Hi Atomic [emoji112]
So this will be my 5th month of TTC and wanted to know what I can add in to help odds of conception without totally screwing up my pink sway.
I’m doing e4d (72 hours this month and last month), fibre, LE diet, cardio 2-3 times a week plus 2-3 12 hour shifts on my feet and almond milk. I’m also incorporating more fat and nuts into my diet and taking 1200mcg Folic acid. My sleep is a bit rubbish but jt always has been tbh! I can’t get any Clomid unfortunately as I don’t have a healthcare professional to monitor me and don’t want to end up with OHSS or something similar.
TIA!!! [emoji178][emoji178][emoji178]

The other thing I wanted to ask was about soy isoflavones in place of clomid, what results have you had with hmthem and what dose and when should I take them in my cycle??
Thanks again [emoji120]

Are you doing anything like frequency, jelly, douching, antihistamine or other supplements, having hubby wear tight underwear, and especially, especially shallow release?? - anything that could physically cut down on odds of conception??
Soy isoflavones have not worked for a whole lot of people who took them, really messing up some people's cycles. If you're ovulating normally I'd not recommend them for you.
Are you ready to go to e4d plus one more attempt at pos OPK or should we try changing up some other things first?
Just to be absolutely certain are you starting the e4d after your period ends and going all the way past when you think you've ovulated??

Hiya, thanks for getting back to me [emoji3526]
The only physical thing that could potentially be an issue is DH is jogging 3-4 times a week, otherwise he’s keeping the jewels pretty on a pretty even keel! He releases in-between BD in his own time when the mood takes him, I don’t really keep track.
We mix up BD positions and have been doing e4d basically from AF to AF.
I’m on levothyroxine and have recently been a bit hyperthyroid so they’ve adjusted my meds. Could that affect anything, I’ve only ever heard of problems being hypothyroid?? I did wonder if it was shortening my LP a bit [emoji848]
If there’s anything else I can do/add in before adding an attempt I’m happy to try it unless you think otherwise??
Your thoughts and insights are incredible, thank you so so much for all your help [emoji178]

GAH then please absolutely do not under any circumstances do the soy iso. Soy can interact with thyroid medicine.
Yes being off on the thyroid medication in any direction can mess with ovulation. I'm glad they've adjusted your levels!!
If hubby is willing let's try dropping the additional releases.
I would have you add in female orgasm now and spend 30 minutes laying down after intercourse, spending half that time on your tummy (I may have already said this).
Do you have EWCM that you have seen?

Haha, phew, thank goodness I mentioned the thyroid stuff and didn’t waste any cash on them [emoji23]
Super, yep I’m sure I can talk him into just concentrating on our attempts.
I start off with about a day of watery CM then EWCM for about 5 days then a textbook change to creamy after I’ve ovulated. With my daughter I used come conceive plus too just to help but I’ve not used anything this time.
Yay for the big O [emoji3060][emoji322][emoji3060] That’s made my day, haha!!! I might add some headstands in there after just for luck too, why not?! [emoji6]

:agree: ok since you're having EWCM let's just leave it with Big O and headstands LOL and not add in anything beyond that for now!

Ok so I BD this morning at about 5:30am as per e4d and just because I had some I did an OPK test this evening and it was most definitely positive [emoji736]
The question is, do you reckon my previous attempts plus my next one in 2 days will be enough for conception but also sway pink?? [emoji178][emoji178][emoji178][emoji178][emoji178]
Just to add, I’m also still bf my 3 year old off and on (more during lockdown, comfort and down time for both of us!!)
I’m also having a decent amount of coffee, delaying breakfast, having 1-2 cans Monster energy drinks per week & ultimately praying every night for my beautiful pink bundle of joy [emoji177]

Well, I can't tell you in advance if it was enough for conception since some months just aren't THE month, but that is the pattern I want you to do for your sway, yes. I would not add another attempt unless you're ready to go a bit more blue friendly to boost chances of conception.
Can I ask why you're doing Monster?

