No
DIET
Did you follow a diet plan?
Yes
If yes to diet, which one did you most follow? LE(Low Everything)

Comments regarding DW's diet changes-
I completely changed my diet. I used to snack constantly throughout the day. I totally eliminated snacking. I still ate dairy regularly, but I stopped drinking a glass of milk with each meal like I used to. I ate more salads, fruits, and vegetables than I have in my whole life.
If diet was used, length of time before attempt?
I had been on the diet for 16.5 weeks when I got my bfp.
Did you skip breakfast regularly?
Yes
Did DH change his diet with you?
No
Comments regarding DH's diet-
He changed nothing at all. He's a big red meat eater, though he doesn't eat it all that often -- I hate red meat so I don't cook it. He actually has a pretty terrible diet and eats no fruits & vegetables. He also drinks Diet Pepsi 24/7.
DId you consume alcohol? Often- daily

DId you try to limit caffeine?
No, I drink caffeine regularly
Any Diet Details?
While I did skip breakfast, I still had three meals a day. I could not have done it on two. I DID stick with the fasting though, which I think was more important. I fasted for a minimum of 12hrs. My average during the week was 13-14hrs, and on the weekends when I could sleep in a little bit, I averaged 15-16hrs fasting. My third "meal" was before bed, usually between 10-11pm, as I couldn't go to bed hungry. My next "meal" would be around 1-130pm, which is how I still skipped breakfast.

I had 2-3 cups of coffee per day. I make my own cold brew at home. I used gourmet (sugar free) flavored grounds and would add a splash of whole milk, just enough to lighten it, and splenda. I would drink the 2-3 cups throughout the morning which greatly helped me hold through the fasting period until it was time for my first meal.

I did drink 1-2 servings of alcohol daily. I used to have them with my third meal before bed, but I found that the alcohol that late would mess with my temps in the morning, so I switched to drinking it with the second meal. I had either a hard seltzer (White Claw, Willie's Superbrew, or Smirnoff Seltzers) or 1-2 glasses of moscato.
Any Diet Comments/Additional Info?
I started out on the higher end of the LE Diet Macros -- I was doing between 1750-1800cals daily and 55-60g fat. (I hit the 40-50g protein range no problem throughout the whole sway, this never changed). As the weeks went by, I got used to eating less, and got fuller quicker on less food. I naturally cut back on cals and fat as time went by. For the last 1-2 months, I was down to 1600-1650cals and 45-55g fat.

For the last month I had one full fat yogurt a day, just to get some more calories and fat, as I was struggling to get enough because I got full so quickly. I had dairy daily in the form of cheese, yogurt, ice cream. I don't eat red meat or pork ever (don't like the taste), only chicken and turkey, but I didn't have any meat during my sway (other than one or two cheat meals that had chicken). I did do seafood and had shrimp quite a few times. I ate a ton of meat replacers -- Quorn brand "chicken" in my salads, and quite a few of the Sweet Earth brand vegetarian frozen meals for lunch at work. I tried to stick to soy only 2-3 times a week.

I made good use of fruit and the low carb veg. I would load my salads with the low carb veg and they really did fill me up. I had tons of fruit to be able to get more calories in. In the beginning I sometimes had 2-3 servings of fruit with my meals to help fill me up without going over on fat!

I did have one cheat meal per week. I didn't starve myself before either, I just ate normal LE Diet meals for the rest of the day.
WEIGHT AND EXERCISE
What did you weigh/BMI do leading up to O?
When I started my sway, I was 132lbs, BMI 22.7. I lost 16lbs while swaying, down to 116lbs, BMI 19.9
Any Weight/Exercise related additional info/comments?
I had already been doing Zumba classes 1-2 times a week since last year. I continued doing those classes throughout my whole sway. The rest of the week, I did some form of walking/jogging/running. The first month I exercised 5-6 times a week, and by the second month, I was up to 6-7 days of exercise a week. Towards the end of my sway it was rare that I took a day off -- I usually hit 7 days a week.

In the beginning I could only do fast walking for an hour. By the second month, I was able to add in a couple jogging intervals. After a couple weeks of that, the jogging intervals progressed to running intervals. The last month I was actually doing 70-80mins per day of walking/running intervals. I actually came to love it, I would just put on my playlist and go. [emoji125]*[emoji3601]

Any relevant attempt details?
We did BD every few days in the week leading up to O, but he released outside. We only had one unprotected attempt the day before O, the same day I got my first +OPK.

I went back and forth on J&D but kind of did a modified one? I laid on my back for five minutes, and then my belly for five minutes, than got up and wiped and went to bed. I have a retroverted uterus and my cervix is kind of aimed more to the side, so I wanted to make sure the sperm still had a chance to get up there with only the one attempt. [emoji23] With both my boys I laid down with my hips up for a long time after, so this was still different.
SUPPLEMENTS USED
DW Supplements folic acid
Fiber
Antihistamine

DH Supplements

Any additional supplement info?
The antihistamine was not for swaying purposes, I have to take it daily for medical reasons (year round allergies).

