Edwards syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 18th chromosome. It is the second most common autosomal trisomy, after Down syndrome, that carries to term.

Edwards syndrome is caused by the presence of three – as opposed to two – copies of chromosome 18 in a fetus's or infant's cells. Edwards' syndrome occurs in around one in 6,000 live births and around 80 per cent of those affected are female. The majority of fetuses with the syndrome die before birth. The syndrome has a very low rate of survival, resulting from heart abnormalities, kidney malformations, and other internal organ disorders.

So glad she didn't make it past a 4 cell embryo!

I think there are a number of people that fall pregnant, and never find out the embryo has this, as it only lives for days and the lady get her AF and thinks she didnt fall that month, when really she did. The plus or down down side of HT, as you know it happened.

Oh the joys of CM....it is so confusing! I've had it on and off in all types and colors since ovulating. Which I usually have none. I don't want to read too much into it but I did take a mental note about it.

I'm 8dpo and had crazy dreams last night that I took several tests (to be sure) and that they were all BFP's....so I retardedly took one this morning thinking the dreams might be a "sign" and it was a BFN, of course. Not surprised. AF is due tomorrow and I have had backaches on and off for awhile. :( Booo.

toomanyboys~ I say you tell DH you'll find a new donor next time! ;) LOL You still have a chance with the cut off!!! GL!

there are confliciting ideas about cm and also that cm is not a good indicator of PG. i can go by cm as for quite some time now i don't have any cm after O. i do also remember i have more when i am pg esp if it is before AF. it depends on person to person. if having no cm is the norm for you and suddenly you find yourelf to have lota after O then it is most definately a good sign for early PG. also if it is snot like beofre O and too thick thats not good but if it snot like and runny thn it is....so it all depends.....

so far my symptoms at3dpo i have sudenly developed a headahce today amd feeling a bit giddy but it may be becasue i am still depressed about missing BD when i needed it...so my mood is right down..///feel quite miserable really..i am still wet down there and i checked my cp and it is soft and slightly open....cm is slightly runny and creamy. my boobs are tender and hurting....still have light twinges and pinching now and again in my uterus area....

here is a quesrtio..if sprm are in your tubes alrady waiting and you end up BD on O day...say the egg has been released...which sperm get to the egg when it is said that sperm does not eneter the uterus immediately as it stays at the mouth of it....then they swim in. which sperm then would make it to th egg?


Ya for me this cm after o isnt normal,iusually have none,and ive also had tons of cramping so much that i thought af was coming but 3 days still cramping no af :) so im feeling different this round..

And imo the sperm there waiting get to the egg first as it takes time to travel to the egg up the crypts:)

HAhaha my sway goes like this , and this is my last resort as ive been swaying for nearly 8 -9 months now so ive cut everything but the LE diet this time and first time taking clomid my lp was only at 6 days so at least now im 7dpo which is good,anyways my sway goes dtd everyday from cd9 until cd17 and everytime i lay 15min after once i fell asleep:) I oed on cd16 according to FF as well.

3po lots of dull pains and aches...i so wish this meant something...unusual to last month when i felt NOTHING after O. i have started pro gest progestrone cream since monday....and rubbed some on my boobs...my boobs look like they are going to burst out my bra...
so i am not sure what is going on.....so so praying that the old sperm made it!!!!then my 150mg attempt will not have been in vain.:(

well i am actually 3dpo today (O'd sometime monday evening or early tuesday)...having tingled boobs....but what i am surprised about is that i have that feeling you have when your 3 months gone and your body is beginning to strech in the uterus area....like i have this pulling streching sensation on my sides and i also had very strong AF type cramps today....i am not sure what that is all about...but i suppose taking the progestrone might be the cause of that.......i am convinced that in reality i am out since i didnt BD around O instead had a 3-4 day cut off.....i had very strong significant pains O pains this month probably maybe the best may have ended up with multiples maybe as i was so so sore on O day and at 1dpo.

i think it will be a miracle if i am pregnant this month..but i wish everyone more positive thoughts for their attempt......god be with you.....and Fx for everyone in the 2ww!!!!

I was really sore the entire day after my o pains too, toomanyboys. Ouch. I still think you have a good chance!

