I just found out I’m having my 4th boy. My father-in-law informed me that there is new research that states the mother determines the sex of the baby after implantation. Is this true? I always thought it was the man that determines the sex.

That doesn’t sound right to me. Sex is determined at the moment of conception and implantation takes a few days to happen after conception, and by then the cells are already dividing. However swaying and conditioning the mothers body seems to increase odds of getting a boy or a girl.
Hopefully Atomic sees this and answers why!!!
However it certainly happens before implantation.

As mommymachine said, sex is determined at conception by the sperm being boy or girl. However, I think i know what study he's talking about. There is new research that the egg "decides" which sperm to accept. If that's true, it may explain why altering ourselves through swaying may change what our egg accepts. 🤷🏼*♀️

The answer is that both parties have some say in the baby's gender. But it takes place before conception, not after implantation. We don't know why it all works yet, but we can see in studies that women who follow certain kinds of diets and lifestyles (even including the job you work at) have more of one gender than the other, and at the same time men who smoke cigarettes, jog or bike a lot, and work in certain industries also have more of a certain gender than would be expected. So it appears that both genders have some influence over the outcome of gender. For those of us with 3-4-5 or more in a row, it's likely that both ourselves and our partners have certain factors that make us more boy or girl friendly.
