Hi all,

I thought that what I have circled was the nub; during my 12 week scan it was very obvious and my initial thought when I saw it was ‘boy’ [emoji53]

Anyway I’ve since been informed this is probably not a nub (Facebook groups) and all my research has left me without any clues and wondering what it could be, any ideas would be really helpful?

Thank you

Was this 12 weeks exactly?

Do you have a pic where the baby is not balled up?

I think that thing is part of the baby's arm or hand.

Thanks for taking a look, it 12 week 1 day. Due to COVID we were not allowed to operate the picture machines and were given one picture of the sonographer’s choice so this is all I got.

I have these from 11 weeks 6 days but baby was jumping around all over the place!

oh ok. That is earlier than I feel comfortable guessing. All babies look like girls at this point.

All of the white lines in that region look pretty parallel to the spine, so... I'd hesitantly guess girl. It's not the shape or protrusion that matters at this gestation, but the angle of the nub.

That having been said, just to clarify, in the 11th and early 12th week there are still many many boy babies who have a flat nub parallel to the spine that will rise later into the 12th week or even 13th week. It is very common for boys to still look like girls this early.

Thank you both for having a look [emoji4].
I know the 11 week 6 day scans don’t hold much weight in terms of the nub. TBH we only did it as COVID restrictions mean all NHS scans in my area are the mother only. I really didn’t want to be alone if anything had been wrong at my 12 week one so we had a private scan a few days before.

I feel like I’m actually sending my self a little crazy wondering about the gender this time around and it’s just not healthy.
I’m not as focused on my boys, or work. I can’t even get into a good book or film as I’m constantly consumed with thoughts of what the baby might be and googling about the bloody nub theory! [emoji849][emoji23]

My husband and I agreed to be team green this time around but I think I might see if I can find a private clinic and go for a gender scan alone (I feel so guilty) but I just need to know