I'm 9dpo now and had a bfn...shocker. AF was due today and possibly tomorrow and nothing yet. We shall see. I won't seriously wonder unless AF still hasn't shown by Sunday (this being Thurs morning where I am). And my boobs are a bit sore on and off since yesterday but I attribute that to nursing issues.

I can't imagine how many pregnant-like symptoms the clomid is giving you, toomanyboys!

but 9dpo is really early to have AF no? i would have thought you would need to wait another 5 days before you have an af to give you a healthy lutheal phase. but if this is the norm for you fivebabies....then maybe some good news coming your way?

i have really strechy feeling on my sides...i have this kind of strechin feeling and on and off dull af pains and aches. at lunch today they were really strong like i would just about start my period. normally i have them like that and then have a flow soon after. then i use a hot water bottle to get rid of that uncomfortable feeling dull aching feeling like early labour cramps.

i hate the idea that this is all due to the clomid or progestrone or/and pre af symptoms .........but it probably is.....i could have not O sunday or earlir becasue i had my surge sunday afternoon. i may not even have O's early monday it could have been late monday...so this makes my cut off like 3-6 days almost.....

i will have to say i should be so lucky...good luck everyone....

I have 25 day cycles and O was late this month. I totally agree that my LP is too short but I concieved my last baby the in the same situation. I'm not counting on being pregnant. I think I'm getting too old and my hormones are taking over and am not sure that I'll have another one at all. And the more I read about taking B6 to lengthen my LP the more I find that it doesn't really do much. :(

how old are you fivebabies if you dont mind me asking...i am 37 going to turn 38 in july. the momnet i turned 36 my fertility has taken a nosedive....and i used to laugh and assume it was just some sad survey that made the issues with infertility greater from 35. i used to think nahh thatwould never happen to me i will stay fertile right into my 40's cause i feel young and energetic..little did i know..at 34 my hair was shining, my skin was glowing, i hardly noticed any lines on my face and BAMM at 36 its like somone turned a light switch off.....it all went down from the i came off the pill i just fell apart....i thought coming of BC esp with my history (conceived DS1 on BC) i would just fall pregnant so made sure i had long cut offs and tried the odd O+12 wheever possible. then it never happned instead i aged fast forward...that is when i thought i was perimenapausal.....
the pill was actually controlling my PCO all this tme i went off it for too long and it became symptomatic.
i was so delighteed to know that i wasn't and i had still a good egg reseve but..but insitead i had PCO ...with me it explains alot of my bleedings duirng pg and also my MC's.....

but the bottom line of this ramble is this will be my last child if i ever conceive it...hubby and i rowed because he has on and off days regarding having another baby..he was acting all doubtful basically he has cold feet when he ealized i wa O....hate telling him takes all the fun out of BD in my case......but like you time is not on my side i find and the more i put it off the more i find it will get hardr..plus i dont want my youngest to be too old to bond with the baby.

so yes now i am beginnign to think it may never happen i cannot forever do this 2ww its been almost 1 year on and off...

I'm 31. And I know that doesn't sound too old to concieve but I have just had sooooo many close calls in the past 9 months and not gotten pregnant. It surprises me. I always fall pregnant the first month. BUT I must say that I have always been very blessed to get pregnant only when the timing is perfect. Does that makes sense? So maybe it's just simply not the right time for us. But I don't want to wait much longer!!!

well here i am up at 4.30am couldn;t go back to sleep.....i made myself some mint tea whihc i am usually addicted to and it tastes awful....i also tend to have some lindor choc piece the extra creamy version and it tastes awful too....now am not usually aware of a funny taste in my mouth in previous pregnancies....i go off a few foods all varied with each pregnancy but this is new to me. my lower ab is still sore.....it is like i can;t cough or get up too fast....it have this stichy feeling....

so if i am pregnant here are the symptoms....lol...oh and i just got constipted stool as well....sorry tmi....last nigth when i wiped i had gooey snot like cm blob that is part strechy.

all i can do s pray and hope this is all to do with a BFP and not caused by the clomid....:(

I have had no symptoms this month really... last month i had every symptom under the sun and i got a bfn.. Anyway my symptoms were and are very very sore boobs and they are big and kind of get a itchy feeling in them.. I have been going to the toilet alot the last couple of days and i had been and still have alot of cramping in my left side ovary area! good luck to everyone testing i hope to hear of some bfps!!

