I will have to go off the diet and that is the biggest sway factor so I just wanted to ensure a bfp while I was going strong.
I am not sure what your attempt was like last month -- did you do many and in what time relation to o??

We last DTD the night of the 21st, so either that is one long lasting egg or sperm or all of the above, or I O'd this past week instead. My body's signals are SO strange to me right now. Cramping since around nearly the 20th, daily, is just crazy to me!

I'm back from my scan. I'm copying my update from my DD Buddy group because I only have a minute to post:
Hey ladies - I'm back from my scan. Everything looks good. The tech was silent for the first 10 minutes of the appt, and I was scared to death to ask if there was a heartbeat, but at the end of the scan she let me see it. What a beautiful sight! I have no idea what the baby measured since here in Canada they don't tell you much at the scan - their policy is no medical information. That info will be sent to my midwife, and I'm hoping she'll call me in a couple of days to let me know. I asked about the placenta, but apparently placenta position is medical information too so she couldn't tell me. She did show me on the screen where my placenta was, and with a transvaginal ultrasound it was just right of centre on the top of the screen. I have no idea what, if anything, that means. Anyway, I am sooooooo relieved to have seen a heartbeat! Now I have to wait until my 12 week u/s and I can start to nubsess....

This is long, so don't feel like you have to read it all!!
The ob said the ovaries are going down, there were two cysts on the right and one on the left consistent with being overstimmed. She wants me to stay off this month and will reduce me to 100 clomid next month (she is a different ob from who I used before but in the same practice). She suggested I get more closely monitored somewhere else, but I convinced her to let me come back to her around the time I might be O'ing and she said she would do an u/s b/c there is no way in hell my dh is going to pay for a specialist when frankly it is just for swaying sake, we could just have sex every day of the month and he would be fine with that.) So, I will see if I get a period on my own, if not take the provera, then take the clomid cd 5-9 again. I have an apt set up both March 22 and 29th to look at my ovaries just to see where the folicles are as compared to the opks to get a better idea of when I might ovulate. And we might just have to dtd even more often that month. Hopefully it will work out better this time and we won't totally miss the egg or overstim.
She said vitex is fine.
She also gave me progesterone b/c I asked about it, but she said she doesn't believe that it lengthens lp at all. Does it hurt a pink sway to take it? Do you think I should add that around O time?
I am thinking of using rephresh/sylk this month when not on clomid and just dtd from cd 14-25 just for the hell of it to see if anything happens, although I had those really bad days of eating batches of cookies, pizza, french toast, oatmeal, peanut butter and jelly etc. to appease my dh. Do you think that makes it a no go and I should just wait til next month?

If you do the diet really strict this month then I would say go for it. As long as you are not going to have any regrets, because then I would tell you to wait.
I also do not believe that taking progesterone lengthens your lp at all -- from experience. I took it for all my IVF cycles and to be honest, my lp was shorter taking progesterone on the cycle than it is my natural cycles. My natural cycles I have a 14-15 day lp. My IVF cycles I only had a 13 day lp on progesterone. It is thought that if you have a higher progesterone level it sways girl. That is what vitex does. I personally would not add it on o day. You are not supposed to so I would not. You do not start taking progesterone until the day after ovulation.

Good luck with the scan results! They usually call right away if there is a problem, otherwise it seems they just don't say anything! I'm in Canada too - BC. I LOVE our midwives! Sometimes I could care less for the medical system with all the politics (ie why can't we see our own scan results, etc?! It seems to come part and parcel with the universal health care for some reason. Personally, I think that lack of information, and sometimes the long waits to get in for certain procedures are the biggest downfall of our system, BUT, my parents live in the US and I don't think I would sleep at night knowing how much private medical costs ;) Geez, I'd be downright broke right now after the birth of our youngest son if I had to pay for his NICU stay! I actually found it interesting (well, irritating at the time) when my son was in the NICU almost a year ago, that they would do tests on him without consulting me; gave him his first bath without so much as telling me; and not "permitting" me to look at his charts. I personally think we have a right to that info, and it irks me that we can't just see it when we ask, but from what my midwife told me, technically in our system, that information belongs to the government, and we can request it, but it's not just handed over. Weird! I am actually a doula now, and have spent countless hours in the hospital with labouring women, and it never ceases to amaze me how once you get in those doors, the "system" seems to take over, and the choices are less transparent. Pink - So glad your feeling better. You doing what you can to sway is better than neither of you doing anything at all. :)
LMN7 - I hope it's nothing serious going on with your DH, Maybe he should cut back on the cranberry. My MIL had something similar about 6 months ago and when we took her to the ER they told us she was low on potassium! Are you tracking what he's eating? Is he getting enough potassium?
My Dh has also lost 30 lbs! not sure what that is in stones. He started out at 210 lbs and is now 178 lbs. He eats more than I do but still Lower on everything than pre-diet, low sodium, no red meat and chicken 1 or 2x a week. It's not fair :( I barely lost anything

