Hello ladies. So I recently changed the brand of my vitamin d. They both have the same ingredients and they are both vitamin d3 so I thought I should be ok to switch. But this moth my cm was thick and sparse. Sorry for the tmi. Just wondering if it was because of the brand switch? Other than this I did have a minor cold this month and also took robitussin. Should I go back to my old vitamin d tabs?
Also is a multivitamin with 10mg ginger extract ok to take when ttc boy?
Thank you in advance xx

What kind of Robitussin was it?? Many of the Robitussins have drying agents in them which is likely the explanation.
Can you post me the link to your brand of multivitamin (or give me the name and I'll Google) as sometimes when they have ginger in them, they have other things which are not desirable.

Hey atomic thank you replying. The robitussin is the red one with guaifenesin as its active ingredient. It’s suppose to thin out mucus.
Could the change of brand of vitamin d cause issues. It’s still only vitamin d3 nothing else really added to it.
The vitamin with ginger extract I was asking about is the seven seas pregnancy one. 42853

I really need some advice on increasing EWCM. I drink grapefruit juice, lemon water and about 2 litres of water a day and take fish oil. But still don’t have much. Not sure what’s going on?!
Thank you for taking time out to help me xx

So it is the Robitussin Max cough and chest congestion?? Does it have dextromethorphan in it in addition to the guaifenesin?
I have never had anyone report a change in CM with different brand of Vitamin D. Anything is possible, but that woudn't be my first suspicioun. of course feel free to switch back, and if it does improve, let me know so I can add it to my notes!!!
yes the Seven Seas are fine
Has this just been the one month with the CM?? Did you start all the fluids at that time or before??

Hey atomic. No, I’ve just been taking the regular robitussin. Il post a pic.
RE the the cm it’s only changed this month. But I don’t really get a positive on a opk either with is odd for me. I always get a positive on a opk and good enough cm. this is the first time I’ve had a month like this.
I always drink my fluids and juices. The only thing different was the vitamin d change of brand. It’s probably not that. May be just an odd month I guess!
I love eating dark chocolate sea salt nut bars. Increase of nut can’t be the culprit can it? Sorry for the questions. I will just keep drinking my fluids and hope for a better month next month.
ingredients for the Robitussin
Each 5ml dose contains: Guaifenesin Ph Eur 100mg Also contains: Maltitol Sorbitol Glycerol Sodium Cyclamate Acesulfame Potassium Sodium Benzoate E211 Caramel E150 Ethanol (96%) BP 2.5 v/v
I normally get pregnant on the first try. But this time #cycle 8 and still bfn. I’m 35 so may be that’s the reason 🤷*♀️ But honestly never thought 35 was that old for ttc. Lol

Yes or just the exact name so I can look it up and make sure it's ok. Oh wait I see you put up the ingredients, ok that should be fine.
Hmm I wonder if your ovulation was delayed htis month? That would explain the lack of CM at the appropriate time and also not having the positive OPK you were expecting. Have you gained a lot of weight over the 8 months?? What vitamin are you taking (multivitamin)? Any other supps?
I wouldn't expect the dark choc would be the culprit either. Let's keep brainstorming and seeing what we can figure out.
Can you tell me everything you guys are doing for your attempts??

Yes definitely seems as though itÂ’s a delayed or non existent ovulation. IÂ’m not sure itÂ’s never happened before.
IÂ’m taking seven sea pre conception right now
Nutritional Information
Per Pill % RDA
Vitamin D 5 µg 100
Vitamin B6 1.4 mg 100
Folic Acid 400 µg 200
Vitamin B12 1.5 µg 60
Biotin 50 µg 100
Iron 14 mg 100
Zinc 10 mg 100
Selenium 55 µg 100
But will switch to the other ones. IÂ’ve been taking these for a while so I know they are ok. I also take fish oil and extra vitamin d.
As for attempts we normally do smep. And I stay in bed afterwards.
I’m about 130lbs and 5”2. Which I believe is in the healthy bmi range.
IÂ’m not really doing anything extreme to be honest. IÂ’m following a good HE diet.
Eggs in the morning
Snack on bite size burgers or nut bars
Lunch is dinner left overs. Meat potatoes rice chicken vegetables etc
Dinner is wholesome. Veg meat and carbs
So no idea whatÂ’s going on.

Even if it's delayed, it will likely still happen. So be on the lookout for increased EWCM, libido, and other symptoms so you can start the OPK.
Honestly everything looks great - it is probably just one of those wacky months that happens now and then.

I’ve stopped testing! I just gave up really. Didn’t see much of a line developing and non fertile cm. I’m still not really seeing any signs and I’m on cd14 Still negative tests. At least I know for next time. That it could be a delayed ovulation and to keep testing. I just put it down to a wacky cycle lol
I guess we are all human at the end of the day our bodies don’t operate as robots. Fingers crossed for a better cycle next month! Please send me all you beautiful blue dust and good prayers Atomic!
Thank you for replying to me. I don’t have many people I can talk to so just discussing everything in general felt like a weight off my shoulders. Thank you my virtual friend 😊

Oh gosh you're only on CD 14??? Please keep testing. Anything up to CD 21 is a totally normal cycle and up to CD 35 ovulation is quite common. You will all but certainly still surge and ovulate. If you must you can wait till you see EWCM but if you have cheap OPK I'd just take one every day after lunch and see if anything develops.
Sending you all the blue dust and prayers I have!!!

Ah I feel silly that I stopped testing so early. I’ve never had a positive past cycle day 14 so that’s why I felt so negative about it all.
I will keep testing and see what happens. My cm has started to change too. So most like a late ovulation this month.
One last question atomic! I’ve posted about two vitamins on the thread. One which is the seven seas preconception tablets that I’ve posted the information for and the other one is the seven seas pregnancy tablets which has more vitamins (the purple pic)
I’m currently taking the preconception ones. Should I switch to the pregnancy once’s instead? Does it really make a difference? Does one look better than the other?
Thanks atomic you’re a star 🌟

The one with the ginger is the pregnancy one?? That one seemed much more thorough, I'd switch to that.

So I continued to test and got a positive opk today at 12pm!
Now is it ok to make attempts today, tomorrow am and pm and then the following day too? Last time husband released was two days ago.
We normally dtd every few days unprotected but this month we didn’t. All attempts would be from positive opk onwards is this ok? I’m worried I won’t get enough attempts in?
Plan is tonight, tomorrow am+pm and then following day. Then may be every other day after that.
Or skip this month and dtd every few days before a +opk and then the three attempts. I don’t know what’s ideal?!
Thanks in advance! Xx

Yes!!! That is exactly what I want you to do!! PLEASE don't skip this month!
In upcoming months sure, go ahead and BD unprotected every 2-4 days but I don't want you to miss out on this perfect opportunity to try. Go for it!

Ok that’s great! So I always get CM for 2 days before a positive and then nothing much on a positive opk onwards. Should I use pressed? Or am I ok to skip it? I’m so sorry for all these questions! Thank you for helping me! X

It's up to you. Most people do want to use the Preseed, but then again most of us with all boys (myself included) got our boys without it. Follow your gut instinct.
