Hi Atomic,

I’ve been tracking my ovulation for a few months and I usually get positive opk on CD 13.
This is the first cycle we are bd’ing. I haven’t gotten the positive, test line was always lighter than control. Normally I get a test line which matches the control line at least. I was getting a fade in starting CD 12 and started getting lighter and today at CD 14 it’s the lightest I’ve seen. Does this mean I had Positive opk somewhere between CD 12 and now which I missed? I was testing twice a day sometimes more.
today is CD 14. What should I do? We did have a BD attempt late night CD 12. after that until now we have not had any attempts or protected sex.

Please let me know what we should do.

What time of day have you been testing? What cycle day did you start testing?

It is possible that you surged before you started testing. It's also possible that you missed it. But most likely is that you're ovulating a little later than normal this month and will still surge and ovulate CD 15,16,17, in that range. It's totally normal to surge/O as late as CD 21 and even up thru CD 35 is very common to see.

Because I don't know which of these possibilities is actually happening I can't say for sure what to do. Since if you've already Oed we can't do anything about that, the only thing we really can do is have you keep testing and see if the test goes positive.

Hi,

so I started testing one day after my period ended so I don’t think I missed it. I usually test around 11-12 pm. Then also around 3pm and if I feel like it then also around 7pm.

should we do an attempt this afternoon and then one this evening? And then another attempt tomorrow? Or should I hold off and keep testing to see if it goes positive?

Well, that depends on how long your period is, but we'll assume you're right.

:agree: you are testing at a good time of day - I'd probably push it back an hour to 1 pm, 4 pm, and skip the late one to save tests but tha'ts up to you.

It's really up to you. If you think you're ovulating have attempts. If you're not sure, I'd probably keep waiting to see if the positive comes.

Hi Atomic,

I did get a late ovulation because I kept testing for it. We did 4 attempts and I got pregnant. This was our first cycle trying so I’m really happy about that!
I will let you know the gender once I find out, thank you! I have a good feeling it’ll be a bit! :)

Hi Atomic,

I’m 22 weeks pregnant now. I found out the gender at 20 weeks and it’s a girl. I’ve been going thru a lot of gender disappointment :(
I wasn’t prepared for a second girl, I even had a feeling all along the pregnancy that it’s a boy.

I just keep going back to what I must have done wrong :(

I will be posting the attempt information when I get a chance.

DH and I want to attempt for a 3rd baby once baby girl turns 14-15 months. We do get pregnant quickly, with first daughter it took 2 months and current pregnancy it took just one month. I’ll reach back out to you for a new plan once we are ready.

thanks :)