Toomanyboys ~ last night after a wee i wiped and too got a blob of snot like cm that was stretchy, exactly as you described.

Well last night didnt sleep vey well, i had gastric band last year and the port is sewn onto my breast bone and its sore at the moment so very uncomfortable, i was also up every hour with DS2, he has a bad cough and found it hard to sleep, dh got in from work at 2.30am and sat tapping on laptop till 3.30am right at side of me in bed. I get up early with boys while he gets to sleep in peace....argh!

oh welll...the end of 4dpo....now i am just sharing but bear in mind i have had symptoms of all sorts in my prev=ious attmepts whereby by 7dpo i felt nothing.....so all this could be post O related....one thing that is definatelt different this time round (esp if you were to compare it to the last copuple of months), is that i have more cm then ever before. the doc did prescribe estrogen cream but i would have thought the effect of that whould have worn off now and progestrone..would take over as it does.....but it is giving me a an excited feeling inside.....the other thing i also have this time and never before....is af cramps coming and going..if you have had labour pain before it is like the very first beginning of labour pains you normally get when you are still some time away from established labour....my stomach at times feels like its boiling and i feel a warming sensation in my uterus...so it must be blood flow.....another symptoms is i am curious about is that i have a sore tummy since O....the kind you cannot pull in your lower abs without it hurting or cough hard at times, or move too quickly around...my stomach is feeling really sore.....and i have this stich like feeling on the lower abs....

well.....just got to wait and see...i am rally trying not obsess.....but i enjoy it too......:)....

The only thing that is different this month is that I have been having lower back pains and no where near as many cramps as I usually get. Oh and I have very very chapped lips.

hi doula...i wa whee you were once and all i can tell you about your news is that....YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!...my daughter is the most girliest girl you could ever wish for despite having three older brothers....and everyday is like chrsitmas with her..despite the moments she plays up....i am so so greatful she is in my life and i just cannot describe that feeling of utter ost contenment with her......but the drawback is....YOU WANT another one...lol..hence why i am so praying i have one final DD for her sake and to relive the whole experience again....

LMAO! No. A friend of mine was having problems conceiving and went to an RE. They told her to use olive oil. She did, got pregnant that month and had a girl. So I figured, why not?

But AS said it isn't sperm friendly, and being that I can't get pregnant even when I use preseed, I figured that was the kiss of death.

I'm sorry I've been away for the past few days (again!) , so I need to read through the posts! But I have amazing news! I got a BFP on Thursday! I was SO sure I was out b/c I had a HUGE drop in temp on Wed., and thought I would start spotting as I was due for af on Fri and normally start spotting on temp drop day, but never started and still felt preggo on Thurs. Did a FRER, it was neg, but I took out an internet cheapie, and it was BFP!!! I'm going to try to attach a pic. The dr. took betas Thurs and it was 24.3. They are going to check next week to make sure they double properly (since i had the chemical in Dec. and 2 previous m/c before my DS) Taking progesterone daily and keeping fx this is a sticky bean!

Fivebabies, I am so so sorry to hear about your bfn.. I know last month when i had a bfn i was so shattered about it , But you have been trying for a while now! I feel so bad posting about my bfp when i see so many of your girls that have been trying so hard for so long!! I tell you this I have learned about girl swaying a little bit but i think I have now learned that there are soooo many woman out there having problems ttc and having to be on Clomid and things like that..I think myself so lucky to be able to concieve on my own .. Im 5dpo and feel nothing, dont feel pg at all where as last month i felt pg and got BFN. Holding off on the testing as last month i poas way too much! Good Luck everyone testing soon x

fivebabies-aren't you only about 10-12dpo....and if you have stopped spotting that may still a positive sign...keep posititve don't loose hope unless AF shows up....

i am 5dpo....now i have symptoms one minute and the next i feel normal..my uterus is truly thouhg sore since dpo..maybe i did release more eggs than usual.....awwww.what a waste that may have been.....oh well another 5 days to go....

FX for you fivebabies that it was an implantation bleed, I know how stressful it is to see BFNs every month. We have been trying since October and I just really want to be pregnant now - there was not a whole lot of sway left last month if I am honest!

