Hi,
We’ve been swaying and trying one attempt since January and finally got a positive a couple days ago :) this month we decided to do every four days but I’m pretty sure it must have happened on may 2nd because I had ovulation bleeding that day. Anyway, I’m feeling pretty hopeful the sway was successful, but I had wavered a lot on the diet portion :/ I mostly ate vegetarian since November but since mid April I had started eating meat occasionally. I was on Zoloft though( I already stopped taking it), plus my husband had been horribly, violently ill and vomiting the 3 days prior to the attempt. He has also been drinking soy milk since November ish. Oh, and since my husband was sick and we also happened to be out of town and at an amusement park with our 3 boys, I hadn’t really eaten much and had been walking a ton that weekend. Do you think I have a chance? Thank you:)

I also wanted to add that I am breastfeeding an 11 month old, I was drinking a lot of beer around that time, and that my husband was taking several hot showers per day because of his illness....those are all things that I’m crossing my fingers will work in our favor

Huge congrats!

You always have a chance of a girl OR a boy! I can't tell anyone what gender they're having on the basis of their sway, if only I could!

One thing I did want to mention is that "ovulation bleeding" oftentimes comes from the CERVIX and not the release of the egg as some people claim. This is because as ovulation approaches, your cervix becomes very soft and can sometimes get a little injury on it (and walking a lot is one of the things that can cause this type of spotting) that would otherwise have gone unnoticed, but because you make more cervical mucus at that point of the cycle it combines with the CM to become visible to the eye. This means that a little bleeding AROUND ovulation does not necessarily mean that is when the egg dropped so we honestly can't say for sure when ovulation occurred on that basis.

I will just wish you good luck and send you all the pink dust I have.

I have been thinking about what you said about how ovulation bleeding might not mean I ovulated when I thought I did. I had spotting on may 1st and 2nd, and had 1 attempt on the 2nd which is the one I originally assumed had been successful. I also did an attempt on the sixth and then an accidental one on the seventh :/ on the seventh, I did a jump and dump right away and used a whole tube of replens so I’m praying that that isn’t the time that did it! I keep worrying that I ruined the sway with that extra attempt. Anyway, Just wanted to vent my frustrations with myself I guess. Thanks again for the pink dust!

We'll have to compare once you have your early ultrasound, but the spotting generally happens AROUND ovulation, just not AFTER ovulation the way people think of it. This is because the cervix is very soft and prone to injury and this is what causes most of the spotting. So even tho we can't pin down ovulation as specifically as you were thinking, the likelihood is still that you were ovulating sometime around that attempt and not 5 days later. It's just that we can't say "oh this spotting means I already ovulated" because it very likely was before you Oed, not after.

Hi again!
Today I went to the doctor and the baby is looking good. It was measuring 6 weeks 5 days, I’m supposed to be 7 weeks 2 days. Does that mean I probably conceived later, or could it just be a little small? Thank you for your input.

It’s within the “margin of error” for measurements. Growth varies slightly as well.

Totally within the "could go either way" range! The techs are not always precise with their measurements, there is SOME variation but usually in early pregnancy this variation is much less than later on in pregnancy, but deffo within a couple days, and/or you could have Oed later than you think (even if just a day later). no way to know now!
