.. I hope this is okay to ask, if we had unprotected sex but it didn’t quite go to plan (husband was too tired), is that considered an attempt? Or is it okay to try again tomorrow and then again in 72 hrs as planned?

If he did not ejaculate inside you, that is not an attempt and you should have an attempt ASAP.
