Come one, come all, to report the outcome of your 2020 sway!

I must issue my standard disclaimer - do NOT use these results as a predictor of the effectiveness of swaying. They're not scientifically compiled and are a small sample size. Please use only the complete stats thread here:https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-girl/51473-complete-pink-swaying-statistics-spreadsheet-info-links-enter-your-sway.html

Don't know if this is the place. But we swayt for a girl. But I sadly misccarried a boy. I feel I had a fairly strong sway, but I was pregnant way to soon. So I did not sway long enough.

Thanks for updating us - but I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Hi Atomic! So I’ve noticed that this year it’s seemed like there were a lot of successful girl sways through the first half of the year, and then a lot more opposites have been reported as we’ve gotten into the second half of the year. I was curious whether this is a trend you’ve seen other years, and whether you think it has anything to do with conceiving in the spring (in the Northern hemisphere at least ) already slightly swaying toward girls. Thoughts?

No, because most of the people who found out gender in the early months actually got pregnant in Sept-Nov. which in many cases are the BOY friendly months in the Northern Hemi. Plus, a good many of our swayers are in the Southern Hemisphere and their seasons are reversed. There's no way to draw any conclusions here since we have people from all around the world, including equatorial countries for whom the seasons do not apply anyway.

There are NOT a lot of opposites. There are a lot of opposites in one of the due date groups. That is not indicative of the site as a whole. It simply tricks the people in the due date group into thinking there are massive numbers of opposites when there really aren't.

I just ran the percentage on the sways this year and I got 76%. Even if I add in the person who got a Sneak Peek opposite reading (which are completely unreliable) that is 74%. The overall site as a whole including all results from the beginning is at 70%, so we are actually higher with this year's results than would be expected.

(that having been said, please go in being conservative and expecting no better than 66% chances as that seems to be our baseline even in "bad" years - about 2/3 getting their desired gender with swaying. This is not disappointing, because you're likely going from 2/3 likely to conceive another boy/girl to 2/3 likely to conceive your desired gender. That's a huge sway and if you cannot accept a reasonable success rate and think you need some sort of 100% guarantee, that is NOT what swaying can offer and you need to investigate high tech methods.)

As always, if you are not listed here and you think you should be please let me know. Sometimes people don't want to bother me, or they think I hear through the grapevine, but I don't. I try to keep these threads as current as possible but I sometimes forget to add a name or think I added PinkPrincess 210 when it was actually PinkyPrincess211 or something like that. But we want our results as accurate as possible so any help in that regard is welcome.

Oh yeah—I didn’t mean that there had been more opposites than usual or even that the stats aren’t great this year (even a super conservative 60% chance seems pretty great to me!). I was more just curious because I’d visited this page a couple times through the spring into summer, and the stats were crazy high. Now it seems like they’re more representative of the rest of the site, and I was curious about whether that was random luck or because of seasons or something else entirely, and if you see that pattern from year to year. I’m still mid sway, so you haven’t missed me! Hoping to TTC in December, but I’ll certainly report whether we’re successful or no!

Every time the stats go "too" high like that I get very nervous because I worry it tricks people into expecting success rates beyond what we would normally see.

At the start of the year, all it takes is a little good luck (because so few people have responded) to make normal results look very high. Like, if we only have 10 people reporting, and 8 of them got girls it looks overwhelmingly pink because so few people have responded. As more people reply, the opposites do come along. That's why I trust the numbers of the whole site more than anything else - the bigger the sample size, the less likely we can have a run on any one gender.

Ladies, we are STILL getting updates from 2020 sways, if this is you, please let us know the outcome. It's never too late - some people hesitate to let me know if they swayed a couple years ago, but we will always add new info to these lists whenever it comes in! Success or opposite, we want EVERY outcome.
