Hello, amazing ladies :) After stalking this site for about a year, I have finally purchased a plan!! Cannot thank you enough for sharing your journeys and advice, it has been so wonderful to read and learn from.

I have two beautiful sons (2 & 4mths). I experienced GD with both of my boys, but now I cannot imagine life without them. They make me a much better human and have taught me to be more patient, chilled out and have go-with-the-flow vibes (I'm a teacher and am pretty obsessive/anxious/anally retentive about details and controlling everything!!).

Like most, I unintentionally swayed blue while trying to sway pink... I had read somewhere to eat lots of dark chocolate and drink lots of dairy to get a girl, so I was drinking 2-3 pints of full cream milk daily, plus milk on cereal or in oats, plus SLICES of butter on bread, and huge meals, plus lots of snacking... my must haves were pasta topped with lots of cheese and corn and canned tuna, and lots of milk and dark chocolate (I love chocolate, would smash a block in a single go). PLUS top-of-the-range prenatals, Beroccas, calcium and cranberry vitamins... and no coffee or softdrink or alcohol, because I had read about the effects of caffeine on bub. While teaching I would have my big leftovers lunch at 10:50am and be fairly sedentary, and would snack while I was planning or marking (which was all the time). Conception-wise, we were on holidays to visit family both times and really went at it. No exercise, big Os, snacking constantly... I really went all out swinging the other way, hey! Will be doing pretty much everything opposite this time around :) :)

My husband and I have always wanted three children, regardless of gender, so when our little man is 1 we're planning on throwing everything we've got at a pink sway and thennnnn nnnnot finding out the gender until they're born!! Seems a bit pointless, but I know I will love my baby no matter what gender they are once they're here, and I don't want to give any airspace to people making silly assumptions or comments while I'm pregnant. I'm sure we all know what that's like :(

Lifestyle now is already pretty different - no breakfast, 2-3 coffees with almond milk a day; lunch at 11am, snack at 2:30pm, dinner at 5:30pm; big walk with my boys every day (gotta run those kids!!); verrrrry broken sleep because EBF & cosleeping & toddler; much smaller portion sizes.

Questions...
* We're not trying until at least July/August. Should I gradually start swaying with diet and exercise, or hit it hard from April? Is it better for my system to be shocked or to have established a lifestyle?
* Rice or almond milk in coffee?
* running or walking? I have bought a treadmill and have started doing 10-20 minutes walking daily.

THANK YOU for all your wisdom and help!! I am so looking forward to starting my plan and not obsessing about if I'm doing the right things/eating the right things :) :)

That is exactly what so many of us did - follow the "rules" and have all this dairy for a girl thinking we were doing the right thing, only to end up ingesting far more nutrients than we normally did and basically sway blue for them.

Some of this I'll cover in your sway plan (I have your questionnaire, thanks!) but in the meantime I do want to answer a few of them now since they're germane:

I think it's ok to make SOME changes now but I do think you need to err on the side of not being too strict. With EBF plus too strict a diet you will not get your period back any time soon. Be sure you're eating 1800-2000 cals (or even more ) and 60 g protein and fat.

Rice/almond milk I'll cover in your plan.

I would walk. Walking ahs worked just as well and too many people are getting injured when trying to run.

Hey Sagebear, I m in a similar situation ! My youngest, a boy, is 4 months too and i want to ttc in summer/end of summer. How much costs such a plan? First my period has to come back, thats a real problem i think with EBF. My son already weights 17,7 lbs (8 kg) so he was and is hungry all the time. And i m always hungry , my weight is 62 kg, so i dont want to lose more weight by eating less. Try to eat vegetarian at the moment, but i really feel that i need fat and protein. I had 3 kids in 3 years - maybe thats the reason for my huge appetite. I would know if swaying pink this year is too early to have a good sway or if its now that i m in good (that means poor) condition to have another daughter. Honestly, it would be OK if its a boy, this way my son had a brother. I turn 35 this year...i fear i m getting too old to handle 4 kids lol. And in my middle 20s i had been diagnosed with PCOS, that in my head, too - even conceiving the last 3 times was no huge problem (2. cycle, 3. cycle at my girls and 5. cycle at my son). But i have too much thoughts.

Best regards from germany :)

The pricing on the plans is here: https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/payments.php but we have an unusual situation going on right now where the site owner has not been online for several weeks. I don't know what's going on with her, but I'll still keep on making people plans! And if you prefer not to buy a plan now (totally understandable) then I'll help you how I can here in the free forums.

I would have you eat a higher level of calories, protein, and fat, while using the PCOS-type diet. We use higher numbers for people who are breastfeeding. We would not have you lose too much weight. We are very careful not to have you guys lose a lot of weight if you don't have much to spare.