I agree - probably techs in the U.S. are more forthcoming because you're paying for their services. I wouldn't trade Canadian healthcare for the world, and if a little lack of information is the most I suffer because of it, I'll live with that! My Dad's been in the hospital for 3.5 months with various health problems - I can only imagine how much all that would have cost if we lived elsewhere - we would have probably all gone deeply into debt helping my Mom pay for his care.

LMN7, it sounds more like a virus to me. It is likely unrelated to anything he is doing toward the sway. He obviously had a very high fever and rigors (shaking) and that can cause delerium and hallucinations. Firstly try some paracetamol to get the poor guys temp down and go from there. If you are worried about low potassium, feel his pulse on the inside of his wrist. With a fever, it is likely to be fast (over 100/min), but that is ok so long as the beats are regular. If his pulse feels slow, then fast, (jumping all over the place), or skipping beats, that can be an indicator of low potassium and/or low magnesium. GL- hope he feels better soon.

I'm a American in the UK who used to work in the healthcare system back home and now work for the NHS. I'm a loud supporter of universal healthcare as a result of the experiences in both and have really caused some noise with family back home if I see them sharing very inaccurate or not factual information about systems that provide healthcare for all, free at the point of service.
WhileI have always been able to ask questions here and was always given a copy of the report from the ultrasound, it could be a type of protocol in place for patient's in Canada, maybe that particular area? Protocol varies widely but it's always in the patient's best interest and not necessarily to withhold information. Possibly to make sure the report is accurate and thoroughly looked over, I.e. no information is shared after a CT/MRI here for clinical reasons as sometimes the answer/diagnosis/findings are not immediately obvious and for the patient it is best to make sure they are given a fully accurate diagnostic result.

I wish it was CD1 for me. :(. I'm wondering if the later this goes on if I will even be able to attempt this month. I have to go to the states the week before Christmas so a baby must be over 6 weeks old and I also have to be well under 36 weeks preggo. I need to do the math to see if attempting this month is even possible... the longer this cycle drags on. Officially 1 week late for AF!

Quick question, any of you ladies spot or bleed with O? I noticed red on my panties just a bit ago and EWCM, so may that happens on Clomid? And it's a boy full moon tonight I think!!!
The only time I've ever spotted with O was this most recent cycle, my BFP cycle! Apparently it can indicate a strong ovulation. Good luck!

Yep - that's the reason they give. u/s techs aren't doctors, and they don't want to give us erroneous medical information. We are supposed to follow up with our doctors if we want to get that information.

hi all mocha hun soooooooooooo happy your sway went we huni, heres hoping to a sticky pink bean !!
hi pinkin hun i hope you are feeling better huni, its a shame your DH wont hep with your sway, just stay calm and do what you can without his help hun,
amari hun what dose of clomid were you on before ! in the uk they start you on a low dose to see if it will make you ovulate, im on 50g and have ovulated on that all the times ive used it so far,
ok ladies im a bit scared, my DH is having a few weird things happen, hes lost half a stone since no meat, hes feeling very ill, last night he said he was freezing when infact he was burning up ! he was boiling to touch, he was violently shaking when coming to bed, he hasnt sept a wink he closes his eyes to wake up straight away, he keeps saying he feels scared and is thinking about weird stuff !!! like ducks !!! WTH !!! and he feels very weak all the time, im worried hes taking something that doesnt agree with him, hes on no meat diet, (lost half a stone) hes on 20,000 cranberrys fresh fruit equivallent, diet coke 100ml, cranberry light 3 glasses, whats wrong with him ???
That is really scary and I would take him in to see someone immediately. Did you take his temperature? Maybe he is hallucinating from a temp spike? I would take his temp, if it is high give him something to bring it down and then either way take him in to see someone. Let us know how he is doing, hun. Hope he is ok.

