We got the results of our NIPT test and we are having a boy in August!

Thank you so much atomic for having this site that we can all learn from.

About us:

I am 40 my husband is 29. I have a 20 daughter, 17 son and 8 daughter. We tried for 5 months to get pregnant. We started to sway 5 months before our attempts.

What we did:
I took prenatal, fish oil, probiotic, coq10, Vit d, folic acid
Husband took men’s 1aday, fish oil, probiotic, eo day coq10, vit d

I tried to eat smaller meals often never leaving out breakfast.
Ate things like oatmeal, muslix, v8, whole juice, fruit, veg, meat, just tried to stay healthy eating and not skip meals but also not over eat. Husband eats same but has more treats lol

I walked 5x week (kids to school and back) weights 1-2
Husband does the gym every day pretty much but he loves it.

On the month it worked we beded CD 10pm, 12pm, 13am/pm, 14am/pm
I ovulated CD 14 and usually have a 27-28 day cycle
We would have done it 1 more time but my husband had to cut off as he had a semen analysis in a few days.
This was the first time we used preseed the “right” way. Actually using the applicator to add inside. Before we would just just it mostly to start on the outside tmi lol.
I believed this was our swaying point to getting pregnant this month.

On another note on my first blood test my doctor found out that I have hypothyroidism. She said it is mild and normally wouldn’t treat it but because I am pregnant it is important to take meds. After finding this out I researched it. I have been haven’t symptoms for almost a year I bet. Mine were hair loss and nigh sweats, I was waking up in puddles. It also can be hard to conceive. After starting meds my hair isn’t falling out and I don’t have the puddles anymore. I just wanted to add this in case anyone else needs their thyroid checked.

Wishing you all the gender you desire and a health you and baby!

Oh Treens I am SO happy for you guys!!!

Many times hypothyroid can flare early in pregnancy. Yes, you may have had something going on all along, or maybe it started with conception, we can't know. But absolutely do take your medication religiously because untreated thyroid issues can cause losses.

Wishing you every joy with your family!

Yes! Actually my thyroid gets messed up every pregnancy! I’m fine before and after, it’s only while I’m pregnant. I was hoping it wouldn’t be the case this time but it is again. At least I know this doesn’t have anything to do with gender since you’re having a boy and having the same issue [emoji23][emoji847]

JConger, we have a pretty even distribution of thyroid issues in both girl and boy moms.

So perhaps it’s not based on the pregnancy but just the mom... that would make sense since from baby #2 and on it’s been slightly off.