Thanks a lot dear atomic!! (BTW i m reading all your essays at the moment - you re definitively a gifted writer! ) If the site owner doesn't come back, so i know i find you here in the forum And please excuse my poor english i m not used to speak it often.

So you would have me to eat more protein and fat out of plants or out of eggs, diary and meat? Last time i was really focused on Weston Price Nutrition - i think that gave me my son, but unfortunatly i was on antibiotics the time i conceived (i was really ill before and never expected conceiving that month) I think i have to eat a lot until my period will come back, am i right? I read an article which said that the lactational amenorrhoe can stop, when the body notices enough calories to feed more than one baby. Is there any further evidence in your experience, atomic?

Yes and if for some reason the forum goes away (I have no control over that) you guys can always reach me at atomicsagebrush@gmail.com

Yes that's right, your period will come back when your body feels like you have enough food coming in. But because we are swaying pink, we are aiming at eating enough to get your cycle going, but not so much to sway blue.

Let's start off with 2000-2200 cals, 65 g protein and fat (and yes, the bulk of this should come from plant sources, but also eggs and dairy) and full fat dairy only. I would have at least one serving of full fat dairy every day and be sure to have 4-6 eggs a week, and one serving of salmon if you like it, red meat if you don't, every week.

Thank you , i really hope this website will survive. But if i had to buy a plan from you personally that would be no problem. At the moment i eat no fish, but i take the rests of my codliver oil from pregnancy, maybe 2-3 times the week. Is this OK? When the winter is over - and i am sooo excited when spring will begin!! I need to get my walks in the nature. But now with 2 litte children and a baby i dont get much fresh air at all. I feel exhausted from all the lockdowns here in germany... I will begin with LE diet in end of March/April i think, thats when my litte bub will get formula and little first meals. Its funny i never wanted a boy, i had a lot of GD the whole pregnancy, but when he was there, he s such a little cutie. I often think about swaying when he laughs and i think a boy is such a gift, my girls never looked at me so in love like he does.
I read all your texts about the mental or character of boy and girl mums - its a phenomenon. But for me i am a mom of both genders so i don t know if i m more the dominant type at all. Finally i think it s a litte coincidence or call it fate what gender you get. And even i have already two girls i got this strange feeling that there is missing another one.
Sorry for this too much information - i dont have anyone to talk about swaying, no one here except me believes in this.

What is the dose on the cod liver oil?

If you want a girl I would definitely wean off that at some point, but if you don't plan to go on diet till March or April you can continue a little longer.

You have both boys and girls so I would not read too much into the personality stuff.

Yes, there is definitely a huge element of luck involved in the gender you get. We cannot sway 100%, we can just bend the odds somewhat.

Hey, we all understand here! Please let me know how I can help!

Hey, we all understand here! Please let me know how I can help!

I took about one spoon of codliver oil from møllers when i take it. Its so much benefit for my teeth and has Omega 3 in it - i got some problems with dry skin while breastfeeding and and that benefits too. I think i will stop it when i will wean off. I know Omega 6 is better than 3 for a pink sway.

At the moment i even take a Vitamin B komplex with 10mg zinc and an iron supplement with vit c, my midwife gave it to me (my blood values were bad 7 weeks after birth). This both i will finish, because last blood test was a lot better. So i will stop this supplementation this month. I am only a litte afraid of getting ill instantly without all the supplements lol ;) I will substitute this to only folate 800 mg.

And i forget to mention that i take 150-200 mg iodine and 60 microgramm selen regulary (thyroid hormones was a bit low in past) , and 30 mg ubichinol. Is it OK to take this along the LE diet ?

But for now: 4,5 months after giving birth there is still no CM at all - no fertility so far. I am definitively no women which will ovulate while breastfeeding. I guess first period will appear 4- 6 weeks after weaning of. Should i wait for AF to begin with LE diet? I assume its a lot easier to eat LE diet in summer than in winter. Thats why i want to begin in April, my hopes are to conceive between june and september. When it gets colder i probably cant manage to eat less ;).

So my little sway will be my secret - i only share with you here. Great :D

OK, so i am a mixed mom and no Martha or Mary all alone, a kind of Marthy haha.
The reason why i write this early before swaying in the forum is that i dont want to be strictly focused anymore while ttc - last time this was a huge problem in my head. I only had girl names and then i didn t believe it really was a boy in my belly... This time i want to be relaxed about it, its OK if its a boy, i will have a name - this time i know a lot of beautiful boy names ;) Any healthy baby is a gift of the universe. Overall i dont want to be fixed whole the time about my sway. So no timing, no ph, no alcohol because i never drank some and for frequency i hope we will BD at all 2 times a months - hubbys drive is very low.

Just be sure you wean off the supplements rather than stopping them suddenly. Your body gets screwed up when you stop supplements too fast.

Iodine and ubiquinol are ok to take when swaying pink.