LMN - I'd take your DH to see the doctor, and to stop his diet and supps. There's no real swaying benefit to him doing the diet, and you can lower his sperm count naturally with frequency instead...
perhaps he is just coming down with a virus, though

I'm so sorry, hun. Why is it you don't want a November baby again?
I am going to the US before Xmas, probably a week before, and you can't fly (as far as I am aware) with an infant under 6 weeks and also you cannot fly if you're over 36 weeks pregnant. I would loooooooove a November baby, it's my birthday month and several other strong women in my family's birthdays, I.e. grandmother, my mother, my sister in law... it would be wonderful. But my AF is so late that I think a due dte would cut it too close with when I'd need to travel.... :(

hi all well i took DH to the docs and he has a nasty viral infection, he told the doc about our sway and the supps and he said it wasnt to do with that .....phew !!! his temp in the night was 38.8'C which is high !! but he seems much better now, hes sleeping it off as he didnt go back to sleep after the duck thing (nor did i for that matter) but it scared the hell outta me !!!! i was asleep and he was like "hey babe.... i keep seeing rubber ducks....." i shot out the bed and was ready to beat the hell out of a yellow ducky but of course nothing was there lol, theres a horrible virus going round at the mo and the doctor is sure thats what he has, so i feel better knowing its not the sway but boy did i panic !

littlemiss, glad to hear you found out what was wrong with DH. Seeing ducks is kinda funny tho, I know I shoudln't laugh about it...your poor DH! Hope it clears up quickly! And YAY for CD1!!
Surgena, at this point, I'd definitely go to your doctor about no AF and maybe they can jumpstart it? Even if you can't attempt now because of travel plans, you still want to move on with a new cycle!
Peony, my OB once explained to me that spotting before a period could be indictative of a short LP phase. I had spotting every month for 4-5 days before my period right before I concieved DS1. It concerned me and he said it was normal, and having a baby would stop it from happening, but it was probably hormone related. I then got pregnant from DS1 and haven't had the issue for almost five years now.
Mocha, can't wait to hear if the midwife gives you any info!
KD, I still think this your gonna-get-knocked-up cycle.
I'm still wanting to post my U/S pics, but somehow, someway, the battery in my digital camera is missing and I need to find it obviously so I can take a picture of the picture. (My husband says this creates an paradox! LOL) since I don't have a scanner anymore.
Sorry if I forgot someone......my nausea is horrendous this morning and it's distracting my thinking.

With boys I had all day feeling kind of "off" seasickness kind of thing. Not really nausesated a bunch, just felt a bit queasy and my stomach felt "off." This one I'll have hours of feeling fabulous and almost not pregnant, and then hours where i am so nauseous I wonder if I'll make it the bathroom in time. (Though I haven't done anything, just extreme nausea.) Still have a problem eating anything sugary, it makes my nausea worse, and I typically love sugary foods. I've lost weight from that alone, lol.

 Hi all!
I've been busy w/the boys and haven't had a chance to log on much so I'm not up to date w/everyone. I am thinking that my delayed AF was possibly a combo of swaying hard + nerves b/c I want to be preg so badly. I am taking a little posting vay-cay until after I O (late Feb, FX) and then I'll hopefully be back posting in full force. I'm just trying to give myself a mental swaying break this cycle and just go on "auto-pilot" w/everything so I don't consume myself. I hope you'll understand...I will miss talking w/you all and following you through this cycle but I really need to step away for a bit. I may pop on here and there but probably not every day. I am desperately hoping that all of us TTC this cycle will get our long awaited BFPs. XXXs and OOOs to all of you! :HH: I will be thinking of you all and cheering you on from afar!

