View Full Version : Okay without Aci-Jel?

I am about two weeks out from our first attempt and having second guesses. :nails: I will be using rephresh and sylk, dh will abstain for at least nine days and he has been wearing tighty whities. Is it okay to not use acijel as well (assuming I could get my hands on it)? I am thinking those other methods will lower sperm count quite a bit and acijel could be one thing too much and prevent pg altogether. No magic bullets, right?

Oh and at least this first month, we will be doing a one-shot attempt ...yet another thing that lowers odds of pg. I will not be doing jump and dump, though - I will lay still for at least five min after.

Of course it's fine without Aci-jel, plenty of girls are conceived without it - including the millions who are doing nothing whatsoever to sway! Good luck :-)

I like RepHresh and Sylk 10 million times better than Acijel anyway. :agree:

The more sway stuff you use, the lower the odds of conception.

Atomic, can I ask why you prefer RepHresh + Sylk over Aci-jel? With everything I read, I was leaning toward using Aci-jel (I know it's expensive and even more so to ship it here, but I would be willing to do it). I'd love to hear your reasoning on why you think RepHresh and Sylk are so much better. Thanks! :)

RepHresh is bar none the best product on the market for swaying because it chemically reacts with everything it touches to lower pH. All the other jellies just sit there and tho they lower pH by combining with the semen/CM, they don't chemically react to bring the pH of the semen/CM down like RepHresh does and so the combined pH will always be higher than the pH of the other jellies, whereas RepHresh lowers the pH of everything to 4.5-5.

I like Sylk better than Acijel because it's a better lube and a lot of people have pH spikes with Acijel. Plus Acijel is twice the price of Sylk and unlike all the other jellies, does not have a nice informative website, it was recalled for several months a few years ago and no one ever gave a reason why - they just seem a little bit (or a lottle bit) more fly-by-night. The only thing about Acijel is that it has acetic acid which seemed to sway in one study but I don't personally think different forms of acid sway differently anyway. pH is pH.

People have def. gotten girls using both Sylk and Acijel (and RepHresh too for that matter) and so it seems to me to make sense to use the one that is more affordable and just seems like a nicer product all around.

Thank you so much for that thorough review, Atomic! I appreciate it so much! :)

Ok, I was gonna buy Rephresh but then read somewhere that Acijel sways more in an older thread (the one about rephresh, replens etc.)? So I bought it as easy to get in New Zealand. I was not gonna test pH as too stressful and don't know how to do that anyway. Now I'm wondering whether I should test the pH?
Thanks.