It is typical to be infertile for even up to a year when nursing, and many people go longer. But it does come back in time for most people even without nursing.

I like you guys to wait till your baby is at least 6 months old. You may even want to wait longer if you're still nursing.

I don't think we see it any easier to eat LE in summer. It all depends on the food you like and your lifestyle. Many people go to a lot of celebrations in the summer and not in the winter.

Yes it's our secret! LOL!

I think most of us are Marthys, LOL! (that's great! I"m going to steal that!) It's just we talk about these personality types to look at trends and understand them and not because anyone is really one or the other!

We see a lot of people with all girls whose husbands have very low sex drive. That's good!

Well, how do i wean off slowly - like lowly decrease the dose of B komplex (like 1 Tablet every 2 or 3 day, instead of everyday? Or take a half/quarter every day?)
Personally i am a bit in a depressive mood in the wintertime when its dark nearly whole the time, and dont move so much, but eat more. Most celebrations are in winter here, which is pretty good for my mood. Thats one reason because i prefer summer, the other is that if i had a choice i never want to be pregnant in the height of summer. My son was born last september, and it was an easy pregnancy but the temperatures and sweating constantly was horrible. Beeing pregnant in winter feels fine for me. But who knows when it will happen next time...
My son turns 6 months in 4 weeks, than i will slowly introduce food and begin to give him a bottle. We will see when my cycle will return, not before May i think. And then the first 3 cycles were often not normal - i will have time enough to enjoy the summer :D (Love thinking of summer, while we re having 1 meter of snow here and 1,4 ° F brrrrr)

Just gradually space out the doses further and further out till down to one per week, then you can drop them.

So in that case maybe it will be harder for you in the winter and you can make your plans accordingly!

Thanks a lot atomic, you re awesome!!
I slowly switch to a vegan lifestyle in spring - like McDougall promotes. But i think its better to include a few eggs and a but of organic whole diary (for me organic milk, or joghurt, i hate cheese). Fat intake is otherwise too low for a good fertility even when swaying pink. And whats about legumes - in the swaying under circumstances thread it was a little consusing. Is it too much protein or does it lower fertility? Don t we want to lower fertility at all to the level of beeing just in case fertile?
If the lockdowns will go on i will not have the possibility to do cardio or long walks as my kids are not walking straight on - haha. But i do a lot of household the whole day, i never got the feeling of needing sports ;)

Furthermore, my hubby never want more release than 1 a week. Maybe every 5-7 days and he never do release on his own. So there might be only one BD as near as possible at positive OPK. Would it lower the chances for pink? Hubby never drank alcohol or smoked his whole life, but he drinks a lot of milk sometimes and occasionally too much sweets and meat.

Thanks for your support!

I definitely want you to be eating 50-60 g fat wherever it comes from, so if you need to have some dairy or eggs you'll need to do that.

MANY different people do that alternate diet. Some of them have different dietary needs than others. So a minority of people who are really struggling to conceive may need to give up legumes. But most people can have them.

It is possible (and in fact quite easy) to lower fertility too far, plus there are people on this site who already have issues of infertility. So it is a balancing act between reducing fertility enough to sway pink while not reducing it too much.

Doing stuff around the house has really not seemed to be enough. It's fine not to exercise if you feel you can't, but it won't count for exercise, that's all.

It doesn't lower the chance of pink to only have one attempt, that helps a pink sway.

If he's over 35 he may want to try to be releasing at least every 5 days to be sure his sperm quality is still healthy.

Oh no! This is why I didn't get a reply. I didn't realize you didn't run the site atomic. You helped me get my baby girl in 2015! I tried to have one more girl, but didn't follow the sway as well and gave birth to a baby boy in 2019, I have an older boy too. I would love to try again for a girl, but my husband is nearly 50 and I am 43 - is it too late?!
I'm doing a LE diet and trying to eat vegetarian. But I wonder if I should get the plan?I have the recipe book, but obviously our ages change things (FR, etc). Would love your thoughts! And if we buy the plan, you still have access to write it for us?

Thanks so much Atomic!

It's not too late, but I do want you to go into it with the understanding that you may not get pregnant as easily (or at all.) While we do have some conceptions even up thru 46, 43 is going to be a fairly diminished chance of conception.

We may actually have better results with you not being a vegetarian this time through but I'll put all that in your plan.

I'm still making plans and everything seems to be working! I'm just sending them via email instead of posting them on the site.

I'll keep a lookout and if you do buy a plan I'll make it for you ASAP as we'll need to do a hurry up sway and not waste time.

Hey Atomic! Disappeared off the face of the earth while being with my littlest son through his cancer journey <3 <3 He's now stable and we are loving life. Hope you are well!

