Hello!!
I was active on this forum in 2014 swaying for a girl after 2 boys. My sway is now the sweetest, most adorable 5 year old boy. He also has a baby brother who was the sweetest surprise baby. So I’m a proud mama to 4 boys! We tried to adopt from foster care and had a very traumatic experience, so we are planning to pray and sway and if we get boy #5, I will have peace that it’s God’s will.

I have recently found the baby dust method and have questioned it because there are a lot (a whole lot) of failed sways in the Facebook group. All of my boys were conceived with 1 attempt at positive opk even after abstaining (even #4 - took an opk after dtd and it was positive).
My “plan” is to track cycles with opks and attempt in August or September. I am taking vitex for extremely irregular cycles, COQ-10 for egg quality (I am an egg donor and am unsure if it has affected my fertility), and folate for healthy pregnancy. I have decided I don’t want to do other supplements. I also take iron because I’m severely anemic.

I would like to try a modified diet, with no red meat or sugar, exercise (cardio-beachbody), with having my husband release every couple of days before ovulation with only one actual attempt. He is 37 and I am now nearly 32. My husband is now diabetic and takes metformin and eats keto. I eat mostly keto also (when not quarantined). One question I have is: replens yes or no? Any other advice?

Hi again!!! Huge congrats on your 4 boys!

I have been hearing that about Babydust Method, and more concerning is that many people have shown up here after trying Babydust and not conceiving for a year or more. Since the book has only been out a couple years I have grave concerns that it's preventing people from conceiving (and we put a premium on getting pregnant fast around here.)

We have had TERRIBLE results with vitex. So bad that I have had to conclude it could even be swaying blue for some people. Do you feel like you could possibly have PCOS or tendencies that way?? We've changed up some stuff with diet for people with PCO-tendencies and the diet we use for them has gotten amazing results. In fact I now recommend it for anyone who has a failed sway under their belt. Avoiding sugar is 100% a part of that diet as is using whole grains rather than white, refined grain (which will help enormously with egg quality) and using full fat dairy only, NO SKIM. So if you wanted to additionally make those changes to your modified diet I think it could really help. I would rather see you use myoinositol rather than vitex if diet and exercise is not controlling your irregular cycle.

I use coq10 for a lot of pink swayers with good results. :agree:

Please keep taking the iron. It has not seemed to be a strong swayer and I've given it to lots of people having successful sways.

Everything else is spot on exactly what I would recommend!!

We have not gotten good results with the jellies like replens. Unless you're a huge believer in pH I would give it a miss, or you could start off using it and then drop it if you don't conceive after a month or two. The risk is that you don't get pregnant and then start getting nervous and end up adding attempts, so we like to err on the side of getting you pregnant sooner rather than later. :)

It’s so good to “talk” to you again!! I was using vitex to regulate my cycles and balance my hormones and so far I’ve been super happy with the results- I was having 40-60 day cycles and now they’re like clockwork every 30 days. I don’t have PCOS or any tendencies- I’ve been a very successful egg donor to a fertility clinic. Would myoinositol do the same thing as far as regulating my cycles? I’m more than happy to drop vitex I just need help with the hormone balance.

What do you mean about whole grains? They’re good for girl sways? I’m not any sort of believer in Ph it’s just something I haven’t done before. I think one attempt is good but the difference between my other babies would be not abstaining- I would be with my dh in non-vaginal ways I’m thinking about twice before our unprotected attempt. Thoughts??

Thanks so much for your reply. I appreciate it and am encouraged to see that swaying has changed and develop since my last time here!

That’s what we did for our girl sways. I had hubby release on his own a few times during the week leading up to our one attempt. 3/4 of our boys hubby abstained.

Thank you for your reply! Did you get your daughter?

Atomic, what about pregnitude? Would that regulate my cycles and sway girl? I ordered myo inositol this morning but which is better? Also, thoughts on metformin if I do not have PCOS? My husband is on it.

Up to 75% of all women will develop PCOS if their lifestyle supported it strongly enough (being overweight, not exercising, eating high amounts of refined carbs). So it's entirely possible you may have some tendencies that way and the fertiity clinic didn't detect it because your lifestyle supported your fertility. The fact that your cycle improved on Vitex makes me think you do have some tendencies that direction. Additionally, PCOSers often do well with IVF because they can produce a lot of eggs, so again that's not outside the realm of having PCO-tendencies.

I can't totally say if myoinositol will have the same results for you as vitex but what I do know is this - vitex has gotten only 54% (with 141 people responding) and many many others started taking it but had to drop it because they couldn't get pregnant on it. And myoinositol is sitting at a whopping 94% right now (17 of 18 people who took it got girls - it's a small sample size, but when I see results like that I am going to suggest it for anyone it is appropriate for - like those with longer cycles!) Our overall success rate is 70% so the vitex has extremely low results.

For anyone with PCO-tendencies the whole grains have been much better than white refined ones. I would honestly have everyone switch over to the whole grains but many people lose too much weight on them and others can't stick with the diet if they eat only whole grains and no sugar. But for you I would def. give them priority over white grains, sugar, and avoid skim dairy to the best of your ability!

Abstain hasn't worked anyway and I am always happy to see people giving it up.

It's my pleasure, I want to help however I can!

That all makes a lot of sense to me! My cycles have never been regular in my entire life until I started taking vitex. Per your advice, I started weaning off it today (took 1 capsule instead of 2) and ordered the myo.
I remember with my last GD sway in 2014 I ate a lot of white carbs. So whole wheat breads, whole grain pasta, etc would be better this time? I am typically not a dairy consumer much at all but have started drinking whole milk and eating full fat yogurt.

Would you recommend e4d or a few releases before one attempt for us?

What do you think of pregnitude or metformin? My husband is on metformin.

Would you mind sharing the link to the LE for PCOS diet? I can’t find it.

I’m feeling hopeful this time [emoji1317][emoji1317]

Pregnitude IS myoinositol. Either is fine, it's just a brand name of myo mixed with folic acid.

I woudn't do the metformin without a diagnosis of PCOS unless you have more than 50 lbs to lose.

Oh cool! Is either one better than the other? Thank you!! I definitely don’t have 50 lbs to lose. I’m a size 6 but could lose 10-15 lbs without trouble.

Yes in 2014 we just didn't have this all figured out, I wish I did!

Whole grain everything if you can stand it. If you absolutely can't (for example whole grain pasta is pretty ucky) then have white pasta and whole grain bread, or smaller amounts white rice if you can't do brown. It's the white flour that seems to be the worst, and for reasons we don't really understand pasta and white rice are better tolerated. But if you can give them all up, even better.

The PCOS-type diets are here: https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html not the first few posts, scroll down a few.

I’ve been eating keto for about a year so really very little pasta and bread- I can definitely do whole grain especially if it helps me get my daughter! No complaints here!

The only difference is that Pregnitude has some folic acid in it and regular myoinositol doesn't.

[emoji175][emoji175] I didn’t exercise during my last sway either so I’m hoping that this form of LE plus exercise will really help!

I’m glad to hear there are at least a few mamas like me! We all pray for a little sister (I’m hoping for twins) every day.
