I dont really know myself how to read these early scans, but could you tell me if this picture is upsidedown as it is pictured here? Because I am currently questioning mine (also in posted in this forum) and mine seem to have the scanning head (the black half circle) at the bottom, I wonder if this makes a difference? Mine were also vaginal!

if this is a vaginal scan isnt the baby on the right indicating a boy ??

The picture is reverse of the actual data, LMN7. So being that her baby is so far over on the right, it really means left, which left supposedly means girl. But Ramzi himself on a IG thread (I dont have link, sorry) has said that placenta forming is what his study was about, not where exactly the babe is, because some ppl on IG were applying his theory incorrectly, saying what side baby was on mattered, and he posted and said, no forget about baby, it's where the placenta is growing, and that sometimes that's hard to see, and sometimes tech would have to add something to see blood flow. I need to find this post again so I can link it here

so with a vaginal scan you have to flip the image then is that right ??

Didn't work for me. First baby was on the left transvaginal and hes all boy, second baby due Sept. 1st was on right transvaginal and just found out its another boy. And I believe from what i read that if it was a transvaginal you don't need to flip it because its already correct. Good luck anyhow and Congrats.

im really confused by this theory, as i thought if was a vaginal scan no need to flip but if was an abdomen scan then you had to flip.
I just had a 6 week scan but no pic. It was viginal scan and everything was on the left.
Ho hum will have to wait and see...

mamaashley were they completely opposite sides and def no way they could of been flipped images ?
MamaAshley

Complete opposite sides thru transvaginal meaning they were already in the correct spot, no flipping needed but i have read cases where it was correct for people so maybe I was just one it didn't work for lol either way I'm excited.

im not sure if this helps anyone but this was transvaginal and during the scan ultrasound lady said several times that the baby ,yolk sac ect was on the very far left of me, she also had the wand always pushing to the left of me through the whole scan ,but in the photos they baby appears to be on the far right so i would say that transvaginal images do have to be flipped , hope this helps

I have to admit I'm completely confused now, and I reread my post and realized i made a mistake, first LO was on LEFT, 100% boy, 2nd was on RIGHT and doc said he's pretty sure another boy so is there a possibility he is incorrect? Because if flipped LO #1 would technically be on right transvaginal and LO #2 would technically be on left transvaginal correct?

I had a 6 wk scan and the image on the screen and printed out was definately the opposite to real life because the sonographer was searching for my left ovary and on the screen she was looking on the right. She confirmed she was looking for my left ovary several times and also i can remember her needing to pull my right knee further out to be able to point the wand further to the left. So I think it just depends on where you are having scan and who is operating the machine as to whether the image needs to be flipped or not and it really needs to confirmed to be able to guess based on ramzi.

Im still confused by this as when i had my scan last week he was deffo looking on left side and he too asked me to move my right leg so he could angle the wand more to left but on the screen everything was on the left side so not the opposite.
Oh i wish i would have asked him, it would have been nice to have gotten a pic too :(

Ok, So, I had my 6 week 4 day u/s today vaginally. I asked if she could see the placenta forming, and she said it was too early to tell. But, once she printed out the pic, it looked identical to yours 4boys. I asked the dr. "So, is this pic true to form, the baby is on my right? She said, "No, and held teh pic up to my belly showing baby on left and yolk sac/baby/possible placenta (in my eyes) on left. I'm not excited in the least bit b/c this theory has been so confused online. And, I looked back at my boys' early u/s and they all also look on the left on their vag. ultrasounds. But, I don't know if that ultrasound back then (diff. city, diff docs) were true to side or not?
So, this is going in the old wive's tale category for me :)

I read on IG ages ago that it doesn't matter if it is abdominal or vaginal, you still reverse the picture to determine the side placenta is on.

I think the best way is to actaully lay the pic on your belly. That's how the tech described it to me. So, by that. When I was LOOKINg at the screen, it was on the right. But, when I held the pic up to my belly, pic side facing out, it was all on the left. We'll see in 33ish weeks......Holy cow this is going to be a long wait!
