I have a very special app for tracking - it's called "paper and pen".
The apps are a)very time consuming to use, b)not very reliable at all, particulrly for sodium and potassium c) track some things we don't track, like protein and fat in fruits and veg, and the calories in low carb veg, and d)can contribute to that sort of control freak mindset that can undermine sways. I know a lot of people use and like them, but I actually find that a good old notebook is quicker, less control freakish, and gives you a better sense of whether you're sticking in the diet or not. You only need to track for a few weeks and then once you have the hang of it, you can stop and just keep eating the same amount (being careful not to start cutting back more and more over time)

Ok that makes sense- I think getting enough calories would be what I would focus on- I already eat about 1500 a day...hardly ever more than that.

Sorry to butt into your post -- I just wanted to say hi, future swaying buddy! :D I too am going to start LE diet + exercise on May 1st!! Then we will start actively TTC (with one attempt at +OPK) with my first cycle in August. Fingers crossed for a spring 2021 baby!
As for tracking, I am going to do paper and pen as well. I did download the MFP app but, my problem is, if it's on my phone, I know I won't be able to stop myself from checking it constantly... I want to eliminate that control freakish ability of micromanaging it with the app. My thinking is, with paper and pen, I can just write it down and put it out of my mind. I might get a pretty notebook on my next grocery run because we have virtually NO loose paper in this house... we use phone notepad apps instead, but I need to remove the immediate access aspect of it, so I need the paper! Argh! lol

Hi buddy!! We will be swaying twins- I’m also hoping to attempt in August! I still need guidance about the actual sex part as I have 4 boys all conceived one attempt after abstain at positive opk!
I relied on the app to calculate things for me, that’s all that makes me nervous about pen and paper.

I'm going to just make three columns for cals, fat, and protein, with limits at the top, and write down as I go; then that way I'll have a visual at the top of the column and can kind of eye where I'm at for the day.
As for the one attempt part -- were you swaying girl with any of them? From what I understand, you can still get opposites IN SPITE OF something you did, rather than BECAUSE OF it. As in, if the rest of your lifestyle (diet, exercise) was boy friendly, it could have kind of overridden the one attempt? For example coffee is recommended for girl sways, and I've literally been guzzling down 32oz+ of coffee DAILY since before I ever even thought about having kids, yet I still have two boys. But everything else in my lifestyle (namely diet and exercise) were hugely boy swaying. (Including # of attempts, I think we had 5 attempts in the three days leading up to O day, for both kids, lol!) I've been reading through this site since December ish and from what I've gathered, abstain/FR isn't really necessary anymore? I think some of them even had worse results maybe... I am not going to worry about that either way, just going to focus on the LE diet + exercise along with the one attempt (without abstain or FR), as that combo is what is getting the best results now, I believe. :) (And someone please correct me if I'm wrong lol!)

Are you planning on doing E4D? I’m confused about if my hubby will have to release every day for 7 days (which I don’t think he could physically do), or just e4d with one attempt? I need clarity on that but we won’t attempt before August.
And yes I agree with you that a lot of my lifestyle swayed boy. I did a gender dreaming sway with my 3rd son, but I did not exercise. I ate a lot of sugar and we abstained before our one attempt. Boy #4 was a pure accidental pregnancy- but I was extremely stressed and again one attempt after abstain and I ate a burger right before.
I have been eating keto so that switch will be different and I’m going to do LE for PCOS as I do have some tendencies. No sugar, no red meat, if I eat meat at all. I’m going to be taking myoinositol and folate. My husband is doing some things different too- he is exercising (bike at the gym) and he is on metformin for diabetes.

I am going to share one of atomic’s posts about frequency (or try to, anyway!). I have this one saved in my phone in my swaying album and it’s what I based my frequency/one attempt decision off of. We are going to just have unprotected sex the one time on the day of my first +OPK, and let any other times we have sex just fall when they do, and have them be protected. [emoji1303] If I don’t get pregnant by October then we will prob switch to E4D!
(Here’s the post, if it doesn’t work/I didn’t link correctly, search for the thread “the trouble with timing” and look for post #63 in the thread, which is atomic’s post I’m referring to!)

Thank you! This is what I wanted to do- only one unprotected attempt-I was just really confused about how many protected attempts there could be- it seemed I could only find every single day or every 4 days. But I guess if we are sleeping together like normal and just let one be unprotected, then that’s fine too...correct?