I was wondering if you would please tick/flick my dietary changes quickly? I've still got the plan that I purchased from you back in 2021, just wanted to see if I'm on the right track before we start trying, I'm a bit rusty!!

I'm 183cm and 73kg - the lightest I've been since high school (now 33yo).

Food - PCOS-friendly diet (you were totally right, have just been diagnosed!), 2 meals a day. Coffee with almond milk for b'fast, lunch is salad+sweet potato+hummus+avo+protein and an almond latte, dinner of chicken/veg or equiv. light protein/veggo option. No snacking, no sugar (I've just got braces, yaaaaay... but benefits are I can't snack or eat or drink sugary foods!)

Exercise - walk to the beach daily with my babies <3 I do some PCOS-friendly workouts a few times a month - 30min of slow weighted workouts with 1kg dumbells, basically squats and lunges. Should I cut this, increase it...?

I am consistently ovulating on CD17, so we were going to give it one crack on CD13 and then inch closer every cycle.

My one concern with the sway is my mental state - I'm kind of hung up on the idea that I won't "get a girl" because I don't have really strong female friendships and a sense of community. I don't have any family in town, and the pattern I see is that all these supported women around me are having girls, and I have to dig into my masculine energy a lot to run our household while my husband works away. I've taken a lot of stress and competitiveness out of my life and really feel like I'm rolling along instinctively and slowly, but I can't shake this sadness and have it in my mind that it's this one factor that will be the decider - mostly based on seeing those interactions around me, not feeling supported, and feeling judged and excluded by my MIL, who is a mother of sons too. Can you give me some hope here, please?? :(

THANK YOU!!! xxxxx

Oh gosh, what an ordeal! I am so glad to hear your little man is doing well now!

Do you happen to have totals on fat, protein, and calories?? it's tough for me to sign off on diets without knowing the amounts of those things, since serving size varies.

I would aim for 60 minutes of exercise 4-7 times a week. Things that build muscle like lunges and using dumbbells should be dropped for the time being in favor of primarily cardio, like walking, dancing, that sort of thing.

You need to stop worrying about your mental state. The ONLY, sole reason I ever even mention the mental aspect of swaying to begin with is so pink swayers would leave off planning these super ridiculous, highly complex sways where they were scheduling months in advance in 15 minute increments and testing their temperature, pH, and the phases of the moon several times a day and then graphing it all on a chart, LOL. That's IT. It was never my intention for you guys to replace doing those things with then worrying about your mindset and changing your thoughts. You cannot change your thoughts. Don't try. Trying will a) fail and b) only make matters worse because then in addition to having swaying on your mind (natural) you'll have all the control freakishness of trying NOT to think about that stuff and only thinking about it more. It's a vicious cycle and it is just the same old control freakishness in a new form.

All of us, boy mom and girl mom alike, have day to day stress from running a house. Many of us, myself included, have little to no support. I had the least support of my entire life whan I got my daughter and I honestly hear the exact opposite - moms of all girls off in the wilderness alone with no help while many moms of boys have very supportive moms and sisters and friends - not always of course but it is certainly not the trend you think you're observing. We are all judged my our MILs or similar figures in our life (many of my blue swayers, particularly in Asia and Africa, have horrible MILs who are constantly after them because they havent had sons.) None of these things sway. None of them will affect your sway. What WILL affect your sway is trying to control your thoughts 24-7. Just let it go because you're accomplishing nothing with that mindset.

Now please don't try to control your thoughts in THAT regard either, LOL! You're going to worry about the outcome of your sway, it's totally normal to do that and both pink and blue mamas have that happen to them! Just keep busy and fill your life with other, better things!

Thank you Atomic <3 <3

I logged yesterday's meals into calorie tracker - 1000 calories, 65g protein and 33 fat. I'm finding it pretty difficult to eat with my new braces at the moment. Today I added breakfast of 2 eggs/avo with wholemeal toast and I have been having a generous serve of greek yoghurt with raspberries and honey for dessert, just to bump up the fats and proteins. Since getting ortho I have seen a huge weight drop - I've always been about 85-90kg, and I'm down to 73kg because I can't chew anything!!! And I am still nursing my 2.5yo.

I will keep up the daily walks with the kiddos and keep trying to get more protein and good fats in - how much greek yoghurt is too much greek yoghurt, lol...!!

Oh gosh yes I'm sorry but that just cannot work. That will make you stop ovulating and is not at all good for your health (nor is it conducive to your milk supply that's for sure). While you do still have a bit of weight to spare (which is great, that's exactly where we want to be with swaying) we don't want you to waste away to nothing, either.

To be swaying while nursing, you'll need more like 1800-2000 calories 50-60 g protein and fat. There is NO "too much" unless you have exceeded these levels. Even if you have to resort to four meals a day to get enough food in, you need to eat an adequate amount to help you get and stay pregnant!!!