I've had several little cheats this month so far because of feeling so frustrated. If my mom manages to make me feel at ease about moving the family Xmas gathering to a different month after December, I hope my food intake the past couple of weeks doesn't ruin my sway! Though I guess if I making my weight decrease again back on full-time strict dieting that it shouldn't matter much?
We'll see... I guess this next cycle is still up in the air until I have some sort of supportive reassurance from my mom to keep trying.

suregena, if I were you I would be sooooo tempted to try this month. We work so hard to get our sway just right, taking months off would be so frustrating! I almost didn't try the month I got my angel's BFP because my due date was going to be while my Mom would be on a 3 week trip to Spain, so she wouldn't be there to help us out with the older boys or simply to be nearby in case I needed her. I ended up trying anyway, and had no regrets once I got my BFP - I knew we'd figure something out.
If your Mom's suggesting that the Christmas celebrations can be delayed, I say go for it. Also, I think babies are technically allowed to fly after their 2 week check-up, but I could be wrong on that....

February 8th, 2012, 02:15 PM
I was also going to suggest his symptoms could be related to having a fever. Sounds like a doc appointment would make sense... REally hope he feels better soon :)
Nevermind! I posted before reading the rest of the posts!! Will come back on later a catch up when I have more time!

I just seem to remember when I've booked flights about how infants under 6 weeks may not be allowed to fly. That was flights from the UK to Europe, though... so maybe I COULD go back. HOWEVER, I would HAVE to somehow organize a trip down to London to get her/his US passport AND then get the UK passport before I could. SO much to do when your babies are dual citizens. They absolutely have to enter/exit the countries on their respective passport. Sooo... I'd need at least a month to sort all of that out!
I think I will try this month. I've messed up on the diet the past two weeks, due to being so BAH HUMBUG about my lack of BFP. It's not been outrageous cheats... but have had breakfast more often than not, have had some burritos/pizza nights... but not too crazy. I've remained around 107 the past two weeks so I'm 'maintaining' right now but reverting back to the 'diet' full-one would see that number go down again... so that'd be okay, right? I've not ruined it?
If it doesn't happen this month, then I WILL wait until May. Sigh.
My mom wants me to not take vitex. But I tried to tell her you want your cycle to be a bit "off" and that this time I would use digital OPKs with regular OPKs AND temping to really pinpoint my ovulation...
At this rate, though, any baby would be born in December! Geez! :(

I'll probably be right there with you! I've also remained around the 107 mark but I have been having a pity party with food. Totally off diet, but I never eat much to begin with so mostly cheated with chocolate. My cycle is crazy. I still have an average temp of 99.5 and yesterday I had light pink mixed into cm followed by slight brown later. This has never happened to me and I've been pregnant 7 times. Everything is screaming I'm pregnant except the darn tests!!! I need to stop testing everyday and wait until the weekend. I still don't know when I O'd so again only time will tell.
Suregena, I would say to keep on keeping on......once your cycle starts keep ttc. When you get your BFP you'll be thrilled no matter what the due date. If you don't keep trying will it make you crazy wondering what if?? Call the airlines and verify the regulations for infants and pregnant women then you'll have definite answers. I'm sorry it's taking AF so long to arrive. Sometimes I feel like our bodies seem to know what we want and enjoy being cruel to us! 'I've felt betrayed many times. It sounds silly but it's exactly how I feel. Go buy the most expensive HPT's, that always makes AF come for me! Cruel I tell ya.........