If you're already eating fairly low cals then carry on doing just that! The thing I have to guard against with people and their calorie tracking is when people go from, say, 2500 to 1200 and then are stunned when they stop ovulating!! But if you are in the group that's used to eating fewer cals, your metabolism is already used to that, etc then keep eating less.

Most of my calories are from protein though (I eat a lot of meat and eggs). I tracked for about a month last year out of curiosity and never made it past 1500- it’s just trading out the high protein/low carb for the opposite- right? Also I haven’t done well with sugar recently so I will go back to no sugar. Is aspartame a thing for girl sways anymore?

No I wouldn't say you're just trading out for high carb, low protein. More that you're reducing intake of various things (protein, fat chief among them, calories if you need to reduce calories to lose weight)
Many people, believe it or not, actually end up eating LOWER carbs on LE than what they were eating on their normal diets. For example a person who normally eats 2000 cals a day (and many of us with all boys eat more in the range of 2500-even 3000 depending on height and metabolism) might be eating as much as 225-350 grams of carbs a day (according to the Mayo Clinic). Reducing calories to 1500 while being sure you're eating 45 g protein and 45 g fat means about 225 g of carbs total. So people who were eating 350 g carbs daily before they started dieting can end up eating FEWER carbs on LE even if the percentage of protein to carbs decreases if that makes any sense.
And on the alternate diet, people are going to be eating even fewer carbs, because there's more emphasis on whole grains, fruit, and veg (the high fiber means less usable grams of carbs) and the macros are different. 1500 cals, 55 g protein and fat means they're getting 197 g carbs, which is lower than the average person eats on a 2000 cal diet (plus many of those carbs are less usable due to the fiber)
So, that was a lot of explanation but I just want you to understand the solution is not necessarily to up carbs through the roof here, particularly if you were doing well on a keto diet. Not everyone is eating more carbs!
Aspartame hasn't worked and I've noticed a pretty strong trend on Ingender where the people doing the totally insane level of aspartame intake have seemed to get more boys (admittedly I have not crunched the numbers on this, but it has sure seemed that way to me - at the very least it's not much of a sway tactic that's for sure) I have even speculated about it possibly swaying blue https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/44710-hypothetical-aspartame-thread.html I got my girl without aspartame after my boy with aspartame.

Thank you for taking the time to explain- that makes more sense and I was definitely thinking it would be more like a carb overload. So I need to set my goal of 45g of protein and 45g of fat in one day with calories max 1500? And low carb veggies are fine and don’t count? How does that not sway boy?
My GD sway boy was conceived on loads of aspartame so if it’s not important I’m glad to avoid it- I got so many headaches!!

No I suggest you set your limits at 50-60 g protein and fat and 1500-1800 cals. I was using a very generic set of numbers to illustrate the principle (since it gets awfully confusing if I give a range and then I'm throwing a bunch of math at you guys) On the alternate diet which I want you on, it's 50-60 g protein and fat (or like I mentioned before, possibly even more for you if you need it since you were just on keto)
Low carb veggies are free and unlimited, you can have as much as you want, no need to count them. High carb veg (including potatoes and sweet potatoes) cound calories only, no protein or fat.
The reason this doesn't sway blue is because while we originally started off thinking that nutrients of all sorts swayed blue, over time we've found that it's mostly protein, fat, calories, and then supplemental amounts like in vitamins and highly fortified foods. The micronutrients in broccoli, for example, do not seem to affect a sway negatively, and you'd have to eat a literal MOUNTAIN of broccoli before you'd get the amount of nutrients in a burger and fries and a chocolate shake. And eating the veg helps you avoid things like high amounts of rice/bread which can raise your blood sugar and also have a lot of nutrients. People were avoiding broccoli and eating 10 pieces of bread a day - but you get way more cals, protein and fat from the bread, if you see what I'm saying.
We have great results on this alternate diet with people eating fruits and veg.
Yes with my 4th boy I was having terrible headaches and my mouth actually tasted like aspartame, it was disgusting! But he was still a bouncing boy! Hey, if you have a chance please feel free to add that experience to that thread I linked to above! I tell people "I saw people getting boys on aspartame" but it carries more weight coming from you guys!