I took one fiber pill 30mins before each meal containing fat.

I took 400mcg folic acid 3-4 times a day.

DH did not take anything
Did you do anything with Ions?

Moon Phase during conception?
Waning Gibbous
Did you use any Old Wives Tales?
No
Things that make me feel great about my sway:
I lost 16lbs, I accidentally ended up overexercising, and we only had one attempt. I feel like those are the three most important sway tactics, and then the coffee, fiber, and alcohol were all just a bonus.

I'm not superstitious and don't believe in magic, BUT I realized that I started my girl sway on May 2nd, 2020, and my due date is now May 2nd, 2021. I thought that was pretty cool [emoji16]
Things that make me nervous about my sway:
That we conceived on the first try. Both of my boys were conceived on the first try also. I know it's silly but I keep thinking, "am I too fertile to have a girl?" If the point of swaying pink is to gently lower your fertility while still being able to get pregnant... I dunno, sometimes I feel like I failed the "lowering fertility" aspect. I read so many posts about the diet delaying people's O days, but I kept up with my regular CD13 O day most months, AND then I still got pregnant on the first try. Sometimes I wonder if I "didn't sway hard enough."
Things worth mentioning:
I got my Mirena IUD out on April 30th, 2020. I had had it in since December 2017. I did chart my cycles with Fertility Friend (I've charted on and off since 2011 so it was not new for me). My first two cycles post IUD by O day was delayed slightly to CD 16 & 17. After that I went right back to O on CD13 as I have for years and years.

Swaying did significantly lighten my period! It used to be very heavy bleeding for 7-9 days. My last two cycles were no more than 5 days and so much lighter.

I can’t imagine the shock you must be in! That’s amazing!

Thank you so much I am doing well and I actually just finished my last clomid pill tonight! So I will be due to ovulate in 5-10 days and we will be having our first one attempt soon! I’m on week 13 of the PCOS le diet now and I have lost a lot of weight. I’ve lost 27 pounds total on this diet. I’m 128 lbs now and 5’8 and my BMI is 19.46 and I was actually just reading your thread on how to hold steady with weight. So I’m at that point now and just trying to hold at 128 lbs and not drop any lower. I may have to eat some pizza or whatever just to keep it there while still exercising. I’m doing 4-5 days of exercising now but would like to keep at least 5 days. Really just trying to maintain exercising too. What did you eat to keep weight on? Did you go up to 65g fat and protein and have more calories?

Woohoo!! You got this! So close, so exciting! [emoji16]

I got REALLY lucky — I got my bfp within a week of making that thread, so I didn’t have to continue in long with the diet afterwards. I also wanted to keep up with the exercise, both because I actually enjoy it and because I think it’s an important part of the sway. But the weight literally flew off me those last few weeks! I had to up my calories to about 1750, which was 100-150 than what I was at before. I hit the upper limits on fat and protein and went over a few times. But if I didn’t do that I would have kept losing my weight. My shorts were falling off my butt already, lol! I added in more fruit, since you only could cals and fruit is free for fat & protein. My problem was I got full so quick on so little food I was struggling to even get more food in my body!!! I think the rest I either had like a serving of cookies or or some laughing cow cheese with triscuits, or some ice cream, to get my cals and fat up on less food. I also definitely had a microwave ramen cup before bed for quite a few days [emoji23] because it had 12g of fat and almost 300cals so it was a great way to boost up the cals and fat without a ton of food at the end of the day. I also was only doing the standard LE diet though, not PCOS, so I know you might not be able to make some of the same choices. I also had a little bit more on my cheat days to help — like I would get a pastry AND a breakfast sandwich AND bubble tea for my cheat meal, instead of just splitting a breakfast sandwich in half and making it two meals or just eating a big cookie for dessert, if that makes sense.

But I agree with you about keeping in the exercise and just upping your totals a bit to maintain — last thing you need is to drop even more weight right as you’re approaching ovulation and accidentally delay it or something. Sorry I can’t be of more help since I’m not on the PCOS diet [emoji3525] But I did up my fruit servings for increase and cals which I think you could do too and then you know better what you can have on the PCOS diet to up the fat, even if it’s some pizza like you said. Good luck, you got this!! [emoji1695]

Thanks so much, hot like Mexico! You are so sweet and encouraging.

Yes I am literally days away from ovulating and I’m just keeping at the upper limits like you and Atomic said to as well and have actually gone over a bit on calories like 2200 instead of 2000 a day. I’m still breastfeeding my 12 month old son so I was allowed up to 2000 calories a day. But I’m sticking to the diet just adding in more whole wheat carbs and fruit and a little wine a few times a week. I agree exercise is very important so I’m going to walk everyday if my weight allows it. I don’t want too fast anymore, just a moderate pace for 60 minutes to help with maintaining my weight. I love excercising too!

I’m so so happy for you! You must be beaming! [emoji4]

Yes I did! And I’m still drinking coffee now. [emoji4] sticking to the 200mg limit that’s recommended in pregnancy. I even had a glass of wine in the TWW until I got my bfp — baby doesn’t share a blood****** then so I was okay with it, and stopped as soon as I got my bfp. I don’t drink soda but if I did I would still have it in the TWW also!