June 18th, 2020, 12:21 AM
It is a question I get asked a lot [emoji85] It’s just the only thing that seems to get me through the hump of a 12.5 shift. I can definitely cut it out though if it’s affecting everything, I’ll just have to plough through it!
Fab, thank you for your great advice as always...I’m not ready to risk blue just yet so I’ll keep as is and keep BD’ing until I’m certain I’m way past O then just more for fun. Hahaha, what a novelty [emoji4]
Hubby has agreed not to release on his own at all now, he’s very on board so he’s happy to ‘save it all for me’ so to speak [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

The Monster has a lot of vitamins in it. Since it's a necessity I don't think it's a big deal if you need to continue with that, I just didn't want you doing it assuming it swayed pink or anything.
Everything else looking great!

Hi Atomic,
I’m so gutted.
I feel like this month was pretty much the perfect sway but my BBT dropped significantly this morning so I think AF is just round the corner... [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]
I know that our chances of conception are only so much per month anyway but I really thought this was my month [emoji17]
Anyway, my main concern is that my LP over the past 2 months has been 9-10 days where I’ve always been 13-14 days before. I’m trying to find someone to prescribe cyclogest/progesterone from O to lengthen the LP but failing that, I’ve heard vitamin C and B6 can help. Have you much experience with this?
Should I add in/drop anything else like full fat milk, omega 3 or anything??
So gutted.
Thanks so much again [emoji178]

Yes, I have a lot of experience with short LP. Please try not to worry as 10 days is plenty and 9 days is enough. Sorry if you already told me this but I just need to make sure - how are you determining ovulation?
Please do not take Vitamin C or B6. B6 especially is quite blue friendly and has actually messed up by far more cycles than it fixed. And please, please I beg, do NOT NOT NOT take any herbal remedies claimed to "fix short LP". Those are like throwing gasoline on a fire.
Progesterone supplementation is falling out of favor as very reliable studies are showing it doesn't help anyone get or stay pregnant. I don't think it sways blue or anything, just that it isn't necessary.
Drop fiber if you were taking it and add in a serving of full fat dairy every day, 4-6 eggs a week, 1 serving salmon if you like it, red meat if you don't.
Can you give me a brief estimate of how much fat and how many calories you're eating daily, your BMI, and how much weight you have lost if anything

Oh and BTW since you've been having the Monsters it is highly unlikely you are low in any B vitamins anyway as those things are chock full of them. PLEASE NO B6

Hi Atomic,
Apologies for the late reply.
So I’m tracking my temperatures to retrospectively see when I’ve ovulated plus OPKs (bit not religiously). I’m looking to do a progesterone level post ovulation next month just to check my levels.
I’m having about 1800-1900 calories a day and closer to about 65g fat a day as I’m still breastfeeding (3 year old) 1-2 times a day.
My BMI is about 18.3 at the mo, I dropped a bit recently but am on the up now.
I’m happy to have red meat once a week, bring on the steak!
FYI, turns out my LP was 11 days thIs month [emoji3060]

11 days is long enough to get pregnant but still do add in the meat and keep at that upper level of cal intake.
Keep me posted and let me know if you need anything else!

Hi Atomic, I really need your guidance right now... [emoji120]
So I don’t usually ovulate until CD 16/17 so we didn’t strictly e4d before what I thought was my fertile window. We BD on day 10 & 11 with dry or creamy CM and then again on CD 13 with EWCM which I presumed was the start of my window as no EWCM before and no +OPK. But then I get a temperature shift on CD14 and they haven’t gone down [emoji2370]
Still no +OPKs but still been having cramping and EWCM, it’s completely baffling me! Could you shed any light on this please?!
If I did ovulate on CD13 how in the blue zone was my BD pattern considering I had no fertile CM?? I know 3 attempts is fairly awful but just wondered how awful looking at all my symptoms [emoji2358]
Could something else have caused my temperature to shift?
It’s so weird!
Thanks you as always, you’re amazing!!! [emoji177][emoji177][emoji177]
PS. Update: I’m now back to creamy CM today (CD 17) WTF is going on?!?! [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji2962][emoji2962][emoji2962][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24] Lol!

This is why we need you to start that e4d sooner, because this happens to people all the time.
But the good news is, that BD pattern was fine, because the BD on CD 10 for sure, and likely 11 as well, was too early. Not only would the sperm never have made it to CD 14, but the environment without any CM would have been so hostile the sperm would have died.
That having been said I am not sure you even ovulated though. Since you're still ahving cramping and EWCM my recommendation is for you to continue with the e4d pattern for now so you're covered either way.
We often have a temp patter where there is a rise, and then another rise, and then sometimes still another rise, and people only ovulate with the 2nd or 3rd rise. So just because your temps have gone up it doesn't necessarily mean you've ovulated (even if you get crosshairs). Be prepared to continue BD!

