Hi
I cant get pregnant and luteal phase too short! I found out by using ovusense. It was my 1st cycle and my baby feeds 4 times a day. I read vitamin b6 and c can help lengthen luteal phase but could that affect my sway? I need to lengthen it but maybe it will come back naturally but I just cant stay on this diet for months and months.

What did the Ovusense tell you exactly? How did you use it?

PLEASE do not take B6 and C. Yes, they will affect your sway negatively, but worse, they don't work for most people, and the B6 often makes matters worse anyway, so people end up not only with a short LP, but also a badly delayed ovulation too.

Again, please go over your diet in detail. I suspect your LP is short because you are not eating enough, and in that case nothing you take will help. We have to be sure you are getting enough food, particularly fat and calories, to fix this.

Drop fiber right away if you were using it.

Hi I eat a lot. I actually have started to overeat to be honest. Usually around 2000 calories. I read vitamin b6 can lengthen luteal phase? If I don't take it..how could I lengthen my luteal phase or I wont be able to get pregnant. Maybe cut down amount of feeds baby takes?
I think it may be short due to breastfeeding and only my 1st cycle since I had my baby. Ovusense showed I ovulated but then had my period today at 7dpo or 843133

I never have took fibre. I eat butter on my toast, have a full fat yoghurt and 2 oranges. I drink raw milk in my coffee. I eat cheese sandwiches for lunch with fruit and maybe 2 biscuits and meat and rice and sauce at dinner. I also have 1 snack which is a healthy nut bar. Sometimes wine

should I maybe be on vitamins though? I haven't had any since my baby was born 11 months ago. I also wake a few times at night

No. Something is not right here and we must be proactive about figuring it out because otherwise we'll be right back here in a few months (if you're not eating enough, that is) and you've wasted time and will end up having to sway blue just to get pregnant again.

99% of the time someone comes to me with a short LP they are not eating enough. Only very rarely is it due to breastfeeding, coming off BCP that kind of thing.

2000 calories should be ok but what is your BMI? Sometimes we need nursing moms to go up to 2200.

DO NOT TAKE B6. Not only does it sway blue, like I said above, most of the time people taking it find that their LP does not get longer, but then they also have a delayed ovulation.

Yes, it's possible since it is your first cycle when nursing that plays some part but I have to err on the side of caution for you guys.

hmm I definitely am eating enough though. Maybe my body had a shock due to not snacking so much and cutting out tea. I have 3 cups of coffee a day. Maybe the caffeine? I definitely do eat enough though. I have been pretty stressed and not sleeping. That maybe could have affected my progesterone? It says by can help. I feel maybe just cutting out 1 feed maybe could help43134

I wouldn't take vitamins if you want a girl.

You don't need to drop feeds, if it's down to breastfeeding we will see an improvement over time. If it's down to diet we'll tweak some things.

It is not the coffee. Please understand that I have to be sure about your diet because that's the best way for me to help.

I suspect this will get better in time IF you are really eating enough. (many times people think they are eating enough, and then when I question them, they aren't. That is why I'm asking you this.)

Please do not cut out feeds. Your baby needs them now. If you're eating enough this will get better in time without changing anything.

Yeah I do think it is the breastfeeding and my body is trying to get ready but realises it cannot yet. Don't understand why I ovulated then though. I did read a lot of breastfeeding mums have a short luteal phase until baby feeds less

yes, it takes a lot of food resources to nurse a baby, that is why I am asking about your diet to be sure you have enough food coming in to both nurse and conceive.

Do you have totals for protein, fat, and calories?

ok I just have to be patient then thank you. My baby is 11 months and feeds when he gets up, before 1st nap, before 2nd nap and before bed. He eats 3 big meals a day and 2 snacks. I really think I could maybe drop the 1st feed before nap 1. He has had his morning feed and breakfast before that nap. He eats so much haha.

You definitely do not think it is short due to not taking prenatals while breastfeeding? Also I really only wanted to do diet for 3 months. If I have to keep doing it to cycles get better..what if it is like 7 months ! I miss tea haha

Yes if you're sure you're eating enough then this is likely just a wait it out type of situation.

Your body does not need prenatals to ovulate or get pregnant. Prenatals were not even a thing until about 25 years ago, and the human body has no need for them. I got pregnant when breastfeeding and I was not taking prenatals.

You do not need to drop a feed. Four feeds a day is barely anything. Just be patient. As long as you're eating enough your cycle will come back.

You may have had to do diet for seven months anyway even if your cycle was regular! Unfortunately swaying does cut chances of conception.

around 1890 calories when being good. Protein around 72g , fat around 57g . Hard to know as I sometimes get take away lattes and u sure of calories in them and sometimes get wraps which are 460 calories and20g protein instead of a cheese sandwich. I probably am eating too much. I crave snacks between meals so always have 1 snack instead of like 6 snacks a day and don't eat after 6

I don't track anything due to previous eating disorder. Yes I got my pregnant with my 2nd while breastfeeding. I waited to he was 18 months before trying as read that is best for our bodies to recover. Maybe I should wait until then again and maybe my cycles will have improved x

Should I maybe cut the snack? Just breakfast lunch and dinner. I eat around 8am and then lunch around 1 and dinner at 5 or 6. Always get hungry around 3 and have a nut bar which is 200calories

I was 8 stone when my 1st period happened and I am 7 stone 10 now and trying not to lose anymore weight hence why I added the 1 snack. Going to that weight...could that have caused a short luteal phase? Do I need to go back to 8 stone? I was only 8 stone due to binge eating though.

If this is really what you're eating this is pretty good. You are NOT eating too much. If you're breastfeeding the limits on LE Diet are 1800-2000 cals anyway

That coupled with breastfeeding may have. There's nothing wrong with being 8 stone! that is still very petite! I would just go back to that again.

As long as you are eating enough, yes, you're right you don't need to track with history of an eating disorder. What I'm trying to protect you from, is this tendency people have to cut back more and more when they aren't tracking because they don't realize how little they're actually eating. So I just want you to be really srue you are getting enough.

I seem to be staying around 7 stone 10 with not eating so many snacks so will see how next cycle goes. Afraid to increase weight as that can sway boy.