As for me, I had my ultrasound this morning and saw the heartbeat at 6w3d so that was awesome! I was feeling great until later this morning when I think I somehow reinjured my herniated disc in my back and now I can’t walk and I’m freaking out. [emoji27] I don’t even have my first appt until Tuesday so I don’t even know what to expect when I call the office tomorrow morning [emoji3525]

Okay I will have one coffee a day too. I was having 2-3 (mostly 3) a day and one glass of Diet Coke but the last two days I stopped. I’m just going to have one cup of coffee in the morning and maybe one glass of Diet Coke in the afternoon.

That is terrible about your herniated disk and how you are feeling! I’m so sorry!! And you being pregnant too. [emoji27] I hope you were able to get an appointment today. I’m so sorry!!

Yep I was the same way! I normally have 2-3 cups of coffee a day anyway even when not swaying. And I’m definitely continuing with coffee within the 200mg limit now while pregnant. Sometimes it’s the only thing that gets me through the morning at work. [emoji23] I think one cup of coffee in the morning and one Diet Coke in the afternoon is perfect! That’s within the 200mg caffeine limit anyway and you’ll still get the benefits for your sway if you don’t conceive this cycle. When are you going to start testing?! So exciting! [emoji16]

And thank you so much [emoji178] I know it’s terrible timing, it’s like it took the whole excitement over being pregnant away. [emoji853] I have an appt with the neuro office at 1130am tomorrow morning. The OB office said that the neuro docs can consult with the OBs if needed. I hope they can collaborate and figure something out because this is the worst! I have to use a cane to even be able to get up and walk right now. Blah. [emoji3525]

Congratulations on the bfp! I’m on my last period before I start trying and I have a very similar sway to yours :) I also have 2 boys! Except mine are 1 and 2 years old haha. I hope you get a little girl! I can’t wait to hear from you when you find out! Are you keeping it a surprise? I think when and if I do fall pregnant after 2 boys I’m too scared to find out if I’ll have 3 boys close in age haha

Thanks! [emoji178] We are definitely finding out ASAP. I actually go for my prenatal labs, including NIPT, in a little over a week on October 7th! Then we should know about a week after. I can’t wait! So nervous [emoji51]

I give huge props to those who go team green! I never could. I had the anatomy u/s done at exactly 18 weeks with both boys and even that wait was torture! I had pretty bad GD after I found out DS2 was a boy, but I was glad I had all that time before he was born to get used to it. I also find it much easier to bond with baby when I know if it’s a he or a she! This is probably our last so if it is indeed boy #3, I will need all the time I can to grieve the loss of the daughter I won’t have. For me, if I waited until birth, that would give me all that extra time to get my hopes up that it’s a girl, and I think I would be doubly crushed if it were boy #3. I want to be happy and excited at birth and not worrying about “is it a girl or a boy” at that point. But that’s just me and my reasons! Everyone is different [emoji4]

Good luck with your upcoming attempt!! So exciting [emoji16] fingers crossed for you! [emoji1695]

How exciting! I would be so nervous too 😭 I’m nervous and I’m not even pregnant yet haha so I’m trying to not think about it cause I heard it sways opposite😫

Okay now you have changed my mind haha that’s so true though. I reckon I would really convince myself the whole time thinking it’s a girl so you make a good point! I think I’m gonna go to the 20 week ultrasound when that happens and say I don’t want to know the sex but because it’s halfway they have to check everything including private parts for their own record and because I just had 2 boys 14 months apart, I’m pretty certain I can spot a penis especially at 20 weeks lol so I’ll have a sus myself and if I see a boy part I’ll keep it to myself and let me grieve by myself for a bit and if I think it’s girl parts I’ll tell her to write it on an envelope and act all surprised when I open it with my husband or something 😂

Everyone I know says I “look” like a boy mum and I will only have boys (Including my husband) so I’m pretty convinced my next one is a boy but hopefully prove others else wise! I also felt major gender disappointment with my second son. I found out at 12 weeks pregnant. I cried for about 2 months and got over it so I hope if I find out this time it won’t take twice as long, same goes for you! ❤️

They tell ALL of us "you just look like you should have boys" and then once we have our daughters the exact same people will be like "I knew all along you'd have a girl eventually!" Just don't take the comments seriously, people say stuff just to feel their lips moving sometimes.

Haha there you go, that’s a good idea! At my anatomy u/s with DS2, she put the thing on my belly and literally IMMEDIATELY we saw a penis. The first words out of the tech’s mouth were, “well, HE’S not shy!” [emoji23][emoji2358] LOL definitely possible to see the boy parts then! [emoji4]

Well, after a whole big drama with Natera messing up with getting my results to me... they ended up posting them to my patient portal late at night and I saw them at 1am.

My sway failed, I am part of the pink sway opposites for 2020. It’s a boy! And most importantly, low risk.
