Hello
I've watched a doctor on youtube saying that Methyl folate is far better and safer than folic acid. ً
What's your opinion, Atomic? if so, How to switch and how much should I take?
He suggested this one:

Jarrow Formulas, Methyl Folate, 400 mcg, 60 Veggie Caps

Folate is better for those who can afford it. By all means it's fine to switch over.

What I DON'T want to see is people who can't afford folate skipping folic acid totally because they are scared by YouTube doctors into not taking it. Most people tolerate folic acid just fine and can take it instead.

The same amount I always recommend - 1200-1600 mcg daily started right away, continued thru the entire first trimester of pregnancy, and then gradually weaned back to the amount in a prenatal by gradually spacing doses further and further out till down to one per week, then you can drop it.