Oh phew! Thank goodness!
It’s just so typical that it may have been early this month [emoji85][emoji85][emoji85]
I’ve had some more EWCM today so I am gonna get on it and do e4d all the way to AF! And if this isn’t our month it’ll be e4d all the way through with no exceptions!!!
I agree that it may not have occurred yet as I still ‘feel’ fertile so I’m cautiously optimistic [emoji178]
But if I have already ovulated I’m happier that the attempt CD10 was a bit obsolete due to lack of CM.
What will be will be but at east I feel a bit happier now!
What else can cause temp rises that you know of??
[emoji16]

The temp rises are just due to varying levels of hormones. There's no cause per se, it's just that some months people see a stairstep rise with a rise then plateau, then another rise and they don't ovulate with the first rise.

Hiya, just an update for you and of course a request to pick your brain...
So, still no baby unfortunately [emoji17] but my LP increased to 13 days so I’m feeling more positive.
Can Raspberry leaf tea help at all? I know yin don’t usually recommend any type of tea but I thought I’d read somewhere that it can be used in certain circumstances?
I’m also taking Cefalexin antibiotics for a renal infection, can this adversely affect CM??
Thanks AS!!! [emoji8]

I basically use that when I have someone who is feeling so frustrated that I feel they are about to give up and they need to feel like they're changing something. I honestly don't think it helps anyone get pregnant and may sway blue. You're welcome to try it but I don't think it's truly beneficial.
According to the best data I could find Cefalehexin is ok to use when TTC and it shouldn't affect your ability to conceive negatively.

Cheers for the info!
I’m wondering if it’s now time to consider e4d plus attempt at +OPK?? [emoji848]
In a sense I’m taking it as positive I’ve not conceived yet so to hopefully avoid Covid issues at the hospital.

Ok tell me what you did this last month just to be on the safe side. (not diet and exercise, the other stuff)
itsallaboutthepink
August 11th, 2020, 02:54 PM
No probs...
I’m doing e4d (72 hours), 1200mg folic acid, hubby runs and is taking 750mg OLE and is eating considerably less meat. He’s also lost a lot of weight since January but is still in the slightly overweight category.
Last month there was no j&d and a few female O’s thrown in there.
Is there anything else you need to know??
It’s never taken me this long to get pregnant so it’s beginning to take its toll a bit. I think I’ve mentioned before that I’ve had some health issues this year so perhaps it’s just taking time to allow my body to heal a bit.
This whole process is making me realise that despite how long it’s taking, I’m glad I feel like I’m giving it my best shot, so if I do end up with my opposite DG at least I’ll have my baby and know I tried my best [emoji175][emoji170][emoji175][emoji170][emoji175]

Let's have him wean off OLE. I doubt it's having a negative effect, but I don't think it's doing anything beneficial really.
How much is he running?? Running can be very hard on the sperm so we may want to cut it back.
You aren't doing shallow release, right? (I'm sure I already asked you but i have had SOO many people end up where shallow release was the issue)
You're starting the e4d after your period ends and continuing on till after you are sure you've ovulated right?? Not just having a couple attempts in the fertile window?
How many months have we done the e4d?
itsallaboutthepink
August 12th, 2020, 03:32 AM
I did wonder about the running. He runs or cross-trains maybe 3-4 times a week for 40mins-hour. He’s on a massive weight-loss kick so I don’t think that will go down well [emoji85] But for the sake of a month or 2 he will have to suck it up, haha!
No, definitely no shallow release and this will be month 4 of e4d from a few days after AF finishes usually past ovulation (well into when CM changes).
I feel like I’m doing all the right things but it’s just not happening. I had my hormone levels all checked last month and they are all in the perfect range too, so I know things are working as they should [emoji2370]
Thank you thank you so much again, you are a marvellous source of advice and reassurance!!! [emoji8]

If he's not willing to make any changes then just add in another attempt at positive OPK.