I had all day nausea with my son from 6 weeks to 9 weeks. That was it. I only threw up two times, once at 7 weeks at 3am and again at 8 weeks at 6am. And it was only (tmi) bile. Nothing horrible.
I guess I better pay attention to a "super sick" symptom.
Not to mention, an online friend of mine had morning sickness similar to me with her son as well, and she's currently in her third trimester with her daughter and was VERY VERY sick with daily throwing up until into the 2nd trimester.
Maybe there is something to this... *maybe*...

pink, i know lots of ladies whos DH refuse to help with swaying.
and alot of them have been successful sways.
i have also seen ladies whos DH co-operated perfectly , and had 100% perfect sways who still ended up having the opposite gender.
its not failsafe, all you can do, is the best you can...:)
Suregena, i would get to the dr if i was you.
get some bloods done or something.
for someone whos never late, this really needs checking out.
when i had my ectopic pregnancy, i didnt get a BFP untill i was 2 weeks late, (i usually get BFPs a week before O) i tested the day after AF was due BFN, and every few days after that untill i got the BFP 2 weeks later.
ectopic pregnancies can cause really slow hCG climbs, which is why it took so long for the BFP to show up.
at 6 weeks pregnant, my hCG was at 28, at 8 weeks it was at 52, thats a doubling time of more than 2 weeks!!!
(it took them 2 weeks of tests etc before they realised i was ectopic, long story....)
anyway, not trying to freak you out, but i would really get it checked out if i was you, if it is something like that you are far better off catching it early.

Here we go again:
Suregena~ I say go for it too. I had to take off swaying for 2 months bc I was so ill, and it was absolute torture. As we all unfortunately know there's no guarentee on a quick BFP especially when ttc pink! :( If your family is willing to be flexible I would not stop ttc for sure. It all works out no matter what you do.
Mocha~ I'm so happy your scan went well. I checked in several times yesterday to see and didn't have time to post. I knew your little bub would have a strong heart beat for you to hear! Very interesting to hear about the differences in healthcare. I'm considered high risk and have scans almost every other week, by tecs and the docs. I'm sure there is positives and negatives to both systems!
Peony~ Yay for CD1 so exciting right.
LMN~ I too CANNOT wait for CD1, so excited to start my clomid for the first time!!!
Amari~ Glad you got some answers. Did you decide about the vitex and whether you would attempt this month without the clomid? I think the only way to make that decision is thinking about if you would have any regrets whatsoever.
OOTB~ I completely understand. Sometimes after an extremely busy day, I think about getting on and sometimes don't because I want to take my mind off swaying and get lost in a tv show instead. I know you will come back with a BFP, sometimes I think getting it off your mind is helpful :) will miss u for sure, but see you soon with a pic of a BFP :)

I was just seasicky with both of my boys, so I fit the pattern. But I do have a friend who was the complete opposite -- so extremely ill when pregnant with her son that she lost weight during first trimester ... and then smooth sailing when she was pregnant with her daughter. So if anyone is pg and not feeling bad, don't take that as necessarily meaning blue!

I agree. Everyone is different. In fact I had my first two in my 20's dd&ds and they were both pretty bad. I had my last 2 ds's in my late 30's and everything about the pregnancies were different. My body chemistry changed as I got older, which is great because.................tonight I got a BFP! And the thought of being as sick as I was with first dd could send me to the crazy house!!
I am very cautiously optimistic. Coming off a chemical and already having a couple of mc's behind me I can count on nothing until I see a heartbeat. I knew I was pg again because I almost threw up over the different smells in the grocery store earlier. I'm pretty scared. If any of you followed my saga with ds in children's hospital 2 weeks ago.....my attempts were crazy. Lots of Rephresh, some Replens, a little Sylk.....using a syringe because we were in the hospital. We were in isolation so pretty private but not enough to dtd. We did when we came home but dh had forgot one day of FR so I did Splime TBM. I lost 4lbs during attempt bringing weight to 105. Lived on Diet coke with A gallon of Equal in every glass. If this baby sticks and it's a boy, well he made it through a lot to get to our family!! I also had a psychic reading done the other day and she predicted a BFP either in Feb or April resulting in a girl. Do I really believe that stuff? Not really but it was still fun. I could use well wishes and prayers as I will be 41 in a couple of months and the risks to this pg are pretty big. Like I said, still not confident bean will stick but hoping and praying can't hurt!!

Thanks. I hope so because it's been pure madness! My 15 yr old dd is sick with a bacterial infection that has some similar qualities to ds's illness. I'm not sure I can take much more!!
I really hope I will be joining you in having a 2012 baby.

