Hi again ladies, I just have a quick supplement question. I have decided to add vitex and saw palmetto to my sway this cycle......just to "shake things up a bit"....lol! Prior to this I have only been taking cranberry and doing the LE diet.

After reading all the posts by atomic on these 2 supps I realise that my cycles at the moment are exactly the same as when I conceived my 3DS's ie: 28 day cycle with ovulation occuring on CD 13-14, and really I need them to be a little different...I hope I have understood correcly!

So, my plan is to take vitex AF-O 800mg, SP AF-O 320mg and also zinc 8-15mg AF-O

Does this sound ok? Do I take them all together daily from AF-O?

Previously we have been having one attempt at ovulation and I thought we might start BD'ing straight through O with multiple attempts starting at first positive OPK in order to enhance our chances of getting a positive HPT....hehe!

Does this sound like an ok plan?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Your plan sounds good to me. I think vitex and saw palmetto can be great! However, I think I saw somewhere that Zinc sways boy. I'm sure someone else can chime in or you can check with Atomic.

Thanks so much for your reply purple sky! I thought zinc swayed boy as well due to it's nutritional value, however after reading atomics section on SP I saw one little quote about zinc and SP working together in some way and if you only take 8-15mg it actually benefits a girl sway. However, my mind is easily jumbled with all the reading so I am looking forward to hearing from atomic!

Ok, thought I better have a better look at the info....and from what I can understand from the post there is a weightlifting site that thinks that zinc prevents testosterone from converting into estrogen. So, if you feel you have estrogen dominance and would like to take SP to lower testosterone you could maybe take zinc in a small dose as well? Gee, I am pretty much a novice to all this so I hope I am interpreting it correctly before I take the zinc....haha!

Atomic did say that she wasn't sure how it works or how it sways but wanted to pass on the info.....maybe I shouldn't be "micromanaging" my sway so much...after all aren't I supposed to be lowering testosterone not increasing...lol! I feel like I am doing a pretty relaxed sway and was curious about other supps and how to change my cycle slightly which is how I came across the info.

It's nice if they are a little different, but it's ok if they aren't. I'm sure people do conceive baby girls with regular cycles.

The amounts on the vitex and SP are perfect. If need be, you may want to stop it the day before you expect to O because they have delayed O for some people. I usually have people break up the vitex into 400 am and pm and then the SP can just be taken whenever. We don't know how it works best - no one's studied it.

Re the zinc, I understand why you're taking it but unless you are 1000% sure you are very high in estrogen, I wouldn't risk it. That info about the zinc was just one bit of information I found and I personally don't think zinc is the way to go for pink at this stage, until I have more data. Up to you tho and if you do take it, keep us up to date on how it works for you.

Re frequency - sounds good but try to make sure that DH has done frequent release of 7-10 days before your first attempt or that he's released 2-3 times in 24 hours before your first attempt to make sure sperm count is lower from the start.

Yes, just let me state very clearly the info about the zinc was something I was sharing for informational purposes, NOT something that I believe should be added to the general sway. Until I have more data to go on, I don't recommend adding it unless you are sure you're a)lowering testosterone and b) estrogen dominant as a result.

That having been said, zinc is one of the few nutrients that your body cannot store that isn't present in large amounts on LE (there is some in tahini and coconut water) and so it may not be a horrible thing to take a small amount if you've been on diet a long time and are not eating/drinking these foods - I wouldn't take 8-15, maybe 4?? Split an 8 in half? That way you're still not getting enough, but you're getting some. Again, I don't necessarily recommend this for the average swayer in any way because if you aren't truly lowering T (as in, swaycession is raising your T faster than SP and diet can lower it, or for those who don't take SP), all you will do is ensure that your body has more raw materials to make estrogen with, KWIM??

Hey atomic, thankyou so much for all the invaluable info.....where would we be without you! I completely understood that the info about the zinc was just something you were passing on after coming across it on a body building website and that there wasn't really info on if it swayed at all. The way zinc works in the body makes sense when you explain it. I have decided not to take it and stick with the vitex and SP....my motto is to try and "keep it simple"......though this is hard when you are investing so much energy into conceiving a certain gender.....lol!

The only reason I thought I might try and shake up my cycle a little is because all 3 DS's were pretty much conceived the same way:

I was vegetarian for 15 years

All conceived during a hot Australian summer

I did LOADS of cardio but no weights so was quite lean and fit.

Never at breakfast, however did eat a really healthy diet but no salt ever. I really think my exceptionally healthy diet is the key to my boys.

All conceived on a regular 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 13-14 and my LP is always 14 days.

All conceived by BD'ing over ovulation very frequently ie: 2 times a day for 5 days in a row once I had ferning on microscope.

I thought if I change my cycle a little with vitex it would be different to when I conceived my boys......only time will tell I guess!!

Thanks again atomic, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond with so much advice.....it's nice to have people on here who can give a little guidance.
