Hello all,

I’m a little nervous as this is my first ever post and I have spent many HOURS reading articles, posts and discussions on this site!
I’m from the UK and looking for advice please ladies.

So after 5 years of dipping in and out GD forum my DH and I decided to give it a go. I have 2 DS aged 5 & 9 and I turn 35 next month my DH is 32. I intend to sway pink [emoji176]

I am not over weight, but have followed the diet and exercise loosely for 4 months and have lost over stone (approx 20 lbs) as well as using Pregnitude (UK version)

We DTD once, the day after a positive OPK (although I’m not convinced the clear blue test was accurate). My AF is due in 6 days and my DPO is currently between 9-11 days - although I’m not 100% sure due to a discrepancy between my clear blue test and my online tracker.

Anyway, to my complete surprise 2 days ago ( 11-13 DPO) I did 2 pregnancy tests and they both came back as BFP - although both with very faint lines. I also had sore breasts, discharge and aching joints. So obviously I stopped my diet and was living my best life!! [emoji4]

Today I did two further tests (different brands this time - a clear blue digital and a cheap one) and both were BPN. I’m gutted as thought I was pregnant.

I feel like I’ve messed up now as I’ve stopped my diet and got my hopes up [emoji22]

Could there still be a chance I’m pregnant or should I just get back on the diet immediately in a bid to try and compensate for the last couple of days?

Thanks all [emoji176]

Hi and welcome out of lurkdom!

I'm so sorry but I agree it sounds like a chemical. That is ok, just regroup on diet now. This happens all the time and we still have good results with just going ahead and trying again the next cycle.

Can you give me more information about the discrepancy between the tracker and the clearblue?? The trackers are notoriously unreliable and I may be able to shed some light on where the disconnect lies.

Thank you for such a speedy response! [emoji3059]

Yes, it looks like a chemical [emoji22] I’ll get back onto the diet ASAP.

Well my online period tracker predicted ovulation on 15th August (it’s normally very accurate with my AF) I did my first clear blue OPK on the 12th with a negative and got a positive smiley face on the 13th August however on the 14th it was negative again. As my DH was away we DTD on the 14th. I’ve never tracked by ovulation using kits before so I’m very confused, maybe I don’t ovulate at all?!

Thanks again, your advice is really appreciated x

You ovulated. If you are getting your period and having a fairly regular cycle you are ovulating.

I am a little confused as what you describe sounds exactly what we would expect - you got your positive on the 13th, you will ovulate an average of 36 hours later, then ovulate at some point the 14/15.

It is not at all unusual to go right to solid smiley with no flashies. that happens fairly regularly.

You didn't get two days of solid smiley but that happens sometimes. so this appears to me like the Clearblue and your app are in agreement here.

Thank you, that’s really reassuring. I got confused when I didn’t get two days of positive on my OPK.

Fingers crossed for next month, thank you for your advice and this great platform [emoji3059] xx