Hello I am joining the 2 week wait. Had my last attempt last night: here was my sway:

LE diet since Dec. 30th, lost 20 lbs, my supps: 2 acidopholus a day, Folic acid, baby aspirin, Saw Palmetto & Vitex for 6 weeks stopped at CD1 to start clomid CD3-7, & trigger injection. Dh: cal, mag, cranberry, licorice root 3 a day. Frequent from CD3, released 2 times day before attempts began. Used Rephresh two times & a little bit of sylk with attempts. Got in 7 attempts in fertile window.

Really praying & hoping for a PINK BFP!!

Fivebabies, I am so so sorry to hear about your bfn.. I know last month when i had a bfn i was so shattered about it , But you have been trying for a while now! I feel so bad posting about my bfp when i see so many of your girls that have been trying so hard for so long!! I tell you this I have learned about girl swaying a little bit but i think I have now learned that there are soooo many woman out there having problems ttc and having to be on Clomid and things like that..I think myself so lucky to be able to concieve on my own .. But I feel so bad for you girls that have not got your bfp yet. xoxo I hope it happens very very soon!

LOL. I actually wasn't ttc. I O'd 2 days late and didn't realize until after DH and I had dtd twice that night and then I felt the O pains. So it would've been a welcome surprise but not planned. I plan to wait until the fall to start ttc. Want to lose a few pounds and get healthier. :)

You all are so sweet and supportive! AF did show up in full swing this morning but I'm totally ok with it.

Yes i tested this morning 10dpo of squinting and placing test in every window to see only BFN .Im trying to be negative this time though as i always get my hopes up and then af arrives and pulls the rug out from under me:) but normally i would have gotten af by now?I keep thinking im getting it then nothing?Oh well either tomorrow then or ill do another test in the morning.
When do you plan on testing ,or are you not this time?

I wish I had the willpower to not test, but I am also realistic so will test on Tuesday at 10DPO. I am really trying not to symptom spot though and until this evening I would have said I have had none but today my boobs are a little tender, I am getting a few pains and I fell asleep on the sofa at 7pm so who knows!

Sorry you got a BFN today but your LP is way longer than last month so hoping ou will get good news tomorrow.

well DH has ruled me out this month again as he says about a week before AF due, he can tell as i get in a mood. He said that was today. He said it last month and i got BFN.

I must admit i have been in abit of a p****ed off mood, but im angry about my fish dying, some new fish have brought a disease into my tank and they are dropping like flies :( so im allowed to be p****ed. right??!

Hope he is wrong this month tho.

Ok this may sound ridiculous and I am totally not a symptom spotter but I have been beyond thirsty today- all day & last night had a little heart burn when I was going to bed. I O'd anywhere from Friday at noon to Friday midnight.
R these signs or am I bonkers to even think they could b related to a bfp in my near future!!

Happylea i have no symptoms either and im 12 dpo now but in my case it could very well be the clomid and im late for af one day,this clomid is throwing me for a loop

Hi all, I've been lurking for a while. I am 7 dpo today and no symptoms at all. just a little lower abdomen pain which could be anything. Decided not to read anything into symptoms cos I had loads of them the past 2 cycles so it was really disappointing getting the BFNs. I was on soy the past 2 cycles too which I guess was responsible for all the post-ov cramps I had and mistook for pregnancy signs. I did a lot of things differently this time; no ew, bsf or soy, just used preseed. Hope it was good enough cos I'm real tired of seeing BFNs. will probably test 9-10 dpo. FX for all us

ladies you arent out until af shows up. my last two pregnancies where stark white until 17dpo and only then did i get a super faint line and number 6 was an identical twin. i know its hard not to test at like 8 or 9dpo when some ladies will post their blaring bfp at like 7dpo but its so rare to see one that early and it does give you disappointment to see a stark white line when you feel so pregnant! give it a little time ladies and good luck.

I feel so rough tonight, my throat feels like im swallowing razor blades :( laid in bed and i got a few sharp pains inside my lower abdomen right side, can only describe as someone pinching me on the inside, trying not to read too much into it, didnt last long.

After not alot of sleep last night i feel even more rotten :( my throat is killing my i have headache (major cotton wool head) also keep having hot flushes. Asked DH if he could take today off work today to give me a hand and thats a no :( annoys me when they are ill we have to run round after them but when we are ill we have to suck it up and carry on and sort the kids when i just want to curl up in bed.

Cant really blame him tho as he is a police officer and cant just take time off here and there especially last minute....ho hum!