Amari~ Glad you got some answers. Did you decide about the vitex and whether you would attempt this month without the clomid? I think the only way to make that decision is thinking about if you would have any regrets whatsoever.
)
I started taking the Vitex yesterday. I am going to do opks just to see if I ovulate on my own but I don't think I am going to try b/c of all the food I ate b/c I was losing too much weight. I am going to start to do 60min cardio a day, though AS advised against it (sorry AS). I just think it will help with my stress, and I know that is important not only for sway but my own personal sanity. So if I do O and it just feels right then I will go for it, but most likely I will wait it out until next month. I will be surprised if I even O on my own! Now I just need to keep all this straight! Have you started your clomid yet?

Like I said, still not confident bean will stick but hoping and praying can't hurt!!
congratulations!! what a strong pink sway that is too!

 Morning ladies, just a quick check in as i have not been on for 3 days and i have missed so much. Havent got time to catch up this morning so hoping i can do that later.
Congratulations Sis40!
Its CD6 for me today and i need to check what DH shifts will be around ov to decide what kind of timing to do and also what method natural or splime.
Congrats to those who have BFP's and good luck to those making their attempts soon, i will hopefully be back on later to catch up.

HI Amari Ive just finished my first round of clomid how were your symptoms regarding ewcm did you have any around o time and what cd did you o on last time?
Also i read in Atomic posts that clomid stays in your system for 6 months after and even if you stop it will still take affect so you could still technically try this month even if your off?

Hey, sweetsister! How much and what days did you take? I didn't have any symptoms on it except the first month very strong o pains. Second month was way too confusing for me too comment! Not even sure when I o'd. The first month I o'd on cd 21. Do you have kids? I'm not a big cm person to begin with, so can't say I noticed any difference...GL!!!

I am on Clomid this month, and I had more CM than normal. Way more slippery. I even used Benedryl just in case this month. My emotions were terrible though. I hope you don't have many side effects on Clomid. I am so praying this is the one and only cycle of it for me.

Glad you made a decision on the vitex. Either way its just better to be settled about a decision so then you can relax! Why did AS say not to do 60 min cardio a day? I have read her posts saying that its the strongest sway. I decided against it because I could not commit to 6 days a week, I could to 4-5 days but that's not enough. Then I got sick and it was out of the question anyway! That was easy! Is her thinking that you don't have any weight to lose, and you will be taking it off too quick? If it helps with your stress thats a good thing and then you can up your calories (helps my stress) LOL and still stay within the limits!
So I am waiting for AF. FF says it should be here by Tuesday. My clomid will begin CD3-7. I have doc appointment Feb 21st which needs to be CD 10-14. If it ends up off I just need to shift apointment. I think AF is going to come earlier though (I hope) more like this Saturday bc I am already 11 dpo (i think its 12) FF put it there cause I temped at a earlier time that day and it didn't count it. And my average lp is 14 days, so I'm hoping its here sooner... come on AF I'm so ready for this to happen. I've been really waiting since July when I had my loss.

Thanks everyone. I'm super stressed this morning. Last night the BFP was so strong and this morning it's much less so. I also started to spot a bit of brown. It's like deja vu from last month. It's so hard getting the BFP and all the symptoms only to lose it. I'd rather have a BFN, it actually hurts less. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this isn't another chemical but not feeling very confident at this moment. I'll keep you posted. I have a Dr's appt (scheduled before) on Monday so I'm sure she'll check all my levels.

omg sis40 i can understand why your stressing, did you use the same kind of test, they all react sooooooooo differently and the same kinds can throw you off too, i know loads of people who spotted when pregnant its quite common, try not to worry just take it easy, can you not see a doc before monday ?

I did use the same tests. This morning I went out and bought FRER, the line is there but faint. I only usually spot when I 'm losing a pregnancy. I also feel very odd. I have all the early pg symptoms but I'm also super shaky. I can't even explain it. I just don't feel well.

I'm not eating much. Only still on baby aspirin and folic acid. Weight is 107 and I'm 5'7". My temp is still up, I've been 99.0 or above for over 10 days. Today 99.5. Not spotting right now but still a bit crampy which can go either way.
