We are ttc ASAP no gender preference - (post loss so just trying for quick conception)

I’m trying to decide if we should have another attempt today...

I'm sorry, I didn't catch this in time yesterday.

Whatever you did was the right thing to do. I would have probably had you have another attempt just to cover your bases (and do have one today) as OPK can sometimes be fakers, but other than that you did a great job and I think youre in with an excellent shot.

No worries! We skipped yesterday because our attempt the day before was supper time and I worried maybe it would be too quick for him to replenish lol (I read the jelly bean factory essay haha)

But we did get one in today at 1pm so still early

I had a lot of watery / wet opaque cm - with a great slip to it haha

And I had very obvious ferning tho I don’t know that I put much stock in ferning

As long as you're in the fertile window, all attempts are good. Even if the subsequent batch was a little smaller, you're ADDING to it not taking away. So imagine you're adding 5+3+1+1+1 , that's still going to add up to be more than 5+3+0 (no attempt) +2 if that makes sense (obviously these numbers are just for illustration LOL) My point is, even if the sperm does recover some, you've missed a day that you were fertile and could have added something. And by waiting, you may end up out of the fertile window (I'm not saying you did, but that is the risk) So I would not overthink that, as long as you're in that fertile window of O+3 thru O Day, and especially on O-1 and O-2, it's all good, have as much sex as you can even if the individual batches may be a bit smaller.

But it sounds to me like this latest attempt was a goer too so it's all good!! FXFXFX!

So next cycle, if I’m not pregnant this cycle...for best chances at conception should I have sex every other day from af and then have as much sex as we can once I get a positive opk and continue until outside of the fertile window?

Let me point out the potential drawback of doing this and then you'll be better able to make an informed decision.

What we DON'T want to see happen is for your hubby to get depleted too soon and then be unable/unwilling to perform during the fertile window. Some guys can do this, others aren't able to keep up. So very early on, it may behoove you guys to do more like every 2-4 days, and then as you get closer, go to eod (or not, if he's happy with every 2-4) and then when the fertile window opens, hit it hard, daily if you can. And because we're seeing EWCM dry up sometimes the day before O, even past when you think you're not fertile can be a good idea. Whatever you think will work better for YOU guys.

You are absolutely in with a well timed attempt. Can I say if this will be THE attempt, I can't, but that is not because you didn't have good attempts, it's that so much comes into play and even in the best months you still only have 20-30% chances.

When you say “when the fertile window opens” are you meaning at positive opk?

I get super confused because I do see watery cm before pos opk

O-3 thru O-Day is considered the fertile window, and in that window O-2 and O-1 are the best chances of conception so they should be your focus.

You need to either hope for a fairly regular cycle or use OPK to get in that window. For most people pos OPK is somewhere in the ballpark of O-2/O-1ish.

Totally normal to have fertile CM many days before pos OPK. Many of us are having it as soon as CD 5! In and of itself it's not a sign you can conceive, because even in ideal circumstances the sperm doesn't live beyond 3 days and more reliably, 2. While pregnancies from sex 4-5 days before O are possible, they're much less common (VERY much less. and are not something to count on and aim at.
