Hello
I see here in my country that doctors prescribe vitamin D and folic acid at the first visit when they confirm that you are pregnant. Is it safe to take vit D?
What vitamins do you take when you get pregnant beside folic acid?

Yes Vit. D is very good to take and may help prevent preeclampsia.
Absolutely take Vitamin D on your doctor's request.
I recommend a basic woman's vitamin like Women's One a Day OR a prenatal. Be sure whatever you choose you take one that has only the 100% recommended value of most nutrients, no megadoses, and no herbs added.
You can take somewhat more Vit D (your doc will advise you here)
Take the extra folic acid or folate all thru the whole first tri of pregnancy, and then gradually wean off by spacing doses further and further out till down to one per week, then you can drop them.
